Missile Defense Watch: Vandenberg AFB Ground-Based Interceptor Missile Test is Successful
A U.S. interceptor missile on Friday shot down a dummy warhead replicating an incoming North Korean missile in the seventh successful test of Boeing Co’s long-range missile shield, the Pentagon said.
The Missile Defense Agency said in a statement it completed a test “involving a successful intercept by a ground-based interceptor missile designed to protect the United States against a limited long-range ballistic missile attack.”
The interceptor missile was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base on California’s central coast, and its target was fired from Alaska’s Kodiak Island.
“We got it,” said test witness Riki Ellison, president of the private Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance, a group funded in part by missile shield contractors. “It was a success.”
Now, what excuse will the Democrats have in Congress to reduce funding for National Missile Defense?
Opps Flap spoke too soon. No test is good enough for the NAYSAYER Democrats:
“Once again, there were no countermeasures or decoys used, making this test one of the simplest, easiest, flight intercept tests they’ve ever tried,” Philip Coyle, the Pentagon’s chief weapons tester under former President Bill Clinton, said in a statement e-mailed to Reuters.
Stay tuned……

Bill Clinton Will Not Divulge Presidential Library Donors
The Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas
ABC News’ Rick Klein and Eloise Harper Report: Former president Bill Clinton said Thursday that he will not reveal the names of donors to the Clinton Presidential Library unless he is required to by law, rebuffing pressure from his wife’s rivals for more disclosure.
“We don’t believe in one set of rules for us and another set for everybody else,” the former president said at a news conference in New York. “The people that have already given me money, I don’t think I should disclose it unless there is some conflict of which I am aware — and there is not — because a lot of people gave me money with the understanding that they could give anonymously. And if they gave publicly they would be the target for every other politician in America.”
At Wednesday night’s Democratic presidential debate, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., said she was “sure [the former president would] be happy to consider” making public the names of donors to the library. But she refused to say whether she had asked him to do so.
The law should be changed to include former Presidents.
Clinton’s list WOULD be revealing……….

Presidential Electors Initiative Watch: Is it OVER?
Graphic Courtesy of California Majority Report
Days after a controversial organization began collecting voter signatures for a ballot measure to change California’s winner-take-all presidential vote, a founder of the GOP-backed group says its major players are resigning – and the group will fold – due to lack of funding and support.
“The levels of support just weren’t there,” said Marty Wilson, the Sacramento-based fundraiser, in a telephone interview Thursday.
Wilson was among the founding members of Californians for Equal Representation, the group led by Sacramento attorney Thomas Hiltachk that intended to collect roughly 434,000 signatures to qualify the Presidential Election Reform Act for the June 2008 ballot.
So, is electoral college delegate reform over for the 2008 Presidental election cycle?
Probably………
But, Electoral Reform California Initiative has qualified and is currently circulating for signatures. However, its signature deadline is within 60 days.
And this initiative does not have the funny business – butt biting -Â associated.
Looks like a dead issue to Flap. Or is it?
The Electoral Reform California Initiative web site is here.

Iran Nuclear Watch: Iran Sanctions Delayed AGAIN
World powers delay Iran sanctions action
The world’s major powers agreed on Friday to delay a vote on tougher sanctions on Iran until late November at the earliest, depending on reports by the U.N. nuclear watchdog and a European Union negotiator.
The outcome was a temporary setback for the United States and France, which had sought swifter action to step up economic and political pressure on the Islamic Republic over its refusal to halt uranium enrichment, which the West suspects is aimed at developing nuclear arms.
More delay and obfuscation.
Face it folks. Russia, China and Germany have too many trade ties to Iran to vote harsh economic sanctions.
Flap continues to wonder why President Bush is waiting?

Presidential Primary Election Calendar Begins to Finalize
*****Update*****
Iowa, NH Eye New Caucus, Primary Dates
Iowans could still be humming Auld Lang Syne as they gather to choose among presidential candidates, thanks to decisions by other states to move up their election dates.
Party leaders in Iowa are edging toward holding the state’s leadoff caucuses as early as Jan. 3, although they’ll hold off on a decision until New Hampshire selects a date for the nation’s first primary.
“There are only a couple of days that work, and we don’t want to go into December,” said Iowa GOP head Chuck Laudner, who mentioned Jan. 3, 4 and 5 as dates being considered.
Iowa and New Hampshire have made clear they won’t stand pat as states such as Michigan and Florida move up their election dates, but don’t expect a decision soon. New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner has the sole power to schedule his state’s primary, and he’s not talking.
“I’m not any closer,” Gardner said Thursday. “I can’t (pick a date) at the moment because I don’t know.”
Wow!
January 3rd?
Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani visits with local residents during a brief presidential campaign stop, Thursday, September 27, 2007 in Santa Barbara, California. This lady waited outside Joe’s Cafe for at least two hours to get this autograph.
The Presidential Primary Calendar is starting to finalize:
- Jan. 5: Iowa caucuses (both parties)
- Jan. 8: New Hampshire primary (both parties)
- Jan. 12: Nevada caucuses (both parties)
- Jan. 15 Michigan GOP primary; Dem beauty contest
- Jan. 19: South Carolina primary (both parties)
- Jan. 29: Florida GOP primary; Dem beauty contest
- Feb. 5 Super Duper Tuesday including California, and Illinois
Californians will begin to vote by mail the first week in January.
Stay tuned to see if indeed this will be the final calendar.

Michael Ramirez on Hillary Care 2.0
Now, Hillary wants to give $5,000 for EVERY baby.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday that every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 “baby bond” from the government to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home.
Clinton, her party’s front-runner in the 2008 race, made the suggestion during a forum hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus.
“I like the idea of giving every baby born in America a $5,000 account that will grow over time, so that when that young person turns 18 if they have finished high school they will be able to access it to go to college or maybe they will be able to make that downpayment on their first home,” she said.
The New York senator did not offer any estimate of the total cost of such a program or how she would pay for it. Approximately 4 million babies are born each year in the United States.
As if her Hillary Care 2.0 health care proposal wasn’t budget busting enough. This latest GAFFE continues to highlight how UNREALISTIC she is.
Didn’t Democrat Senator George McGovern running for President in 1972 make a similar proposal?
McGovern’s platform also included an across-the-board, 37% reduction in defense spending over three years [White p. 123]; and a “demogrant” program giving $1,000 to every citizen in America [White p. 125] that was later changed to creating a $6,500 guaranteed minimum income for Americans, and was later dropped from the platform.
And where did that get him? Right, a landslide loss.
Keep it up Hillary – PANDER SOME MORE.

Rudy Giuliani Watch: Former California Governor Pete Wilson Endorses Giuliani for President
[youtube]http://youtube.com/watch?v=pKE-VETRgps[/youtube]
Flap attended the endorsement announcement yesterday morning at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, California. The above is one of six videos that Flap recorded.
Ok, so former Governor Pete Wilson endorses Rudy what does it mean?
Two words:
1. Fundraising
2. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s quasi endorsement
Governor Wilson’s fundraising cabal is still intact after all of these years. In fact, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s chief fundraiser, Marty Wilson, was a top aide (in various positions) for Governor Wilson for at least a decade.
Who aided the Governator in his recall election against Democrat Governor Gray Davis?
Why, the Wilson folks.
Flap thought it was presumptuous the California Republican Party last February gave Rudy the run of the California Republican Convention in Sacramento. If you recall it was at the convention that Rudy announced for the Presidency.
I was told by a source at the time Rudy had the consent of the Governor.
Now, the connection is apparent.
Will Arnold Schwarzenegger endorse Rudy prior to the February 5, 2007 primary election.
Flap says count on it if Rudy maintains his lead in the California and national polls.
