Poll Watch: Democrat Scott Murphy Holds 4 Point Lead Over Jim Tedisco in NY-20 But……
The conventional wisdom is Republican Jim Tedisco will pick up this seat for the GOP in New York’s 20th Congressional District (A seat opened when incumbent Democrat Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand was appointed to replace Hillary clinton in the U.S. Senate).
The latest Siena Research poll says otherwise.
As the NY-20 special election enters the final weekend, Scott Murphy (D) has reversed a four-point deficit and turned it into a four-point lead over Jim Tedisco (R), according to a new Siena Research poll.
Murphy now leads 47% to 43% among likely voters, having trailed two weeks ago by a 45% to 41% margin.
Key findings: Tedisco’s campaign is viewed by voters as more negative by a 44% to 25% percent margin, while Murphy’s campaign is seen as more positive.
But…..
Tedisco internal polling shows a tight race with him leading.
This race will come down to turnout and how successful the Obama machine is post-election.
The election is next Tuesday.

He’s a product of a Washington DC slick campaign with nice commercials but don’t get
fooled folks. He’ll vote yes for the mortgage bailout bill and yes on a second stimulus package.
The people who got us into this mess with AIG was Barney Frank and Dodd, and it was rushed
through without thought and voted on. Exactly what Scotty Murphy did when he said he’d vote
for the first stimulus bill without reflecting on it or reading the bill.
