Michelle Malkin has INSIDE AIR AMERICA: AL FRANKEN’S LYING LIES.
In other words, Franken claimed on the air he knew nothing of the Gloria Wise “or something” fiasco nine months after he signed a legal agreement that specifically outlined the loans to Gloria Wise and required Air America to pay them back.
Cohen told us: “Al Franken calling me a crook is a little like the pot calling the kettle black.

South Africa Watch: The Rape Trap
South African inventor Sonette Ehlers and her new anti-rape female condom.
The Los Angeles Times has A New Strategy to Fight Rapists.
A medieval device built on hatred of men? Or a cheap, easy-to-use invention that could free millions of South African women from fear of rape, in a country with the worst sexual assault record on Earth?
Dubbed the “rape trap,” trademarked Rapex, the condom-like device bristling with internal hooks designed to snare rapists has reignited controversy over the nation’s alarming rape rate.
Some say the inventor, Sonette Ehlers, deserves a medal; others, that she needs help.
The device, which is worn inside a woman’s body, hooks onto a rapist during penetration. It must be surgically removed.
Ehlers, a former medical technician, said the rape trap would be so painful for a rapist that it would disable him immediately, enabling his victim to escape. She insisted it would cause no long-term physical damage to the assailant, and could not accidentally injure the woman.
Some women’s activists call the device regressive, putting the onus on individual women to address a societal, male problem. Even Charlene Smith, an outspoken journalist and anti-rape campaigner, said the device “goes back to the concept of chastity belts” and predicted it would incite injured rapists to kill their victims.
“You will get a higher rate of women being killed,” Smith said. “We don’t need these nut-case devices by people hoping to make a lot of money out of other women’s fear.”
Yup……
Ehlers said she was inspired to design the device after meeting a young rape victim in a hospital in 1969, who told her, “If only I had teeth down there.”
A moronic device.

Cindy Sheehan Watch: Glad Bush Did Not Meet With Her
The ASSociated Press has Sheehan Glad Bush Didn’t Meet With Her.
A woman who led an anti-war protest for nearly a month near President Bush’s ranch said Tuesday that she’s glad Bush never showed up to discuss her son’s death in Iraq, saying the president’s absence “galvanized the peace movement.”
Cindy Sheehan’s comments came as war protesters packed up their campsite near the ranch and prepared to leave Tuesday for a three-week bus tour.
“I look back on it, and I am very, very, very grateful he did not meet with me, because we have sparked and galvanized the peace movement,” Sheehan told The Associated Press. “If he’d met with me, then I would have gone home, and it would have ended there.”
Yeah, right!
She would have created a scene, called him a LIAR and made an even bigger ASS out of herself.
After leaving Crawford, protesters will spread their message on a three-week “Bring Them Home Now Tour” with stops in 25 states. Buses on three routes will meet in Washington, D.C., for a Sept. 24 anti-war march.
Sheehan will leave the tour next week to spend time with her family, including her mother who recently suffered a stroke, which caused Sheehan to miss a week of the protest. She plans to attend the march in the nation’s capital, hoping to reunite with people who converged on the Texas roadside that came to be known as “Camp Casey.”
“When I first started here, I was sitting in the ditch thinking, `What the heck did I do? Texas in August, the chiggers, fire ants, rattlesnakes, uncomfortable accommodations’ _ but I’m going to be sad leaving here,” Sheehan said. “I hope people will say that the Camp Casey movement sparked a peace movement that ended the war in Iraq.”
Not a chance Cindy. The anti-war leftie fringe will continue with or without you.
You are a legend in your own mind.
Flap continues to wonder: Why was not one Democrat elected anti-war official present themselves in Crawford to lend Cindy moral support? Where was Howard Dean?
HUMMMMMMM……..
Michelle Malkin has MEANWHILE, BACK IN CRAWFORD II.
Via Lucianne.com, Cindy “Support the Troops, Not the War” Sheehan will be protesting a Blue Angels air show in Brunswick, Maine, next month.
Bashing the Blue Angels is a staple of the moonbat Left.
Via Red State Rant, Mrs. Sheehan is also taking shots at Gold Star Moms who support their sons and daughters who support their president and the mission.
Eric Pfeiffer is still reporting live from Camp Casey. So is Andrew Marcus.
Then it’s on to the anti-war bus tour. Wonder if there’s a seat reserved for Baghdad Jane?

Cindy Sheehan Watch: Al Sharpton Speaks
Cindy Sheehan, left, and Rev. Al Sharpton greet each other after he arrived at Camp Casey 2 near President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas.
The ASSociated Press has Al Sharpton Speaks at Texas Anti-War Camp.
The Rev. Al Sharpton joined hundreds of war protesters outside President Bush’s ranch for an interfaith service Sunday, saying he felt compelled to meet Cindy Sheehan, the grieving mother who started the rally three weeks earlier.
On Sunday, Sharpton joined Sheehan in laying roses at crosses near “Camp Casey,”
“I feel that it is our moral obligation to stand and to be courageous with these families, and particularly Cindy, that have become the conscience of this nation,” said Sharpton, an activist and former Democratic presidential candidate.
Actor Martin Sheen, who portrays the Democratic president on NBC’s “The West Wing,” also met with Sheehan and spoke to a crowd of more than 300.
But, Flap asks where are the national Democrat leaders?
Where is Joe Biden? Howard Dean?
Where is Hillary?

Cindy Sheehan Watch: Dueling Protests
The ASSociated Press Tiny Crawford Braces for Dueling Protests.
This one-stoplight town of 700 residents near President Bush’s ranch braced for thousands of visitors Saturday, most in a cross-country caravan for a pro-Bush rally and others to support Cindy Sheehan’s anti-war demonstration.
More than 3,000 people were expected at the school football stadium for a pro-Bush rally, the culmination of the “You don’t speak for me, Cindy!” tour that started last week in California.
It would be the largest counter protest since Sheehan started camping out off the road leading to Bush’s ranch Aug. 6, soon after his Texas vacation began. She vowed to remain unless he talked to her about the war with Iraq that claimed the life of her son Casey and more than 1,870 other U.S. soldiers.
But the good ol’ ASSociated Press fails to mention again and again that the President already met with Cindy Sheehan last year.
Stay Tuned.

Air America Scandel: Friday Update
The Weekly Standard in their August 29th edition, has Nothing to See Here.
The Air America scandal continues to metastasize. The national board of directors for Boys and Girls Clubs of America is considering a formal staff recommendation that the organization expel its Bronx, New York, affiliate, the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club, for apparent involvement in–and concealment of–a scheme by which nearly $900,000 was improperly diverted to the liberal radio network from bank accounts intended to fund social service programs for disadvantaged children and the elderly. “It’s a very, very serious matter,” Boys and Girls Clubs spokesman Evan McElroy told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution last week.
And he’s not the only one who thinks so. At least two law enforcement agencies, the New York City Department of Investigation and the New York State attorney general’s office, have confirmed an active interest in the matter. And, tangentially at least, the courts are already involved, as well. Bloggers Michelle Malkin and Brian Maloney, who’ve together done more than anyone else to advance the story, now report that Air America is being sued by an unpaid creditor who alleges, among other things, that the network’s current parent company, Piquant LLC, is merely a sham reincorporation of the “predecessor” outfit that filched the Boys and Girls Club money.
Meanwhile, Byron Calame, “public editor” of the New York Times, has quietly filed a post to his “web journal” acknowledging that his colleagues “showed up late” to the Air America story and thus “poorly served” their readers.
Only after “weeks of articles by other newspapers” did the Times finally get around to noticing the scandal in its own backyard. And this oversight was especially regrettable, Calame allowed, in light of the “flurry of articles” the paper had run during the happy-face PR blitz surrounding Air America’s debut in the spring of 2004. It’s inconsistencies like these, he pointed out, that typically give rise to “a perception of liberal bias” at the Times, and before you know it, certain of the paper’s right-wingier subscribers are writing in to complain.
Calame does have some good news to report, however. In this particular case, at least, any perception of liberal bias at the Times is one “for which I haven’t found any evidence after checking with editors at the paper.”
In the meantime, Air America Radio host, Randi Rhodes is flying (perhaps in her charted jet) to Crawford to be with Cindy Sheehan.
And Evan Montvel Cohen, the former chairman of Ari America is still missing.
The New York Sun has a series of piece on the Air America Scandel, Air America Online Special Section.
Michelle Malkin has an excellent Friday round-up, AIR ENRON: FRIDAY MORNING UPDATES.
And these are some of the kids hurt by this scam.
And….. the New York as well as Federal authorities continue to be very very quiet. Are they even looking for Evan Montvel Cohen?

Cindy Sheehan Watch: She’s BACK and is Taking It to the Road
Anti-war protestor Cindy Sheehan, center, is surrounded as she places a pair of boots in front of a cross for her son Casey Sheehan following a news conference at Camp Casey near President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas, Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005
The ASSociated Press has Cindy Sheehan Planning Anti-War Bus Tour.
A fallen soldier’s mother said Thursday that the anti-war vigil she started nearly three weeks ago near
President Bush’s ranch won’t end when she and other protesters pack up their camp next week.Cindy Sheehan said the day after she leaves Aug. 31, she will embark on a bus tour ending up in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 24. Then the group will start a 24-hour vigil in the nation’s capital.
“I am not alone,” she said at a news conference Thursday. “There’s the people standing behind me here, but there’s thousands of military families … who want the same answers to the same questions.”
Now, this ought to be grand and probably alot of fights with Bush supporters along the way. Flap wonders if she will link up with traitor Jane Fonda’s Peace tour?
But, the leftie moonbat fringe love confrontational demonstrations ala Michael Moore. The question is what play will this have in the mainstream media? The Robert’s hearings will have started and Congress will be back in session.
Stay tuned.
Jeb Leutwyler puts up a sign supporting the troops and the Iraq war on a fence near U.S. President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas August 25, 2005. War supporters are planning a massive rally August 27 in Crawford to counter the anti-war protest started by Cindy Sheehan earlier this month.

Air America Scandel: The SHELDON DROBNY Connection
Michelle Malkin has INSIDE AIR AMERICA: THE SHELDON DROBNY FILES.
My investigative blog partner, Brian Maloney, watched the surreal appearance of Air America co-founder Sheldon Drobny on C-SPAN this weekend. Drobny was on the network to plug his 2004 book, “Road to Air America: Breaking the Right Wing Stranglehold on Our Nation’s Airwaves.” Click here for Brian’s exclusive transcript/analysis of Drobny’s remarks and the second half of our Sheldon Drobny files.
Our thanks to the caller from Dallas who broke the silence about the Air American financial scandals on the program. Drobny was visibly uncomfortable. As he should be.
Drobny, a deep-pocketed, self-described venture capitalist from Chicago, is a strange duck who deserves much more media scrutiny than he’s getting. In October 2003, NRO’s Byron York explored his moonbat writings for a fringe website called Make Them Accountable here. York noted Drobny’s Lyndon LaRouche connections and wrote:
In the 1990s, conservatives came under heavy criticism for relying on funding from the foundation run by Richard Mellon Scaife. Liberal commentators routinely portrayed Scaife as a right-wing zillionaire who harbored dark visions about the evil nature of his political adversaries. Now, it is a zillionaire on the left-the guiding force behind liberalism’s premier outreach effort-who harbors dark visions about the evil nature of his political adversaries. And that is the face of liberal talk radio.
Since then, however, neither the New York Times nor any other major MSM outlet has had anything more to say about the checkered past of Drobny and his wife, Anita, their apparent shell game habits, or their latest efforts to drum up new cash for the Air America money pit through the dubious “Nova M” business plan, which we first exposed here.
It is amazing to Flap that there have been no leaks from either the FBI or New York authorities as to the progress of their investigation.
Certainly, this charge of fraudulant conveyance and theft of federal funds should have piqued the interest of some prosecutor.
At the very least, the Congress should be requesting hearings on this whole Air America Scandel.
And what does Al Franken have to say?
And these are some of the kids hurt by this scam.
Bleeding-heart liberals, beware. Like pied pipers in progressive clothing, Drobny and his wife may be coming to a town near you to entice you into Air America’s sea of red ink.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.
Go to The Radio Equalizer for the rest of our examination of Drobny.

MOVE OVER, CINDY: BUSH SINGLES OUT OTHER MILITARY MOM…
U.S. President George W. Bush (L) hugs Tammy Pruett, who has four sons currently stationed in Iraq, after speaking to members of the Idaho National Guard and their families in Nampa, Idaho, August 24, 2005.Bush continued to emphasize the need for the U.S. to maintain a military presence in Iraq until the country’s situation has stabilized.
Matt Drudge has MOVE OVER, CINDY: BUSH SINGLES OUT OTHER MILITARY MOM
NAMPA, Idaho — President Bush today took direct aim at Cindy Sheehan, the anti-war protester who has set up camp near the Bushes Texas ranch and purports to speak for military moms who, like her, have lost a son in the Iraq war.
Speaking to hundreds of Idaho National Guardsmen, the president singled out military mom Tammy Pruett of Pocatello, Idaho, whose husband and five sons have all served in Iraq.
“Tammy has four sons serving in Iraq right now with the Idaho National Guard: Eric, Evan, Greg and Jeff. Last year her husband, Leon, and another son, Aaron, returned from Iraq, where they helped train Iraqi firefighters in Mosul.
“Tammy says this — and I want you to hear this — ‘I know that if something happens to one of the boys, they would leave this world doing what they believe, what they think is right for our country.’
“And I guess you couldn’t ask for a better way of life than giving it for something that you believe in. America lives in freedom because of families like the Pruetts.”
The crowd, made up mostly of military family members, broke into cheers and chants of “U-S-A! U-S-A!”
CNN has Idaho’s real-life brothers in arms, Four ‘weekend warrior’ siblings serve in Iraq
The Pruetts have four sons serving in combat in Iraq. Eric, Evan, Greg and Jeff are completing an 18-month tour of duty in Iraq with the Army National Guard. Leon and the couple’s fifth son, Eren, are just back from Iraq, and daughter Emily would have gone but had not completed her training when her brothers shipped out.
Why would one family be willing to risk so much for the war in Iraq? The Pruetts feel it is their duty to serve, that other people in the world have a right to some of the freedoms and privileges Americans have. And, as Tammy Pruett says, “If not my sons, then whose?”
Wow!
What a family and what a mother!
Cindy Sheehan – pack up your left-wing groupie bunch and go home.
After a four-month separation, Evan, Jeff, Eric and Greg Pruett, from left, met in Kirkuk in April
