Iran Nuclear Watch: Ahmadinejad Sends ANOTHER Letter – This Time to the American People

    irannukenovember29aweb

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is seen November 26, 2006. Ahmadinejad, in a letter to the American people on Wednesday, accused their government of ‘coercion, force and injustice’ and urged the United States to pull out of Iraq.

Reuters: Iranian president: “U.S. governs by coercion”

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in a letter to the American people on Wednesday, accused their government of “coercion, force and injustice” and urged the United States to pull out of Iraq.

Ahmadinejad’s five-page letter also called on Washington to recognize a Palestinian state and cautioned the Democratic Party that, after gaining control of the U.S. Congress, they would be “held to account by the people and by history.”

The letter was given to Reuters by Iran’s Mission to the United Nations.

Ahmadinejad does believe in playing the Western Media cycle and with the Pope in Turkey and President Bush in Jordan, why not?

Now that Bush’s meeting with Iraq Prime Minister al-Maliki has been postponed for another day the WANNABE Hegemons of the Middle East are reveling in their sticking it to the Great Satan and their people.

The Iranian leader, who wrote an 18-page letter to President George W. Bush in May that Bush never responded to, said he was now writing to the American people in friendship because Iran and the United States shared a responsibility “to promote and protect freedom and human dignity and integrity.”

“Governments are there to serve their own people. No people wants to side with or support any oppressors. But regrettably, the U.S. administration disregards even its own public opinion and remains in the forefront of supporting the trampling of the rights of the Palestinian people,” he said.

“It is possible to govern based on an approach that is distinctly different from one of coercion, force and injustice,” Ahmadinejad said.

On Iraq, he said that with a constitution and government now in place, “would it not be more beneficial to bring the U.S. officers and soldiers home, and to spend the astronomical U.S. military expenditures in Iraq for the welfare and prosperity of the American people?”

“As you know very well, many victims of Katrina continue to suffer, and countless Americans continue to live in poverty and homelessness,” he said.

The text of the complete letter is here.

Ahmadinejad and the Iranian Mullahs are NUTTERS who happen to be ISLAMOFASCISTS.

How long will President Bush and Israel negotiate with these crazy maniacal NUTS? And help in the Iraq War – Are you kidding me?

And look at Iranian TV satire of President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Tony Blair and Arnold.

    And Ahmadinejad’s REAL MESSAGE:

Media commentators in the U.S. are likely to pick up on the “public relations” side of the letter. Ahmadinejad calls on the U.S. to bring the troops home from Iraq, to cut off support for Israel, and to stop “kidnapping presumed opponents from across the globe” and holding them in secret prisons.

He even has some advice for the new Democrat majority in Congress: Bend to the Muslim agenda, or you will be tossed out of power.

Ahmadinejad repeatedly tries to appeal to Americans as people of faith, who share Islamic values. “We, like you, are aggrieved by the ever-worsening pain and misery of the Palestinian people,” he drones. “Persistent aggressions by the Zionists are making life more and more difficult for the rightful owners of the land of Palestine.”

And he trots out his old anti-Semitic saw, claiming that “the Zionists” control America “because they have imposed themselves on a substantial portion of the banking, financial, cultural, and media sectors.”

But to focus on these parts of his letter, however silly and objectionable they may be, would be to miss the main point. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not the Hugo Chavez of the Persian Gulf. He knows that soon he will have his finger on the nuclear trigger.

Citing from the Quran at the close of his letter, he says that if Americans “repent” of their “injustice,” they will be blessed with many gifts. “We should all heed the divine Word of the Holy Qur’an,” he says.

The context of this particular verse (28:67-28, Sura “Al-Qasas,” or The Narration), is very clear. It follows a graphic description of destruction and devastation that will befall those who fail to repent of their injustice.

It also sets out the terms of the tradition Muslim warning to the enemies of Allah. “And never will your Lord destroy the towns until He sends to their mother town a Messenger reciting to them Our Verses.” This is is precisely what Ahmadinejad is doing in his letter.

Dump Bush, allow the Muslims to destroy Israel, and adopt Islam — or else you will be destroyed. This is Ahmadinejad’s message.

Time to move the “POINT OF NO RETURN” nuclear clock up a few minutes.

Bill Frist Watch: Frist OUT of 2008 Presidential Race

Graphic Courtesy of Ace and Slublog.

Reuters (Via Allah): Republican Frist says he will not seek White House

Republican U.S. Senate Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee said on Wednesday he would not run for the White House in 2008 and will return to his medical practice after he leaves the U.S. Congress in January.

Frist, a surgeon who served two terms, had been preparing for a possible presidential run for more than a year but said he decided this was not the time.

“In the Bible, God tells us for everything there is a season, and for me, for now, this season of being an elected official has come to a close. I do not intend to run for president in 2008,” Frist said in a statement.

    Good choice for Senator Frist.

He was a disaster as Senate Majority leader and……

After his Afghanistan Taliban Gaff, what little chance he had as a Vice President pick evaporated.

Next ……until Guiliani and McCain remain………

Newt Gingrich Watch: Limit Free Speech = Early EXIT from Presidential Race

    gingerichnovember29bweb

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich chats with members of the Loeb family during dinner before speaking at the 4th Annual First Amendment Awards Honors event hosted by the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, in Manchester, N.H.

NY Sun: Gingrich: Free Speech Should Be Curtailed To Fight Terrorism

A former House speaker, Newt Gingrich, is causing a stir by proposing that free speech may have to be curtailed in order to fight terrorism.

“We need to get ahead of the curve rather than wait until we actually literally lose a city, which I think could literally happen in the next decade if we’re unfortunate,” Mr. Gingrich said Monday night during a speech in New Hampshire. “We now should be impaneling people to look seriously at a level of supervision that we would never dream of if it weren’t for the scale of the threat.”

Speaking at an award dinner billed as a tribute to crusaders for the First Amendment, Mr. Gingrich, who is considering a run for the White House in 2008, painted an ominous picture of the dangers facing America.

“This is a serious, long-term war,” the former speaker said, according an audio excerpt of his remarks made available yesterday by his office. “Either before we lose a city or, if we are truly stupid, after we lose a city, we will adopt rules of engagement that use every technology we can find to break up their capacity to use the Internet, to break up their capacity to use free speech, and to go after people who want to kill us to stop them from recruiting people.”

    Right.

Just as people are understanding the Islamofascist threat, tell them that their precious Bill of Rights will be changed/eliminated to fight Muslims.

    Are you kidding Flap.

It is within the framework of “FREE SPEECH” that the fight against terrorism is waged.

Captain Ed has his analysis here.

The remedy for bad speech is more speech. The solution to radical mosques is to enforce immigration laws and to tighten visa requirements to keep radicals from entering the US. If people want to advocate for terrorist attacks and the violent overthrow of our elected government, then they have already broken the law, and it requires no sacrifice from Americans to prosecute such people. Free speech and religious freedom did not cause terrorism; in fact, the lack of both causes it. If Gingrich wants to offer the hair of the dog as a solution, then he will find himself very lonely on the campaign trail for the next two years.

Put a FORK in Newt’s Presidential ambitions – Gingrich is DONE.

Nancy Pelosi Watch: Pelosi WIMPS Out – Will NOT Appoint Alcee Hastings Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee

    pelosi-hastingsweb

Reuters: Pelosi rejects Hastings bid to head committee

Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings of Florida, impeached as a federal judge in 1989 on corruption charges, dropped his bid under pressure on Tuesday to chair a congressional panel designed to help protect America’s security, a party aide said.

Hastings took the action after being told by Rep. Nancy Pelosi, in line to head the U.S. House of Representatives when the new Congress convenes in January, that she would not give him the coveted job, the aide said.

Nancy loses her battle to have Jack Murtha appointed Majority Leader and now reneges on appointing Hastings to Chair the House Intelligence Committee – angering the Democrat Black Caucus.

    Does this show pragmatism?

    Doubtful….

Even a MORON would not appoint good ol’ Alcee – impeached federal judge and all.

But will the new Speaker appoint Jane Harman?

    No way…….

    Flap says NO WAY…….

Look for the third in line – you know the back bencher Latino Congressman – what’s his name?

    Texas Rep. Silvestre Reyes

But, there may be some other candidates:

Rep. Norman D. Dicks (D-Wash.), a hawkish member of the Appropriations defense subcommittee

Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.), a conservative African American with experience on the intelligence committee.

Michael Ramirez on Iran Helping Iraq

    ramireztoon112806web

Like a Fox in the Hen House

Reuters: Iran says will do all it can to help Iraq

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday Iran would do whatever it could to help provide security to Iraq amid warnings the country was on the brink of civil war.

Ahmadinejad made his pledge to help Iraq at the start of a visit to Iran by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, whose trip was delayed because of a curfew imposed after Thursday’s bombing in a Shi’ite Muslim stronghold of Baghdad which killed 202 people. The curfew was lifted on Monday.

“The Iranian nation and government will definitely stand beside their brother, Iraq, and any help the government and nation of Iran can give to strengthen security in Iraq will be given,” Ahmadinejad said, Iran’s ISNA news agency reported.

“We have no limitation for cooperation in any field,

Political analysts said Iran may try to use the talks Talabani to show off its influence to Washington and bolster its position ahead of any dialogue with its old enemy. They also said Iran’s ability to stem the bloodshed in Iraq was limited.

U.S. officials say the violence is fueled by Iran’s backing for Shi’ite groups and its weapons exports. Iran denies the charge.

Right, Iran will help Iraq as they take over the country as the regional hegemon.

Flap doesn’t look for much Iranian HELP any time soon.

    Cox & Forkum: Deal Breaker

CNN: 13,000 Palestinian security forces maintain cease-fire

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday ordered 13,000 security forces to deploy near the border to enforce a cease-fire agreement with Israel, sources in Abbas’ office told CNN.

The move came hours after Palestinian militants in Gaza apparently launched nearly a dozen rockets toward Israel.

Abbas also called on the Palestinian factions who previously negotiated the cease-fire to meet again to ensure the agreement holds, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told reporters Sunday.

The Israeli leader said his country will not take immediate action in the wake of the violations.

“Israel is a powerful country that can allow itself to show restraint and to give the cease-fire a chance to be fully implemented,” Olmert said.

Hamas’ militant wing and the Islamic Jihad militant group claimed responsibility for firing several rockets into Israel after the cease-fire took effect at 6 a.m. (11 p.m. ET Sunday).

In its leaflet, Islamic Jihad said it will “hold our right for resistance as long as Israel continues its aggression.”

And the cease-fire with Hezbollah is tenuous with the recent assassination of Lebanese Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel.

Two war fronts for Israel and also Iran. The Israelis have their plate full.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Watch: Schwarzenegger Has Problems with the GOP

    arnoldnovember26aweb

In this photograph provided by ‘Meet the Press,’ California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appears on ‘Meet the Press’’ Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at the NBC studios in Washington.

AP: Schwarzenegger could have problems with restless GOP in Legislature

RepublicanGov. Arnold Schwarzenegger won re-election by courting independents and Democrats, but his biggest problem in 2007 may be finding common purpose with his own party.

Although Republicans are the minority in the Legislature, party leaders do not plan to be passive partners as Schwarzenegger contends with a projected $5.5 billion budget gap and a dangerously crowded prison system while planning to extend health coverage to millions of uninsured Californians.

With the election behind them, Assembly Republicans have installed a new leader, Mike Villines, R-Clovis, a conservative known to be unafraid of confrontation.

In the Senate, Minority Leader Dick Ackerman, R-Tustin, said members are going to be skeptical of any new, big-ticket programs – health-care included.

“The biggest thing is going to be the budget,” Ackerman said, citing the looming deficit. When it comes to holding spending in check, “We are going to be taking a much stronger position on that.”

The Governator will have more problems than the California state budget. There are a number of reasons for California GOP angst:

    1. Susan Kennedy – A Lesbian ultra-lib Gray Davis staffer says it all

    2. Justice Carol Corrigan – A moderate GOP California Supreme Court Justice appointed to replace conservative Janice Rogers Brown

    3. Global Warming

    4. Democrat Party staff appointments

    5. Failure to help other GOP candidates in the last election particularly McClintock and McPherson

    6. The “Hot Blood” FLAP where Schwarzenegger ridiculed conservative GOP legislators

Bill Whalen of the Weekly Standard Weighs in with True Lies

The Schwarzenegger model of success isn’t coming to Washington any time soon.

If anything, California’s vaunted bipartisanship will soon be put to the test–make that, a series of tests. The state faces a $5 billion deficit. A strong economy may produce enough revenue to fill the hole, which is what happened this year. If not, the choices are spending cuts or higher taxes. Both the governor and the Legislature want to enact healthcare reform, yet neither side can agree on its scope or the means of financing. Other headaches loom: overcrowded prisons and overflowing pension costs being but two problems that were conveniently sidestepped this past year.

Can bipartisanship continue to reign supreme? Time will tell which climate is the real California: a summer of love or a winter of discontent.

The Governor won his election but a huge margin but has spelled nothing but disaster for the California Republican Party.

Why should GOP legislators nestled in their gerrymandered and safe districts vote to help Arnold?

If Arnold thinks he can run over the HARD-ASSED new group of GOP Assembly members he better switch parties tomorrow. Cooperation will be NIL.

And Schwarzenegger REALLY thinks he can run in a GOP primary election again and win?

    Stay tuned…….
