Are You Running for President or CEO?
Folks are getting their shorts tied up in knots about former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina first saying:
“Do you think [Sarah Palin] has the experience to run a major company, like Hewlett Packard?” asked the host.
“No, I don’t,” responded Fiorina. “But you know what? That’s not what she’s running for.”
The rest of Fiorina’s statement is:
Appearing on the McGraw Milhaven Show on St. Louis KTRS Radio, Fiorina went on to stress that the Alaska Republican had more executive experience than anyone else on the ticket, specifically Barack Obama.
“I find it quite stunning actually that the Barack Obama campaign is questioning Sarah Palin’s experience,” she said. “She has more executive experience than he does and she is the vice presidential nominee and he is the presidential nominee.”
Then, Fiorina went on MSNBC to say neither could John McCain, Joe Biden and Barack Obama run Hewlett Packard. Watch the video above as she debunks the entire idea as a FALLACY.
Here is the full quote:
I don’t think John McCain could run a major corporation. I don’t think Barack Obama could run a major corporation. I don’t think Joe Biden could. But it is not the same as being the president or vice president of the United States. It is a fallacy to suggest that the country is like a company, so of course, to run a business, you have to have a lifetime of experience in business, but that’s not what Sarah Palin, John McCain, Barack Obama or Joe Biden are doing.
Well, Fiorina is correct and NONE of them are applying for a major CEO position, now are they?
So, how do you judge a Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate?
Flap guesses you VOTE (based on an informed rationale (of character, executive experience and issue positions) notwithstanding that Team Obama will try to exploit Fiorina’s naked truth as some sort of GAFFE or disqualifier of Palin and McCain.

With all due respect, neither can Fiorina. Which is why she was kicked out from HP. Besides, McCain isn’t helping himself by putting CEO’s like Fiorina on the tube at a time when Wall Street is collapsing. Best thing he can do now is to Have Palin herself drag in Obama into the experience debate.

I have to agree……But, she is more capable in business than those 4 despite her failures.
