Day By Day by Chris Muir January 21, 2008
The GOP invited the Evangelicals in and now they have one of their own as a Presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee. But this drives voters from other faiths to either the Dems or to independent status.
Is the GOP becoming the FAR RIGHT Evangelical Christian party ONLY?
How can the GOP survive with such a narrow base? Convert everyone?

It isn’t over for Rudy….On to Florida

Hanson is out of his mind if he thinks McCain can unify the GOP. Giuliani is the only chance for the GOP this Fall.

Why John McCain CANNOT Be the GOP Nominee Part Three

John McCain sings Bomb Bomb Iran at Campaign Event
The South Carolina GOP may think Jon McCain is their man but his nomination would spell absolute disaster for the GOP in the Fall.
Flap has mentioned why in a number of pieces.
Now, there is this: the Democrats are licking their chops and already dissing McCain’s TEMPER.
And, if you think Rudy has had skeletons in his closet with his personal life. You haven’t seen anything as to what the Clinton Cabal can do to McCain and his adultery and dalliances.
The Perot-McCain relationship goes back to McCain’s five and a half years of captivity in Hanoi. When McCain’s then-wife Carol was in a serious car accident, McCain’s mother called Perot for help. “She asked me to send my people to Philadelphia to take care of the family,” Perot says. Afterwards, McCain was grateful. “We loved him [Perot] for it,” McCain told me in 2000.
Perot doesn’t remember it that way. “After he came home, he walked with a limp, she [Carol McCain] walked with a limp. So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona [Cindy McCain, his current wife] and the rest is history.”
John McCain will be wrong for the GOP and nation.

Rudy Giuliani Watch: Contrast in Florida

Rudy talked with Fox News’ Chris Wallace about the wide open race in Florida, his plan for the largest tax cut in American history, his commitment to restoring the Everglades and his plan for a national catastrophe fund.
Rudy on the Attack or Contrast in Florida?
Probably depends upon how much the other candidates engage the Mayor.
John McCain has not done much in the state and Huckabee will work the Mega-Evangelical churches. Will either of them do much more in the way of retail politics and ignore the Super Tuesday February 5 states to Romney?
Mitt Romney is the only other candidate running consistent paid media in Florida.
Giuliani should be able to capture the win in a four way race and move on to the Super Tuesday states where he will pick up many delegates on his home turf in the northeast.

Day By Day by Chris Muir January 20, 2008
Flap is back after a day at Chumash Casino playing poker.
In the meantime, Senator John McCain won the South Carolina primary and Mitt Romney won the Nevada GOP Caucus. On the Democrat side, Hillary Clinton won the Nevada Democrat Caucus.
Unless, my man Rudy Giuliani can pull off a miracle in Florida and make a comeback on February 5th it looks like a change in the White House this Fall. And, Congress will go even more in the blue column.
Is this the George W. Bush legacy to the GOP?

Vote for Mike Huckabee in South Carolina Tomorrow
Republican presidential hopeful former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee speaks at a campaign stop at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, S.C. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008.
South Carolina GOP voters tomorrow MUST vote for Mike Huckabee.
Everyone knows Flap is a Rudy Giuliani guy. But, if John McCain wins tomorrow McCain may have enough built in momentum to challenge Rudy in Florida in a week. He may have enough Mo to win it all.
The same goes for Mitt Romney supporters. If you want Mitt to have a chance in Florida and Super Tuesday you MUST vote for Mike Huckabee tomorrow.
Do NOT let John McCain win the GOP nomination. McCain will continue to be detrimental to the Republican Party.
So, Flap agrees with Patrick Ruffini completely.
Rudy and Romney supporters vote Huckabee tomorrow.

Mitt Romney Clashes With AP Reporter Over Lobbyist Campaign Adviser Part Two

Republican presidential hopeful, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney argues with AP Reporter Glemn Johnson during a media availability at a Staples store in Columbia, S.C., Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008.
Mitt Romney blows up but the AP reporter is correct. Ron Kaufman, a senior Romney campaign adviser is a registered lobbyist.
Kaufman, the former White House political director for President George H.W. Bush and a lobbyist at the Dutko Group, is a senior adviser to the Romney campaign. He frequently travels with Romney and is intimately involved with the campaign.
Romney, however, parsed his words, angrily telling Johnson that Kaufman doesn’t actually run the campaign.
“I said I don’t have lobbyists running my campaign and he’s not running my campaign,” said Romney, adding that Beth Myers is his campaign manager and she runs the campaign.
But in fact, Romney does employ lobbyists at his campaign and he has lobbyists who advise him regularly on a volunteer basis as he seeks the Republican nomination for president.
- For instance, Thomas D. Rath is a senior adviser who helped guide Romney through the byways of New Hampshire politics. Rath, the former attorney general of New Hampshire, is also a registered lobbyist who represents clients in New England and nationally.
- Former Rep. Vin Weber is a lobbyist at Clark & Weinstock, and he’s the policy chairman for the Romney campaign.
- Barbara Comstock, a communications consultant and frequent spokesperson for Romney on television, is a lobbyist at Corallo Comstock.
- Caeser Conda is an economic policy adviser and a lobbyist at DC Navigators.
- And Warren Tompkins is Romney’s South Carolina consultant, as well as a lobbyist.
Another Mitt Romney spin and lie.
Add this one to the list of Flip-Flops, Lies and Oddities:
- Massachusetts Superior Court Judge Kathe M. Tuttman appointment
- Flip on Abortion
- Campaign finance reform
- Flip on Gay Marriage
- Lied about hunting
- Scientology book one of his favorites
- Poor Mitt’s Dog
- Jay Garrity Trooper Flap
- The Robert Lichfield FLAP
- None of Mitt’s five adult sons had served in the military
- Health Care 2.0 Flip Flop
- PhoneyFred.org Flap
- Tax FLIP
- Log Cabin Ad Flip
- Lawyer’s Test for National Security
- Imaginary Florida Advisers
- NRA Endorsement Lie
Remember:
For the working press it may be one lie too many.
It had been a long time coming. In Michigan, the frustration over Romney’s complete disingeniousness about “bringing your jobs back” conjured a rare degree of camaraderie, and we caucused together and came up with a list of questions that we agreed to ask no matter who got called on at the next press conference. For instance: “If Bain Capital was going to invest in the auto industry, what segment would it invest in, and how would that help Michigan?” Salon’s Mike Madden actually got that in, but it elicited a non-answer: “I’ve been out of the private sector too long to advise people on that kind of thing.” In other words, his experience in the private sector is relevant, until he’s called upon to use it.
For Flap, Romney’s disingenuous nature and his outright dishonesty would negate any possibility he would EVER vote for the man.
