Merry Christmas 2007
Chapter 2
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.MERRY CHRISTMAS

Mitt Romney Watch: Early State Strategy in Peril

Mitt Romney’s flip-flops on abortion over many years, but even recently. American Right to Life Action exposes him! ARTLAction.com is a new 527 group, which is airing this video as a commercial in Iowa on FOXNews.
Mitt Romney’s early state strategy to gather momentum and sweep to the GOP nomination is in trouble – partly due to flip-flops on abortion as the ad above so clearly demonstrates.
If Huckabee wins the Iowa caucuses Jan. 3, Romney’s campaign will have four days to recover before making a stand in New Hampshire, where he is leading in recent opinion polls. Romney aides claim a potential upside for their candidate: Huckabee’s meteoric rise has reset expectations for Romney, who will be credited with a meaningful win in Iowa should he pull it off.
Romney is losing in Iowa where he has spent over $7 million to Mike Huckabee and is hanging onto a lead within the margin of error to John McCain in New Hampshire. He has never lead in a national GOP poll even though he has dumped massive $ millions of his own wealth into television advertising.
Desperation in his campaign exudes with Romney hagiographer, Hugh Hewitt, former Giuliani e-employee Patrick Ruffini and the Manhattan based conservatives at National Review bashing Huckabee and Giuliani at every turn of the campaign.
The Romney shill Matt Drudge HOSED Rudy over a bogus story over at the other Romney shill Politico. Flap is amazed that the public does not demand financial disclosure forms from the media – Flap wonders how much money or promises have ACTUALLY changed hands with political consulting deals, books, third party payments to foundations, etc.
Throw in freshly converted Mormon Bay Buchanan (formerly Tom Tancredo’s campaign manager) and her brother Pat into the mix and you have nobody but Mitt pieces floating through the internets.
But, have they been able to fool the voters?
Nope…..
Huckabee spent the week basking in newfound popularity in Iowa. A month ago, he was having events in pizza parlors with 40 people and almost no press. Last week, 200 people packed into a raucous event in West Des Moines, with 50 more waiting outside.
Huckabee has described Romney as “desperate,” and his descriptions of Huckabee’s record as “dishonest,” “misleading” and “unfair.” For the moment, Romney’s advisers insist, they feel apprehension but not panic. “Would we like it to be different? Of course,” said one adviser who has been with Romney for years. “You have to trust the team. You have to trust the strategy. You have to trust what your original instinct was. I think that’s where the governor is.”
Whether it be Mike Huckabee in Iowa, John McCain in New Hampshire or Rudy in later states, Mitt Romney is in trouble and his strategy is failing. Look at where Mitt is campaigning after Christmas – New Hampshire. Romney has already written off Iowa apparently.
After Christmas somebody will go negative on Mitt. No one yet has done so in paid television media. It might be a 527 like the video above supporting Huckabee. It might be McCain in New Hamsphire via a 527 or help from Rudy. It might be Rudy in Michigan via Florida.
After Christmas it will be a whole new ball game.
What has become a Romney strategy that is teetering on the brink will be dealt the coup de grace – and rightly so.
Stay tuned…..

Rudy Giuliani Watch: Giuliani – McCain Ticket? Redux in New Hampshire
Republican presidential hopeful, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, addresses a gathering at a full coffee house during a campaign stop in Hampstead, N.H., Sunday Dec. 23, 2007.
Rudy Giuliani campaigning today in New Hampshire again showed the love to Senator John McCain.
During a campaign stop in Hampstead, N.H. today, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani said his Republican opponent, John McCain, R-Ariz., would make a “really good adviser.”
The former mayor was asked that since he did not have Washington experience like McCain, how would he navigate through the likely complicated dealings with Congress?
“John would be a really good adviser,’’ Giuliani said. “He’s a good friend. This campaign’s going to be over at some point, John is a friend now, he is going to remain a friend then.’’
Looking more exuberant than he has in recent days, Giuliani went on to praise McCain calling him “a hero of mine” for which he has great respect.
He went on to say while that McCain may have more experience in Washington, he had more executive experience.
“John has his assets, and strong points, and I have mine,’’ he said. “And I think that mine are that I’ve run a lot of things. I’ve been an executive. In government, out of government. I’ve had a chance to develop the things that you need to move large organizations. And to get large things done, and handle big crises and turn things around.â€
The fact is that both of them on the GOP ticket will make a formidable team to defeat the Democrats. Both are balanced and experienced politicians.
Flap lays odds that when the GOP primary dust settles if either of them win the top spot – the other will be named the VP.
Stay tuned……

American Right to Life Action, is running TV ads against Mitt Romney in Iowa on the Fox News Channel. This ad is DEADLY and POINTED on Mitt’s Flip-Flop on abortion.
Want to bet that McCain and Huckabee use this type of television ad against Romney in New Hampshire and South Carolina starting on the 26th?
Your bet would be well placed in the affirmative.

Representative Robert Filner Watch: House Ethics Committee Slaps Filner on the Wrist Over Airport Assault
Representative Robert Filner D-California
Well, before the House of Representatives adjourned for the year the House Ethics Committee delivered a mild rebuke to California Democrat Representative Robert Filner.
The Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, which established an investigative subcommittee earlier this fall to look into an incident between the congressman and an airline employee, ruled that Filner “demonstrated poor judgment” when he got into an altercation with a United employee at Dulles airport over the summer.
Filner entered a so-called Alford plea to trespassing in November, days before he was scheduled to appear before a Virginia judge, meaning he acknowledged the evidence against him without officially admitting his guilt. He also wrote a letter apologizing to the airline employee and paid a $100 fine.
In light of those actions, the House ethics panel refrained from any further action.
The committee concluded, “Notwithstanding this determination, the investigative subcommittee agreed unanimously that Rep. Filner’s conduct demonstrated poor judgment on his part, and that he is responsible for creating a situation that implicated the reputation of the House of Representatives.”
Hell, if you or I would have assaulted an airport employee in this manner we would have been arrested, booked and sentenced to either jail, community service or both. But, Filner as a member of Congress gets away with a “slap on the wrist.”
No wonder the public has so little regard for the Congress – among other things, of course.
But, with the gerrymandered Congessional Districts in California, unless a well-heeled Democrat decides to challenge Filner next year in a primary election, he will be re-elected easily, despite being an asshole bully.

Mitt Romney Watch: Romney Losing Lead to McCain in New Hampshire
Republican presidential candidate former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney listens to a question at a town hall meeting in Londonderry, New Hampshire December 22, 2007.
Boston Globe GOP New Hampshire Primary (PDF) H/T Aron Goldman
- Mitt Romney 28% (32%)
- John McCain 25% (17%)
- Rudy Giuliani 14% (20%)
- Mike Huckabee 10% (5%)
- Ron Paul 8% (7%)
- Fred Thompson 3% (3%)
- Don’t Know 12% (15%)
Survey of 410 likely Republican primary voters was conducted December 16-20. The margin of error is +/- 4.9 percentage points. Results from the poll conducted November 2-7 are in parentheses.
The Graph and Chart:
Flap agrees with Aron at Race42008. This race is wide open – 12% undecided.
More poll charts and graphs from the Boston Globe are here.Â
However, it appears that John McCain with two endorsements by Boston area newspapers now has the momentum up while Mitt Romney and Rudy have the momentum down.
Stay tuned……..

Mitt Romney Watch: Romney Campaign PURPOSEFULLY LYING About George Romney and Martin Luther King
George Romney and Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Boston Phoenix SCREAMS that the Romney for President campaign is deliberately lying about the Romney-MLK Flap.
Two women contacted the Mitt Romney campaign this week, offering their memories of seeing Romney’s father march with Martin Luther King Jr., in Grosse Point Michigan in 1963. Campaign officials were well aware that the women were mistaken. Yet, they directed those women to tell their stories to a Politico reporter. The motives and memories of the two women are unknown and irrelevant; the motives of the campaign, however, were obvious — to spread information they knew to be untrue, for the good of the candidate.
By getting this story out late on Friday afternoon, heading into the holiday weekend — good luck getting a King historian on the phone before Wednesday — the campaign was pretty well assured that it could keep alive through Christmas their claim that Mitt Romney was mistaken only about “seeing” it, not about it taking place.
Those facts are indisputable, and quite frankly, the campaign must have known the women’s story would eventually be debunked — few people’s every daily movement has been as closely tracked and documented as King’s. As I write this, I am looking at an article from page E8 of the June 30, 1963 Chicago Tribune, which discusses both events (among other civil-rights actions of the previous day), clearly placing the two men hundreds of miles apart. I also have here the June 30, 1963 San Antonio News, which carries a photo and article about Romney at the Grosse Pointe march; and an AP story about King’s speech in New Jersey.
A King researcher editing his letters from that time has stated definitively that the two men never marched together; Michigan and Grosse Pointe historians have stated definitively that King was not at the 1963 Grosse Pointe march; Michigan civil-rights participants of the time have concurred; so have those who worked for George Romney at the time.
All of this evidence is important to present to the general public, but it is unnecessary for the Romney campaign — it has been clear for some time that they know perfectly well that the two men never marched together.
Bear in mind that the Romney team has a substantial research team (and vast resources for outsourcing more). Bear in mind that the campaign has compiled vast documentation about the candidate’s father, particularly his civil-rights activities, long before the Phoenix posed the question earlier this week. Bear in mind that the campaign has direct access to George Romney’s materials and documents, his family members, his friends, his former staff, etc.
Believe me, they know the two men never marched together. This is an attempt to rewrite history. And even if it is a small rewriting, it is offensive.
Let’s look at Mitt Romney attempting to explain the situation:

The Boston Phoenix is crying Bull Shit and calling out Mitt Romney to explain. Who in the campaign set these two women spinning the BS?
Flap KNOWS Mitt has some explaining to do.
What about it Mitt?
