Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: Final JOEMENTUM

    liebermannovember6aweb

Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., left, marches in the Connecticut Veterans Day Parade with U.S. Rep. Nancy Johnson, right, and radio personality Brad Davis, center, in Hartford, Conn., Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006.

Quinnipiac University: November 6, 2006 – Lieberman Has 12-Point Lead In Connecticut, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds

Incumbent Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman holds a 50 – 38 percent likely voter lead over Democratic candidate Ned Lamont, with 8 percent for Republican Alan Schlesinger, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Five percent are undecided.

This compares to a 49 – 37 percent Sen. Lieberman lead over Lamont, with 8 percent for Schlesinger in a November 1 poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh- pe-ack) University.

In this latest survey, Lieberman leads Lamont 79 – 3 percent among likely Republican voters, with 16 percent for Schlesinger, and 52 – 35 – 7 percent among independent voters, while likely Democratic voters back Lamont 66 – 27 percent.

“For Connecticut voters, Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s experience and record outweighed challenger Ned Lamont’s position on the war in Iraq,” said Quinnipiac University Poll Director Douglas Schwartz, Ph.D.

“It appears that Ned Lamont peaked in August and that Alan Schlesinger was never able to convince his fellow Republicans that he deserved their support.”

The Fat Lady has SUNG in this race.

The NUTROOTS have lost yet another race and Ned Lamont has WASTED millions of his own funds.

Will Lieberman switch to the GOP?

Perhaps……..or switch to the Bush Administration and a GOP Governor will appoint a GOP Senator.

    Stay tuned………

Hugh Hewitt highlights Lamont’s desperation – calling Joe Lieberman INSANE.

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: Landrieu stumps for Lieberman

    liebermanoctober27aweb

U.S. Senators Mary Landrieu (D-LA) (L) and Joe Lieberman (D-CT) (C) are greeted by chef Thomas Armstrong as they arrive for a campaign stop at the Rajun Cajun restaurant in Hartford, Connecticut October 26, 2006.

    R/A: Landrieu stumps for Lieberman

U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., campaigned delicately here Thursday for U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn.

Most of Lieberman’s Democratic colleagues have butted out of Connecticut since he lost an August primary to Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont.

Landrieu is one of the few exceptions, and, even rarer still, she openly supports Lieberman’s independent run for re-election as petition candidate.

Her appearances with Lieberman on Thursday put her at odds with a majority of Democratic officials in the state, including the three Democrats in Congress and party leaders.

“I didn’t come here to say the least negative thing about Mr. Lamont or the Democratic Party,” Landrieu said at a campaign stop in Berlin.

    The Quote:

“Most of my Senate Democratic colleagues have stayed out of this race, and that too means something to me,” Lieberman said.

Well, having a double digit lead in the polls scares the Democrats.

But……the wannabe candidates for President in 2008 have been submissive to the NUTROOTS and have been helping Ned Lamont.

Only a handful of Senate Democrats have contributed cash to Lamont.

They include Sens. Harry Reid, D-Nev., Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., Barack Obama, D-Ill., Barbara Boxer, D-Calif. and Russ Feingold, D-Wis. They each gave $5,000 through their political action committees.

“You know the Washington politicians sometimes they hedge their bets a little bit … I feel pretty confident about the quality of support we are getting,” Lamont said.

Is this why Lamont has been self-funding his own campaign? Hedging?

    How do you spell LOSER?

The Fat Lady is singing scales in this race.

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: Latest Quinnipiac University Poll Lieberman Leads 52-35

    liebermanoctober20aweb

Sen. Joe Lieberman talks to workers at Goodrich Optical and Space Division Elctro-Optical Systems in Danbury, Conn., Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2006. The latest poll suggests Lieberman, who is running as an independent, is drawing support from about two-thirds of Republicans, more than a third of Democrats and nearly half of unaffiliated voters, the state’s largest voting bloc. He leads despite the fact that 60 percent of voters say going to war was wrong.

AP: Poll: Lieberman’s lead growing in Conn.

Sen. Joe Lieberman has built a 17-point lead over Democratic challenger Ned Lamont, according to the first Quinnipiac University poll since the two faced off in a debate this week.

Lieberman, running as an independent after losing the Aug. 8 Democratic primary to Lamont, leads the Greenwich businessman 52 percent to 35 percent among Connecticut likely voters in the poll released Friday. Republican Alan Schlesinger trailed with 6 percent, and 7 percent were undecided.

A similar poll released on September 28 showed Lieberman with a 10-point lead.

The debate between Lieberman and Lamont on Monday was their first since the August primary. Among those in the poll who watched the debate or read or heard about it, only 3 percent said it changed their minds.

“Ned Lamont needed to score a knockout in the debates to catch Sen. Joseph Lieberman (news, bio, voting record), but he apparently didn’t lay a glove on him,” poll director Douglas Schwartz said.

    JOEMENTUM……..

Has the FAT LADY SUNG in this race?

She is warming up with scales of joementum joementum and naaaanaaaaa to the NUTROOTS.

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: First Debate – Lieberman Accuses Lamont of “Finger-Pointing”

    liebermanoctober16aweb

Connecticut candidates for the U.S. Senate smile after taking part in a three-way debate in Stamford, Conn., Monday, Oct. 16, 2006. From left are, Republican candidate Alan Schlesinger; incumbent Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, who is running as an independent; and Democratic Party candidate Ned Lamont.

AP: Rivals take shots at Lieberman in debate

Sen. Joe Lieberman might as well have worn a bull’s-eye during Monday’s debate with his Democratic and Republican rivals.

Democrat Ned Lamont labeled the three-term Connecticut senator a career politician in lockstep with President Bush on Iraq. Long-shot Republican Alan Schlesinger described himself as the only conservative in a race against two liberals, warning GOP voters about Lieberman’s mostly Democratic voting record.

Lieberman took the jabs and delivered a few of his own.

“His finger-pointing … is the last thing Washington needs more of,” Lieberman said of Lamont, accusing him of running a negative campaign.

Schlesinger is right about Lieberman – he is a Lefty except for the global war on terror, War in Iraq. And Lieberman is dead on when he accuses Lamont of running a negative campaign.

    But, the facts remain:

Lamont is trailing in the polls and has never lead.

Lamont is writing his own campaign checks and is having difficulty raising campaign cash.

Lamont desperately needs a knock-out of Lieberman in order to beat the long-time incumbent and has failed to deliver.

    The Big Fact:

    LIEBERMAN WINS

Allah Has the NUTS that Schlesinger won – according to the NUTROOTS, that is.

Daily Kos: Republican Alan Schlesinger, who was surprisingly impressive in the debate, made a clear distinction between himself and his two opponents on the immigration issue:

    Atrios: Schlesinger for Senate

Crooks and Liars: Schlesinger came out fighting

Jane Hamsher: Finally. A Republican with the stones to tell Joe Lieberman to get off his damn lawn. Lieberman thought he was going to look “bipartisan” standing in between Ned Lamont and Alan Schlessinger during the debate today but he just looked like a man without a country, crying because everyone was trying to steal his candy. While Joe was praising every Republican in sight (Jodi Rell, John McCain, Susan Collins — funny, no Democrats)

    myDD: Lieberman Crunched, Schlesinger Soars

How do you spell COORDINATED SPIN?

    Ace hates them.

Flap thinks they are SELF-RIGHTEOUS DUMBASSES who underestimate the voters of Connecticutt.

MM thinks Lamont’s campaign has FIZZLED.

The most significant development of the campaign is how dispirited some of the unhinged Left now seem to be about the once-indomitable Lamont campaign. At HuffPo, Arianna’s begging for readers to “help save Lamont” and lamenting Lamont’s move to the center.

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: No Man’s Land?

    liebermanoctober15aweb

U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn. and former New York City Mayor Ed Koch, left, ride an escalator as they greet commuters during a campaign stop at Grand Central Station in New York, Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006. Lieberman, running for re-election as an independent, defied Democratic leaders by launching an independent bid after he lost the Aug. 8 primary to Democrat Ned Lamont.

Hartford Courant: Joe Lieberman In No Man’s Land

Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, a lifelong Democrat and student of politics, blanked when asked if America would be better off with his party regaining control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

A Democratic victory would immeasurably boost the influence of two Connecticut friends, U.S. Reps. Rosa L. DeLauro and John B. Larson, and provide a counterbalance to the Republican Senate and White House.

“Uh, I haven’t thought about that enough to give an answer,” Lieberman said, as though Democrats’ strong prospects for recapturing the House hadn’t been the fall’s top political story.

He was similarly elusive about the race for governor. Is he voting for John DeStefano Jr., a Democrat and mayor of the city where Lieberman has lived since the 1960s?

“I’m, uh, I’m having,” he stammered, then laughed and said his decision would remain private.

And why should JoeMentum care about the other Democrats, including the ones like Senator Chris Dodd who are filming television commericals against Lieberman?

The Senate Democrat leaders have promised Joe that he will retain his 18 years of seniority in the Senate if he reorganizes the Senate with the Democrats. My bet is that sometime in the next 6 years Lieberman regrets this decision and switches parties and/or retires.

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: Lieberman Defends Civil Rights Record

    liebermanoctober11aweb

Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman makes a point during a news conference in his Hartford, Conn.. campaign headquarters where he refuted points made earlier in the day at a news conference attended by rival Ned Lamont about his civil rights record.

AP: Lieberman defends civil rights record

Sen. Joe Lieberman defended his civil rights record, disputing a black Democratic group’s charge he lied about his 1960s activism fighting segregation in the South.

“That’s really outrageous and, of course, it’s a lie,” Lieberman said Wednesday.

The Connecticut Federation of Black Democratic Clubs, which includes 20 clubs across the state, endorsed Lieberman’s Democratic rival Ned Lamont and questioned whether he marched for civil rights.

“Senator, the Connecticut Federation of Black Democratic Clubs is offended by your television ad which claims you were an advocate for African-Americans’ first-class citizenship and as such you marched for our civil rights,” said Henry E. Parker, a former state treasurer, during a news conference attended by Lamont.

“Our research indicates that there is no evidence of you taking any action that could be described as an initiative to remove the shackles of second-class citizenship,” Parker said.

Lieberman’s campaign produced a 1963 college newspaper clip that cites Lieberman’s reporting from Jackson, Miss., about the arrests of civil rights workers. Lieberman was chairman of the Yale Daily News.

“Was I there?” Lieberman said. “You bet I was there.”

Lieberman said he led a group of Yale students to Mississippi. He also recalled being part of the Washington, D.C., crowd at the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famed “I Have a Dream” speech in August 1963.

Keep writing those self-promoting campaign checks, Ned.

Behind in the polls, Lamont has given $2 million to his campaign to unseat the three-term incumbent.

Lamont has contributed $8,751,500 of his own personal wealth to his Senate bid, including a $2 million check he wrote on Tuesday. The latest poll showed him trailing Lieberman, 48-40 percent, with Republican Alan Schlesinger at just 4 percent.

    Has the Fat Lady sung?

NOPE, but warming up in this race.

    Keep writin’ Ned…….

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: “Lamont Praised Me Before He Criticised Me”

    liebermanseptember13aweb

Sen. Joseph Lieberman, D-Conn., ranking Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, takes part in a hearing on homeland security, Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 on Capitol Hill in Washington.

AP: Lieberman and Lamont lash out in Conn.

Sen. Joe Lieberman bemoaned the nasty tone of Ned Lamont’s campaign — even as he swiped at his Democratic rival, accusing him of waffling on the Iraq war.

“Ned Lamont is running one of the most negative campaigns that I can remember,” Lieberman said in a telephone conference call with reporters Tuesday. “He constantly criticizes, criticizes, criticizes. And he blames me for just about everything, maybe except the weather.”

Lieberman, who is running as an independent after losing last month’s Democratic primary to Lamont, was responding to his foe’s complaint that he has missed 16 votes on Iraq since 2003.

“Senator Lieberman, how can you hold the president accountable for his foreign policy when you’re not there for the votes that count?” Lamont asked at a Connecticut event.

Lieberman, insisting he has a nearly 95 percent voting record, complained the attack was to divert attention from recent Lamont “inconsistencies and hypocrisies” on Iraq and the 1998 sex scandal involving President Clinton and a White House intern.

Lieberman accused Lamont of flip-flopping on Iraq: “Three different positions, in three different places on three different days. That’s quite a feat.”

Challenger Ned Lamont is playing defense after criticizing Joe Lieberman for his condemnation of Bill Clinton’s seedy sexual behavior with Monica Lewinsky in the White House. Last week it was discovered that Lamont had praised Lieberman’s rebuke of Clinton in an e-mail sent to Lieberman’s office.

Last week, Lamont rapped Lieberman for publicly scolding Clinton over the sex scandal. Lieberman’s Senate office then released a 1998 e-mail from Lamont saying he “reluctantly supported” Lieberman’s rebuke of Clinton.

“And so, one might say that he praised me before he criticized me,” Lieberman said. “I couldn’t resist that one.”

    JoeMentum is gathering speed.

Ned Lamont’s offense is sputtering and moaning a 95 % Lieberman voting record is NOT going to win you an election.

    Stay tuned…..

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: New Poll Has Joe Lieberman Winning 51-35

U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman marches with his wife, Hadassah, Monday Sept. 4, 2006, in the Newtown, Conn. Labor Day parade. Lieberman, the party’s vice presidential candidate six years ago, marched several blocks behind his former allies in Monday’s parade in Newtown, one of the state’s biggest traditional campaign season kickoff events.

Political Wire: In Connecticut, Poll Finds Lamont Way Behind

A new Public Opinion Strategies (R) poll finds Ned Lamont (D) trailing Sen. Joe Lieberman (I), 51% to 35%, in the Connecticut U.S. Senate race. Republican Alan Schlesinger receives 4% of the vote, while 10% remain undecided.

Key finding: When asked which candidate is running a negative campaign, 40% say Lamont compared to 19% for Lieberman.

Looks like Joementum has taken hold in Connecticut.

Is this why Senate Democrats are being NICE?

Weeks after Lieberman lost the Democratic primary — and defied his party with an independent bid — the three-term Connecticut senator was greeted warmly Wednesday as he attended his party’s weekly luncheon and participated in Senate business.

Democrats gave Lieberman an ovation as Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., introduced him at the lunch and welcomed him back. Republican Sen. Susan Collins (news, bio, voting record) of Maine shared a hug with Lieberman on the Senate floor.

Looks like Kos and the NETNUTTERS are going to take yet another loss.

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: Newtown Labor Day Parade FLAP

    liebermanaugust30aweb

US Senator Joseph Lieberman, pictured here at a recent Newtown appearance, has had an invitation to march in the town’s Labor Day Parade retracted by members of the local Democratic Town Committee and First Selectman Herb Rosenthal.

The Newtown Bee: Lieberman Controversy Attends Labor Day Parade Preparations

If US Senator Joseph Lieberman chooses to march in this year’s Newtown Labor Day parade, he will likely do so as a true independent. Local members of the Democratic Town Committee, including First Selectman Herb Rosenthal and former staunch Lieberman supporter Jim Juliano, agree that the Senator has no reason to believe he is welcome to march beside other endorsed party candidates.

“By marching with members of the DTC and invited Democratic candidates and state leaders, it would give the impression that we support his candidacy,” said Mr Rosenthal when asked about the issue late Wednesday.

“I told him through his office, that as a duly elected Democratic official, he’s putting me in an uncomfortable, almost embarrassing position. We have a duly elected candidate, who was endorsed by a historic turnout of state Democrats in the recent primary. I don’t have to march with [Sen Lieberman], the DTC doesn’t have to march with him, so why would he want to make it look like he’s in good graces with the Democratic Party?” Mr Rosenthal continued. “He is not in good graces with state Democrats.”

Senator Lieberman is a sitting Democrat United States Senator. Anyone except petty POLS would wish their Connecticut United States Senator marching in their town’s parade.

But NO – the Democrats continue to EAT THEIR OWN.

And when JoeMentum is elected as an independent……..
