Mohammed Cartoon Watch: Sudan Urges Boycott of Denmark

    islamcartoonsumjpgweb

President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan today called upon the Muslim World to boycott Denmark because of the Mohammed cartoons.

President Omar al-Bashir said Wednesday that he would bar Danes from Sudan and told tens of thousands of people at a government-backed rally that the Muslim world should boycott Denmark because of a reprinted cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad.

“We urge all Muslims around the world to boycott Danish commodities, goods, companies, institutions, organizations and personalities,” al- Bashir told the crowd outside the Republic Palace in downtown Khartoum.

“Down, down, Denmark!” shouted the crowd. Al-Bashir vowed that “not a single Danish foot will from now on desecrate the land of Sudan.”

It was not clear whether al-Bashir planned to act on his rhetoric and force out the hundreds of Danes who work in Sudan, most in aid organizations, with a dozen in the U.N. peacekeeping force in southern Sudan. Danish diplomats in Khartoum said they had not been notified of a new trade boycott and that Sudanese authorities had not notified them about expelling Danes.

Seventeen Danish newspapers reprinted the cartoon showing Muhammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban this month in a gesture of solidarity after police said they uncovered a plot to kill the cartoon’s artist.

Sudan was one of the nations where large protests were held against Denmark in 2006 when the cartoon and 11 others depicting Muhammad and Islam were first published. In riots that followed around the Muslim world, dozens of people were killed and several Danish embassies were attacked, while Danish goods were boycotted.

Flap says SUPPORT Denmark for allowing freedom of speech. Do NOT let these Islamic extremists crush freedom of expression.

MM asks why aren’t ANY American diplomats saying ANYTHING about this outrage?

In the meantime, how about SUPPORTING DENMARK.

American Al Qaeda’s Adam Gadahn is Missing

Adam Gadahn as featured on the FBI’s Most Wanted List

Adam Gadahn, the American spokesman for Al Qaeda is missing.

Where is accused terrorist Adam Gadahn?

That’s what Taliban sources along the Afghan-Pakistan border are wondering about the American-born al-Qaida member. Gadahn, known as Azzam al-Ameriki (Azzam the American), joined al-Qaida in 2003 and has appeared in several bombastic al-Qaida videos since then.U.S. intelligence officials have heard the same rumors, but tell NBC News that they have no information to suggest Gadahn is dead. They specifically deny that Gadahn was killed in the same Predator missile attack that killed al-Qaida’s #4, Abu Laith al-Libi, last week near the town of Mir Ali in Pakistan’s North Waziristan province. Gadahn was visiting Mir Ali at the time, according to a local man who describes himself as a friend of Gadahn’s.

Jihadist sources on the Pakistan side of the border are telling local journalists they are worried. One who described himself as a “very close friend” of Gadahn said the 28-year-old California native had until recently been spending most of his time in the populated areas of South Waziristan, near the towns of Wana, Azam Warsak and Shahkai.

The same friend said Gadahn had left for North Waziristan a week before the Predator attack in Mir Ali, where he was supposed to attend “an important meeting”. The friend said that, after the Predator attack on January 31, they lost “all contact” with Gadahn.

What a shame if this traitor has been killed – especially by an American military attack.

    But, who knows?

This scum bag may have survived only to resurface again to spew his Al Qaeda terrorist CRAP.

John McCain Mocks Obama Iraq War Views in Iraq War Dust-up

    *****Update*****

John McCain mocks Barack Obama on Al Qaeda in Iraq

Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., speaks during a town hall meeting at the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008.

Has the general election campaign already started?

John McCain has started MOCKING Barack Obama on his Iraq War views.

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain mocked Democrat Barack Obama on Wednesday for saying he would take action as president “if al-Qaida is forming a base in Iraq.”

“When you examine that statement, it’s pretty remarkable,” McCain told a crowd in Tyler, Texas.

“I have some news. Al-Qaida is in Iraq. It’s called `al-Qaida in Iraq,'” McCain said, drawing laughter at Obama’s expense.

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., addresses a rally Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in Columbus, Ohio. Obama and Republican presidential hopeful John McCain traded sharp barbs Wednesday over al-Qaida’s presence in Iraq, both suggesting the other held naive views.

    And, then Obama strikes back:

Obama quickly answered back, telling a rally at Ohio State University in Columbus, “I do know that al-Qaida is in Iraq.”

“So I have some news for John McCain,” he added, saying there was no al-Qaida presence in Iraq until President Bush invaded the country.

Noting that McCain likes to tell audiences that he’d follow Osama bin Laden to the “gates of hell” to catch him, Obama taunted: “All he (McCain) has done is to follow George Bush into a misguided war in Iraq.”

Obama and the Democrats will be betting their election to the Presidency by America losing a war in Iraq? The Obama and anti-war blame Bush game ALREADY failed with Howard Dean and John Kerry in 2004.

Conditions are better on the ground in Iraq and progress is being made. So, now is the time to surrender and withdraw?

    Hardly.

But, keep up the discourse, Barack and tell us about all of your military experience and your qualifications to become Commander in Chief.

Day By Day by Chris Muir

With John McCain NOW leading Hillary and Obama in the national general election polls, it is CLEAR that conservatives are supporting Mac.

Conservatives will grumble and whine but ONLY a FEW will stay home or vote for a third party candidate.

When Obama is exposed as the nanny-state radical leftist that he is, voters in Middle America and the South will vote for McCain.

    Election over.

Sarah Palin, the Republican Governor of Alaska says she IS interested in national office. Palin is refreshingly honest and definitely a rising star in the GOP.

She discounts the possibility that John McCain would pick her for Vice President this year but should Hillary Clinton make a comeback and win the Democrat nomination, Governor Palin would be on everyone’s short list.

A new generation of Republican pols will lead the party and Governor Palin is one such leader.

    Pakistan Lifts You Tube Ban

From the BBC: Pakistan’s Attempt to Block YouTube Causes Two-Hour Global Site Blackout

Pakistan has relented and lifted their ban of the media giant, YouTube.

Pakistan said Tuesday that it has lifted a ban on YouTube after the website removed cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, adding that an earlier worldwide outage sparked by its actions was unintentional.

Telecommunications officials told AFP that the popular website was up and running again in the conservative Muslim nation after YouTube removed “highly profane and sacrilegious footage” that was offensive to Islam.

“We have issued instructions to all Internet service providers that YouTube should be unblocked as the specific content has been removed by the website,” Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) spokesman Khurram Mehran told AFP.

YouTube was not immediately available to confirm whether it had removed the material, which the PTA said was controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed that were republished by Danish newspapers earlier this month.

So, why did Pakistan block YouTube and inadvertently bollock up a good deal of Asia’s internet traffic on Sunday? Some say it was Mohammed Cartoons like this:

    islm_cartoon_7

Or was it because of a Geert Wilders Promo for his Islamic critical film Forbidden:

Some in Pakistan say it was the Musharraf government preventing local television coverage of voter fraud being broadcast around the world.

Some Pakistani users have expressed doubts over the official reason for Pakistan’s YouTube ban, saying that authorities wanted to block access to footage of alleged rigging in last week’s parliamentary elections.

President Pervez Musharraf’s allies lost heavily to opposition parties in the polls, which were preceded by allegations of massive vote fraud.

“Some Internet users are sceptical that the government banned YouTube because it contained clips from a private television station which showed election rigging,” said Wahaj us Siraj, chief of the Pakistan Internet Service Providers Association.

Internet user Sajid Ali said the ban was unnecessary because Muslims in Pakistan would not want to access blasphemous material anyway.

“No Muslim would want to view the blasphemous content on any website. The government is really disturbed over its defeat in elections and afraid of critical videos and remarks on YouTube,” Ali, a banker, told AFP.

In any case, the outage highlights governments ability to censure internet content. A warning for us all and certainly a wake-up for internet content providers.

Geert Wilders Promo for film Forbidden

Yesterday evening Flap had the story about the government of Pakistan ordering the block of American media giant You Tube because of Islamic religious objections.

First, it was the Mohammed Cartoons and international newspaper censorship and riots in the Muslim world. Now, it is the government of Pakistan censoring electronic media, You Tube, in the name of religion.

Pakistan has ordered all Internet service providers to block the YouTube website for containing “blasphemous” content and material considered offensive to Islam, officials said Sunday.

An inter-ministerial committee has decided to block YouTube because it contained “blasphemous content, videos and documents,” a government official told Agence France-Presse. “The site will remain blocked till further orders.”

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) told the country’s 70 Internet service providers Friday that the popular website would be blocked until further notice, the Associated Press reports.

The authority did not specify what the offensive material was, but a PTA official said the ban concerned a movie trailer for an upcoming film by Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders, who has said he plans to release an anti-Koran movie portraying the religion as fascist and prone to inciting violence against women and homosexuals.

The PTA official, who asked not to be identified because he was not an official spokesman, said the PTA also blocks web sites that show controversial drawings of the prophet Muhammad.

An extended interview with popular Dutch Member of Parliament Geert Wilders on his upcoming anti-Koran film for Dutch television. Also discussed – Muslim immigration, tolerance and democracy.

But, apparently, Pakistan blocked more than just Pakistan’s access to You Tube.

Most of the world’s Internet users lost access to YouTube for several hours Sunday after an attempt by Pakistan’s government to block access domestically affected other countries.

The outage highlighted yet another of the Internet’s vulnerabilities, coming less than a month after broken fiber-optic cables in the Mediterranean took Egypt off line and caused communications problems from the Middle East to India.

An Internet expert explained that Sunday’s problems arose when a Pakistani telecommunications company accidentally identified itself to Internet computers as the world’s fastest route to YouTube. But instead of serving up videos of skateboarding dogs, it sent the traffic into oblivion.

On Friday, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority ordered 70 Internet service providers to block access to YouTube.com, because of anti-Islamic movies on the video-sharing site, which is owned by Google.

The block was intended to cover only Pakistan, but extended to about two-thirds of the global Internet population, starting at 1:47 p.m. ET Sunday, according to Renesys Corp., a Manchester, N.H., firm that keeps track of the pathways of the Internet for telecommunications companies and other clients.

The greatest effect was in Asia, were the outage lasted for up to two hours, Renesys said.

    And, why?

To silence Dutch member of Parliament Geert Wilders who just happens to have an anti-radical Islamic film about to debut on You Tube.

No freedom of speech in Pakistan. But, other countries had better work with Google to correct the ability of one country to limit internet access to the rest of the world.
