Cindy Sheehan for California Congress Ad
Anti-Iraq War activist and left wing whack job, Cindy Sheehan is coming to Ventura County to hype her independent run for Congress against San Francisco Democrat and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
Cindy Sheehan is up next for Mary Pallant’s Ventura County Speaker Series. Please join me for this rare opportunity to hear from one of the most courageous women of our troubling times. Cindy has been speaking out against the unjust Iraq occupation, fighting to restore our rights, and continues to work on ending the worst political debacle in the history of our nation, the Iraq War. Her book, “Peace Mom: A Mother’s Journey Through Heartache to Activism” will be available for purchase and signing. I am continually amazed at her heroics and tireless efforts. We will hold a small event after the talk to help Cindy raise money for her campaign. A separate $25.00 donation to her campaign is suggested for this private event. Don’t miss this extraordinary woman and the ensuing discussion of “can one person make a difference?” See you then! Mary Pallant
Ventura County Speaker Series
Date: August 29th, 2008 Time: 7:00pm Venue: Oak Park Community Center – 1000 Kanan Road Cost: Free and open to the public. $3.00 donation appreciated cover venue cost.
Mary Pallant is a far left insurance agent who ran for Congress in the California June Democrat primary election (CA-24). Pallant who was endorsed by every lefty activist in Ventura County and the NUTROOTS finished a distant third to Marta Jorgensen who did not campaign the final two weeks in the south portion of the 24th Congressional District because reportedly she could not afford the gas money.
Pallant is touted by the left as the heir apparent Democrat candidate against incumbent GOP Congressman Elton Gallegly in two years after Jorgensen is dispatched this November.
Flap does not think associating with Cindy Sheehan who is running against the Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will buy Pallant too much love in the Democrat mainstream party.
But, who knows?

In a shocker the United States and Poland signed a preliminary missile defense deal today. The Russians invade Georgia and move in the tanks and suddenly in what was an impasse, an agreement occurs.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the agreement on national television shortly before it was signed by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Kremer and US chief negotiator John Rood.
Mr Tusk said Washington had agreed to meet Warsaw’s main demands in exchange for hosting the 10 interceptor missiles in a former military base near Poland’s Baltic Sea coast.
In return, the US has agreed to help modernise the Polish armed forces and locate Patriot missiles and a garrison of US servicemen in Poland to beef up its air defences, Mr Tusk said.
Poland is reported to have demanded the extra security help as part of the deal after Moscow threatened to target its missiles at any eventual bases.
The US signed an agreement with the Czech Republic in July to base tracking radars there as part of the missile defence system.
The US wants the sites to be in operation by about 2012.
Flap is being facetious, of course.
What are the repercussions?
Russia will remain pissed off at the United States and Poland and target the ten interceptors with nuclear weapons. Big deal. This might worry other European countries but not the Poles.
And, Russia may try to base bombers in Cuba.
The latter would lead to a direct military confrontation with the United States.
Stay tuned….

A joint statement from Team Hillary and Obama:
Since June, Senators Obama and Clinton have been working together to ensure a Democratic victory this November. They are both committed to winning back the White House and to to ensuring that the voices of all 35 million people who participated in this historic primary election are respected and heard in Denver. To honor and celebrate these voices and votes, both Senator Obama’s and Senator Clinton’s names will be placed in nomination.
“I am convinced that honoring Senator Clinton’s historic campaign in this way will help us celebrate this defining moment in our history and bring the party together in a strong united fashion,” said Senator Barack Obama.
Senator Obama’s campaign encouraged Senator Clinton’s name to be placed in nomination as a show of unity and in recognition of the historic race she ran and the fact that she was the first woman to compete in all of our nation’s primary contests.
“With every voice heard and the Party strongly united, we will elect Senator Obama President of the United States and put our nation on the path to peace and prosperity once again,” said Senator Hillary Clinton.
Senator Obama and Senator Clinton are looking forward to a convention unified behind Barack Obama as the Party’s nominee and to victory this fall for America.
Barack Obama internal polls must REALLY show a drop off in middle aged women voters in key battleground states.
Now, the “play within the play” begins.
“YES, SHE CAN” sink Barack Obama’s chances against John McCain.

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., center and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, left, his wife Judith, stand on the field together before the New York Yankees versus Oakland Athletics baseball game at Yankee Stadium in New York, Sunday, July 20, 2008
Former New York Mayor and GOP Presidential candidate has landed a prime time speech during the GOP Convention in September.
Giuliani, the former presidential candidate and Big Apple mayor, is tentatively scheduled to address the GOP faithful on Tuesday, Sept. 2 – the second night of the convention, sources said.
Giuliani was a marquee speaker on the first day of the 2004 GOP convention in Madison Square Garden.
Giuliani has been a loyal supporter of presidential standard-bearer John McCain ever since his own campaign flamed out.
McCain, in a recent Post interview, said of Giuliani: “I’ve been with him a lot. I appreciate more than I could tell you his friendship and support. And that was steadfast throughout the primary.”
“He’s a great American. He united America. I’ll never forget that as long as I live,” McCain said, referring to Giuliani’s composure after 9/11.
Rudy has always been a loyal soldier for the GOP and will deliver a rousing “red meat” speech for the conventioneers.
Look for Rudy to come out on the attack of Obama, particularly on leadership and domestic policy issues such as crime, affirmative action and school choice.

Graphic from Electoral-Vote.com
Karl Rove in the Wall Street Journal today says four key battleground states will decide the Presidental Race for 2008.
Other states will see serious competition, including Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada, New Hampshire, Missouri and Wisconsin. But Colorado, Virginia, Michigan and Ohio are likely to be the center of the action. To win, Mr. Obama needs to pick up 18 electoral votes more than John Kerry received, meaning Mr. Obama must carry Colorado or Virginia and add another small state to his column. If Mr. McCain carries Michigan as well as Ohio, it would make Mr. Obama’s Electoral College math very difficult. And if Mr. McCain can limit GOP losses to one or two small states from those won by the GOP in 2004, he’ll be America’s 44th president.
Flap agrees and having traveled to Nevada and Colorado this summer can verify that television advertising is very heavy in those states.
Michigan is the key and whichever Vice President hopeful polls the best will be McCain’s choice.
Stay tuned……

Former George W. Bush Secretary of State Colin Powell and Senator Barack Obama
Despite Bill Kristol’s musings yesterday on Fox News, Colin Powell says he will not be attending the Democrat convention in Denver.
Kristol says the endorsement is not “a done deal” and the Fox story quotes Powell’s spokeswoman as saying he is not going to either convention. Powell himself said the same thing to ABC News. “I do not have time to waste on Bill Kristol’s musings,†he said. “I am not going to the convention. I have made this clear.”
Powell who has already sent a $2,300 check to John McCain would be booed by the Left in Denver anyway. Jim Geraghty thinks the endorsement is “huge and great news for Obama.”
Flap NOT so much.
