There is HOPE that Americans with $4 plus a gallon gasoline that energy independence may become important. There is an aversion to drilling domestically at ANWR and off of our sea coasts so the development of alternative technologies including biofuels will become a priority.
Is this the free market at work?
Finally….

If the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee (NRCC) wishes to CONTAIN their losses this November they must aggressively produce and campaign on a national agenda. Former Speaker Newt Gingrich the architect of the Contract with America and who successfully won GOP control of the House has produced one such plan.
The NRCC has two choices:
- FIGHT
- SURRENDER
Which will it be?

The track record of the National Republican Congressional Committee has been horrible. Some pundits blame President Bush. Some, including California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger blame the GOP brand and the RIGHT.
John McCain’s shift and pandering to the LEFT will NOT help the GOP this fall. Perhaps a “Bob Dole” type loss to Barack Obama in November will re-vitalize the GOP as Ford’s loss to Jimmy Carter – giving us Ronald Reagan four years later.

Barack Obama has created a FLAP with his APPEASEMENT foreign policy. And, the CUT and RUNNING shoe DOES fit.

The Reagan GOP coalition is fractured and may be irreparably broken. The Libertarian wing of the party has separated itself with Bob Barr’s Presidential candidacy. Ron Paul, also, will represent some of these voters along with some of the Pat Buchanan neo-isolationist zealots.
Will John McCain be able to win against a unified and motivated LEFT?
Possible, but Mac and the national GOP better start listening to Newt and Karl Rove – and FAST.

Electing Obama or Hillary will mean the State Department will CAVE to the demands of Europe, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and other nations rather than negotiate trade and defense agreements from an American-centric perspective.
Remember when Madeleine Albright, Secretary of State, under President Bill Clinton was clinking glasses with North Korea’s Kim Jong-Il and giving him a signed Michael Jordan basketball while he was breaching a nuclear arms accord which later resulted in a nuclear weapons test during the Bush Administration? What kind of negotiations are these? Peace through weakness?
What would Obama give Iran’s President Ahmadinejad? A clear path to test a medium range missile into Israel or Turkey? How about Greece or Italy?

Even with Hillary’s vicotry last night in West Virginia it is becoming increasingly clear that Barack Obama will be the Democrat nominee for President. With last night’s MS-1 Special Congressional race debacle for the GOP, Obama indeed may be elected the next President.
Are American voters experiencing Bush or is it GOP fatigue? Both have been long on promises and short on delivery.
Or do the Democrats simply WANT it more?
John McCain will have to prove very soon that he is NOT another Bob Dole or it will be a very long summer and fall.

The legislative accomplishments of Hillary and Obama are very slim but if voters want change? But, what does this mean? The legislative agendas of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Howard Dean? Or the mega-unions that control the Democrat Party?
If John McCain was smart, he would focus on the”inexperience factor” and quit trying to appease the “Global Warming Freaks.”
Flap is away in Las Vegas, Nevada for Mrs. Flap’s birthday and blogging will be light the next few days.
