Sarah Palin Watch: Palin Helps GOP and Herself at Vice Presidential Debate
Sarah Palin speaking at GOP post Vice Presidential debate event in St Louis
So, who won the VP debate?Depends upon how you measure. One early poll gives the nod to Joe Biden but Frank Luntz’s focus group of undecided voters gives an overwhelming win to Sarah Palin.
The proof in the pudding will be the tracking polls within a few days but the conventional wisdom is Sarah Palin helped John McCain and especially herself as a future candidate with a stellar performance tonight.
Here is the video of the Frank Luntz focus group:
Flap will have more in the morning but was extremely pleased with Sarah Palin’s performance this evening.

McCain-Palin Giving Up on Michigan: Beginning of the End?
US Democratic presidential candidate Illinois Senator Barack Obama arrives at a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Obama said Thursday the deregulatory zeal endorsed by his Republican rival John McCain had driven the economy to the brink of disaster, as he urged the full Congress to pass a rescue planApparently Team McCain is pulling out of Michigan and will concede the state to Barack Obama. Remembering that John Kerry won Michigan in 2004 by 3.4 % and Al Gore in 2000 by 5.2%
The latest battleground state polls show McCain-Palin cratering in support.
Is this the beginning of the end?
Probably.
Economic turmoil and McCain’s failure to address the concerns of the American people with regards to the economy have caused this downward spiral. The American electorate are not happy and will punish President Bush and the GOP, as they did in 2006.
Team McCain can turn things around but it will take a dedicated effort and some help.

The Boston Globe – In The Bag for Obama
Flap asked yesterday why the Boston Globe was perpetuating the outright LIES about Sarah Palin and the Wasilla Rape Kit Flap.
The Boston Globe (owned by the New York Times) is “IN THE BAG” for Barack Obama. Can you believe an online store of an independent media outlet actually selling this partisan BAG?
What conflict of interest? What BIAS?

Flap Editorial: Replace Gwen Ifill
U.S. vice presidential debate moderator Gwen Ifill sits in a wheelchair after injuring her ankle as she takes part in a walk through at the debate site in St. Louis, Missouri October 1, 2008. The debate between Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE) and Republican vice presidential candidate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is scheduled for October 2Despite John McCain’s weak sauce “Life is not fair” comment, Gwen Ifill should be replaced as tonight’s moderator.
Ifill has a FINANCIAL conflict of interest and what is most disturbing is that she did not see fit to disclose her book deal to the Commission on Presidential Debates.
Ifill said Wednesday that she hasn’t even written her chapter on Obama for the book “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama,” which is to be published by Doubleday on Jan. 20, 2009, the day a new president is inaugurated.
“I’ve got a pretty long track record covering politics and news, so I’m not particularly worried that one-day blog chatter is going to destroy my reputation,” Ifill said. “The proof is in the pudding. They can watch the debate tomorrow night and make their own decisions about whether or not I’ve done my job.”
Dump her….

BarackBook: A Social Network of Obama Shady Friends
From the press release:
The Republican National Committee (RNC) announced today a new Web video, titled “BarackBook.†The video highlights Barack Obama’s ties with the people who helped jump-start his career in politics and those who have helped him along the way, included unapologetic terrorist William Ayers and convicted felon Tony Rezko.
The script:
VO: Over the years, Barack Obama has built a social network of shady political patrons and his list of friends continues to grow.
Tony Rezko is his top friend.
Obama was able to purchase his house $300,000 below list price, while Tony’s wife, Rita, purchased the lot next door for full market value on the same day.
As it turns out, Rezko was also linked to Joe Biden.
Both Biden and Rezko are longtime friends with Joseph Cari, who pled guilty to a federal extortion charge in the Chicago Rezko trial.
He’s been in Biden’s list of friends for 30 years and was his Midwest field director in ’88.
Cari took part in an $850,000 kickback scheme – part of the political fundraising operation for Governor Blagojevich led by Rezko.
And after a few friends posted some links, Biden wrote this on his own wall, “All I know is Joe Cari is a friend, and he’s an honorable guy, but I don’t know anything beyond that.â€
Barack Obama’s social network has quite a cast of characters.
To read about the rest of them, go to BarackBook.com.
This is an interesting and humorous “PLAY” on Facebook social networking in the Obama “Chicago crooked” sort of way.
Check it out……

Hell, I haven’t even written my Obama Chapter yet.Yet, she did NOT inform the the Commission on Presidential Debates about her book.
