Day By Day August 13, 2012 – Package Deals
Chris, note the “muted” LEFT as compared to when Sarah Palin was chosen.
Paul Ryan is just as much a conservative, but his gravitas and experience have the LEFT scrambling for different lines of attack.
The Presidential election will be a choice – a choice between stagnation and reform.
Let the national conventions and battleground state campaigning begin…..

Day By Day August 12, 2012 – Bunker Economy
Chris, your History Channel is correct.
President Obama’s campaign for re-election is division by demographics. It is a rather simplistic strategy in turning out your constituencies to vote and to hell with policy and actual governance.
My take on the state of the election is that Obama is hanging tough now but without a miracle, like a national security crisis, Obama will gradually fade going into October.
Then, the campaign will become VERY nasty.

Day By Day August 3, 2012 – Bond Obama Bond
Chris, I wonder if President Obama is bonding around the increasing unemployment rate this morning of 8.3%.
The U.S. economy followed up a weak second quarter by creating more jobs than expected with 163,000 new positions added in July, but the unemployment rate rose to 8.3 percent.
Markets reacted positively to the announcement, with the stock market surging at the open and safe-haven bond prices plunging. Economists had been expecting 100,000 new jobs.
As the country struggles to gain growth traction, the unemployment rate held above 8 percent for the 41st consecutive month, according to the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The economy is stagnant and the Obama Campaign has already shot their wad on Romney and Bain Capital.
On to the Vice Presidential selection and the national political conventions…

Day By Day August 2, 2012 – Plumber Crack
President Obama unscripted and without his teleprompter in his Roanoke Speech reiterated his views of “spreading the wealth around.”
To say the least, American small business owners were not too pleased with the President. His staff and the LEFT rallied to re-write his comments, but, like his “Joe the Plumber” incident in 2008, the true policy direction of Obama was out in the open.

Day By Day August 1, 2012 – Petards
Chris, President Obama is used to the “Blame Game.”
Hell, he is still blaming Bush for __________.
You name it.
This is what America should have expected from a POL who earlier in his career voted “Present” and delivers speeches only from a teleprompter.

Day By Day July 31, 2012 – Wild Things
Justice Robert was a big disappointment on ObamaCare and Justice Scalia’s comments on the Second Amendment are unbelievable.
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia outraged conservatives with his remarks on gun control and the Second Amendment this morning in a Fox News interview with Chris Wallace.
Scalia stated that the court may issue gun control rulings in the future due to “precedent” indicating that within the context of the 18th century the Framers of the Constitution allowed for local restrictions on guns and bans on certain types of weapons.
Conservatives immediately cried foul.
In the comment section of the story as reported by The Blaze, conservative reaction to Scalia’s remarks ranged from stunned to outraged.
I think the lifetime tenure of U.S. Supreme Court Justices should really be examined by the Congress and the states. I realize there would need to be a Constitutional Amendment, but it is sorely needed.
Justices serving for life become isolated and are not held accountable to the voters from which their power is derived.

Day By Day July 30, 2012 – Normal
The Democratic Party of Hubert Humphrey and Harry Truman has become obsolete. The Old/New Left of Progressive political ideology has taken over and is driving the Democrat’s narrative.
But, will it make the Democrats a majority party in the Congress?
Doubtful and with today’s social media there will be no subterfuge ala Rahm Emanuel.
President Obama may be the progressives last POL in power for a while – perhaps that is why they are in such a hurry to codify their ideology in law.

Day By Day July 27, 2012 – The Dead Hand of Government
Chris, Vice President and Career POL, Joe Biden, is definitely old school. There will be little appeal to the “YOUTH” vote for the Democrats with “Slow Joe.”
But, I suspect, if the President continues downward in the polls, Joe will retire and Hillary Clinton will suddenly become available.
Bet the farm on this scenario.

Day By Day July 26, 2012 – The Dickens of an Election
Chris, it will be a “Dickens” of an election. The Presidential race will be down and dirty in the few battleground states that remain.
With regards to the Congress, the GOP is projected to do quite well and may very well control both the Senate and House.
