SCOTUS Watch: Rehnquist Returns to Hospital
The ASSociated Press has Chief Justice Returns to Hospital.
Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist was taken to the hospital with a fever on Thursday, the second emergency treatment for the 80-year-old ailing justice in two months.
Rehnquist, who has cancer, was taken to Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., for evaluation after developing a fever, said Supreme Court spokesman Ed Turner.
The chief justice spent two nights at the same hospital in July for observation and tests, also after running a fever.
Rehnquist had been working at the court earlier in the day and has maintained a full-time schedule while being treated for thyroid cancer.
What a TRUE Tribute to America.

Air America Scandel: No MSM Coverage …..YET
The Investors Business Daily has Big Fat Yawn.
Media: Rush Limbaugh’s prescription drug troubles were splashed all over the media. Yet a financial scandal rocking a leftist radio network rates no coverage.
The mainstream media, fixated on bringing down Karl Rove, have so far deemed apparent funding irregularities at Air America unworthy of note. But that doesn’t make them any less of story.
So….what else is new.
The Leftie press covers for their Leftie media friends all of the time.

I write about Air America in today’s WeeklyStandard.com column, “The Air Out There.” So do the editors of Investors Business Daily. Both pieces note that the media obsessed over Rush Limbaugh’s troubles, but that there is near-perfect silence within elite media on the subject. If there is fraud and illegal inurement in a forest, and nobody hears about it, did it really happen?
N.Z.Bear has a handy chart of bloggers contributing to the story. Perhaps before the weekend at least one paper or newsmagazine that covered Air America’s launch will find at least one-tenth of that amount of space to cover the funding that launched the launch. UPDATE: Macho Nachos chews on the legal details.
So, Hugh are you saying the MSM are hypocrites with regards to Rush Limbaugh and Air America?

New York Times: Robert’s Children Under Investigation
Pretty Sad but Drudge has NY TIMES INVESTIGATES ADOPTION RECORDS OF SUPREME COURT NOMINEE’S CHILDREN.
The NEW YORK TIMES is looking into the adoption records of the children of Supreme Court Nominee John G. Roberts, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
The TIMES has investigative reporter Glen Justice hot on the case to investigate the status of adoption records of Judge Roberts’ two young children, Josie age 5 and Jack age 4, a top source reveals.
Judge Roberts and his wife Jane adopted the children when they each were infants.
Both children were adopted from Latin America.
A TIMES insider claims the look into the adoption papers are part of the paper’s “standard background check.”
Roberts’ young son Jack delighted millions of Americans during his father’s Supreme Court nomination announcement ceremony when he wouldn’t stop dancing while the President and his father spoke to a national television audience.
Previously the WASHINGTON POST Style section had published a story criticizing the outfits Mrs. Roberts had them wear at the announcement ceremony.
One top Washington official with knowledge of the NEW YORK TIMES action declared: “Trying to pry into the lives of the Roberts’ family like this is despicable. Children’s lives should be off limits. The TIMES is putting politics over fundamental decency.â€
One top Republican official when told of the situation was incredulous. “This can’t possibly be true?â€
Come on!

California Special Election: Full Speed Ahead
An analysis by the nonpartisan California legislative counsel that states California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger can cancel the November special election does NOT mean he will do it.
The ruling Tuesday, which was drafted at the request of state Sen. Debra Bowen, D-Redondo Beach, came as another Democratic lawmaker announced he would introduce legislation calling on Schwarzenegger to scrap the election.
According to Deputy Legislative Counsel Christopher Dawson, the governor has the sole authority to rescind a proclamation calling for a special election. That contradicted an opinion by Secretary of State Bruce McPherson, who had suggested lawmakers could approve legislation by a two-thirds vote to call off the election.
“In our view, where the California Constitution has granted discretionary power to the governor, the Legislature may not validly enact a statute that would negate the Governor’s exercise of that discretion,” Dawson wrote.
Additionally, Dawson wrote, “the governor may rescind the proclamation calling for a statewide special election until the date of the election.” Until now, supporters and opponents of the governor’s reform initiatives had viewed Aug. 18 as the deadline for making any changes to the ballot.
Earlier Tuesday, Assemblyman Johan Klehs, D-Hayward, held a news conference to announce that he would introduce legislation calling on Schwarzenegger to cancel the special election.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Klehs called the special election “a complete waste of money” and said he had consulted with the legislative counsel’s office before drafting his legislation.
“The law is very clear,” Klehs said. “The governor can call the election, and he can cancel it. And the public is clearly in favor of canceling it.
The Lefties are desperate. Flap to Moonbats…..Arnold is staying the course and he has already WON.
Flap suggests the Democrats and their union friends get BUSY raising money for the expensive media campaign ahead (which means surcharge their union employees again and again).
The Governator is and that really indicates intent……now doesn’t it.
