218631299 2beae38869 o Giuliani Notes: Arnold and Rudy in California to Fight Gangs on Monday

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (C) speaks at a news conference as he is joined by California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (L) and Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca (R) in Santa Monica, California, August 17, 2006, urging California voters to support Proposition 83, Jessica’s Law on the November 2006 ballot. Proposition 83 calls for electronically monitoring sex offenders for life via a GPS system as well as allowing prosecutors to charge criminals who posses child pornography with a felony. The measure was passed by California voters in November 2006.

New West Notes: GIULIANI TO CALI, MEET WITH SCHWARZENEGGER ON GANGS

Republican presidential frontrunner Rudy Giuliani makes a quick trip to California Monday for fundraising and a session in the Los Angeles suburb of Monterey Park on gang violence with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, LA County Sheriff Lee Baca, and Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona. Giuliani had a lot of experience dealing with gangs as mayor of New York and as a federal prosecutor.

If Flap is not too sore from the Los Angeles Marathon tomorrow, he will try to cover the story.

409230266 94820ff02d o Giuliani Notes: Rudy Wins Combo Presidential Straw Poll Vote at CPAC

The CPAC Presidential Straw Poll results are out.

A summary by Patrick Ruffini:

Romney wins narrowly while Rudy Giuliani finishes a strong second:

Romney 21%

Giuliani 17%

Brownback 15%

Gingrich 14%

McCain 12%

But, Rudy Giuliani wins the combo vote of first and second place choices:

This was a young crowd with the vast majority of registrants under the age of 30. And more than 2/3 rds were male.

409230272 666fcc68a1 o Giuliani Notes: Rudy Wins Combo Presidential Straw Poll Vote at CPAC

This was not a bad showing for the Mayor.

Mitt Romney worked the crowd and beat the Mayor by 4 % on the first poll and lost in the second. John McCain who did not show for the confab did not do well.

What is the significance of this poll?

Probably not much due to the demographics of the voting population.

But……is there any doubt that Hizzoner is the most broadly supported candidate by conservatives?

Captain Ed agrees that Mitt Rromney did not do THAT well.  Rob Bluey sees a big Romney win – why Flap doesn’t quite understand unless it is the hangover.
Flap saw Romney’s speech on C-span and was not impressed. I am sorry folks but Romney reminds Flap of a television informercial salesman – too slick.

Flap gives better credence to the latest Newsweek poll where Rudy beats Romney 70% to 20%.

409050226 de3ce0fe0c o Giuliani Notes: Newsweek Poll Rudy Leads McCain 59% 34%

Newsweek: Rudy’s Rise

‘America’s mayor’ has pulled ahead of the other GOP candidates in the early stages of the White House race, according to the latest NEWSWEEK poll.

Maybe it is Giuliani time, after all. Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani has pulled far ahead of Arizona Sen. John McCain in a hypothetical head-to-head GOP presidential primary matchup, according to the latest NEWSWEEK Poll—beating McCain 59 percent to 34 percent. Giuliani’s lead over former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is even more formidable (70 percent to 20 percent).

Flap will summarize the poll:

Giuliani 59%

McCain 34 %

*****

Giuliani 70 %

Romney 20 %

******

Is this GOP race over?

Flap supposes that the donors will be asking the hard question:

Is my money going to be WASTED donating to McCain and Romney?

Right now the answer is YES.

Let’s look at the head to head race with Hillary:

Rudy has now pulled ahead of all Democrat contenders including Hillary.

Note Well: Rudy leads Hillary in independent voters by 7 percentage points.

Are American voters making an early decision?

Perhaps.

Flap wants to see an electoral map poll. I bet it is not even close.

Stay tuned…..

New York Post: RUDY DRAGGED DOWN

Rudy Giuliani’s liberal stance on abortion, guns and gays wasn’t his biggest problem yesterday as he addressed a conference of conservative activists – it was his having dressed in drag.

A whisper campaign targeting the front-running GOP White House contender’s cross-dressing stunts at gala political dinners in New York and on “Saturday Night Live” was the hot topic among right-leaning activists.

“A lot of people are talking about it. It’s not respectable. They use it as a way to highlight all of his other shortcomings,” Las Vegas conservative Bruce Feher told The Post.

Big deal.

Dressing in drag as a comedic stunt is commonplace.

Some of these young immature conservatives at CPAC should NOT be so ANAL and SELF-RIGHTEOUS.

Now, did Flap just make an Ann Coulter mal-speak?
