Should South Carolina GOP Chairman Katon Dawson Withdraw as a Candidate for Chair of the Republican National Committee?

Katon Dawson

South Carolina Republican Chairman Katon Dawson

The answer is YES.

Double YES

Three Strikes and you are OUT.

State GOP chairman Katon Dawson, who is campaigning to lead the national Republican Party organization, has resigned a 12-year membership in a whites-only Columbia country club.

Dawson said last week his continued membership at Forest Lake Club could become a distraction to his efforts to help win elections for Republicans in South Carolina.

With the upcoming inauguration of the first African-American President of the United States does the Republican Party want to deal with this “BAGGAGE.” Not really a winning message, is it?

Gee, POTUS would NOT be allowed to play golf there?

Katon Dawson should withdraw his candidacy.

Well, it looks like you’ve got The Keith Olbermann Talking Points down pat. Unfortunately, the “Keith Olbermann Crowd” never let the facts get in the way of their reporting. I wonder why the the Chairman of S.C. Black Caucus (i.e a Democrat) and the former SC Democratic Party Chairman (i.e. one of Obama’s earliest supporters) both said there’s not a rascist bone in Katon Dawson’s body? Perhaps it’s because they know him and his true character. The “story” you refer to was shopped to the press by Madison Avenue Rockefeller GOP types after they learned of Katon’s efforts to get others to do the right thing. Katon Dawson is a small business, main street, inclusive Republican, who will return the party to it’s roots. The Madison Avenue slickster consultants who have run the GOP into the dirt and have made a good living doing so know that the gravy train will come to an end with Katon as RNC Chairman.

Whether he is racist or not is irrelevant.

The leader of the party must understand public relations and care about our image. He should have quit the whites only club years ago, maybe decades ago, if he wants to be the face of the party. It shows stupidity that he didn’t.

No Katon Dawson should not withdraw his bid for the Chairmanship of the RNC. He is a fine candidate. We need to learn to not shrink from him because of the disappointing fact about the club membership. In my research about this I found many interesting things that point to him not being guilty of racism, but rather not being aware of what was in the deed to the club. The restriction was in the land deed and not the membership manual apparently. The fact that he attempted to change the policy and resigned when it wasn’t speaks volumes.

I prefer to listen to comments of people that know him like party activists and even the Black Caucus Chair who say he is not racist.

Weather he is racist is relevant. The public relations of the matter is easy. When confronted, get out there tell the truth and facts of the case and let these facts, all of them, sand for themselves. What about that he did not realize that there were membership restrictions? Appearantly he believed that because blacks could play on the course that they could be members. This seems to be a logical conclusion.

I sense a huge setup by the RINO contingency…

This happens every single time Republicans start returning to “Conservative” and abandoning the “Main Street Republicans” who embrace the likes of open borders and call everyone else “xenophobes” and “racists” if and when they have so much as one “White” relative anywhere anytime or themselves may look or, yeegads, are themselves White.

The whole point is that this “you’re a racist” screed is USED for purposes of increasingly adopting the GOP to be a Liberal version of the Democrats, who have since gone Communist. Seriously, I mean that.

This guy sure seems to have been subjected to a massive P.R. avalanche by the “you’re a racist” crowd and that means, the RINOs. They truly revile Conservatives, as much as Democrats do.
