Political Cartoon by Michael Ramirez

Another poll showing that President Obama and Congressional Democrats are in trouble with health care reform legislation.

The health care reform legislation working its way through Congress has lost support over the past month. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 44% of U.S. voters are at least somewhat in favor of the reform effort while 53% are at least somewhat opposed.

Today’s 44% level of support is down from 46% two weeks ago, and 50% in late June.

Opposition has grown from 45% in late June to 49% two weeks ago and 53% today.

As in earlier surveys, those with strong opinions are more likely to oppose the plan rather than support it. The current numbers: 24% strongly favor and 37% strongly oppose.

You cannot fool American voters all of the time and seasoned POLS know how to read the numbers.

The President will go on television to try to rescue his Obamacare reform but will he be successful?

Doubtful…….

The problem is that our current health care system is dependent on excluding part of the population so that the rest can receive quick care.

There is no easy solution to the problems involving health care. This is why everyone must be included in the debate. And by everyone, I mean even the insurance companies, drug companies, individuals, doctors, and insurance companies. So many people have an interest in this and it does not fall on just a select group.

I think we can work with the current system to expand the options to the low and no income population without attempting to overhaul the current system. It would be a cost effective solution and we can benefit from previous experience. It would take time and it should. This Health Care Reform is nothing but grand stading and posturing in the same style that the “stimulus” bill. I strongly oppose it.

Congress needs to follow the first rule of medical care: FIRST DO NO HARM.

Both houses of congress need to “man up”: read, understand and experience all the impact of the proposed legislation. Volunteer themselves, staff and their families to be the first group to get their health care as a control group trial of the legislation. NOT EXEMPT themselves from the effect of legislation!!! Perhaps after five years all members of all three branches of government have lived with the exact details of the proposed legislation……then perhaps the American taxpayers will consider the health care reform for the rest of the American public. Once we see the result on the elite governing class.
