Cindy Sheehan is back!
The ASSociated Press has ‘Peace Mom’ Returns to Texas War Protest.
A woman whose son was killed in Iraq returned to Texas on Wednesday to resume her anti-war protest near President Bush’s ranch after a weeklong absence to care for her ailing mother.
About a dozen protesters who have continued the peace vigil picked up Cindy Sheehan at the Waco airport Wednesday afternoon, six days after she flew to Los Angeles when her 74-year-old mother suffered a stroke.
“This is where I belong, until Aug. 31, like I told the president,” Sheehan said at the airport before driving about 20 miles to the Crawford site.
Thank God, this FARCE will be over in a week.
In the meantime…..
Conservative activists and military families were en route to Crawford from California on a tour called “You don’t speak for me, Cindy!” The caravan coordinated by Move America Forward plans to hold a pro-Bush rally in town Saturday.
The Fireworks during a slow news August will begin this weekend.

Senator Chuck Hagel compared Iraq to Vietnam on Sunday. Both Senator Hagel and Senator George Allen urged President Bush to meet with Cindy Sheehan.
Both of these Senators are DEAD MEAT if they ever run for another office. They will never run or win a contested Republican Primary election either.

Crawford Texas Watch: Joan Baez Sings and Supports Anti-War Protestors

Joan Baez was against the Vietnam War and she showed it _ appearing at marches, once even blocking the entrance of a military induction center.
The folk singer is against the Iraq war, too, and she showed her support Sunday to protesters camping out near President Bush’s ranch.
Baez took to the stage for about 500 people on an acre lot offered by a landowner who opposes the war, performing such classic peace anthems as “Song of Peace,” “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” and “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.”
Not far way is the camp started by Cindy Seehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq.
“In the first march I went to (opposing Vietnam) there were 10 of us. This is huge,” Baez told the relatives of fallen soldiers before performing just up the road from the ranch.
For Baez, an anti-war movement was inevitable.
“It was the final tear for the overflow and you can’t stop running water,” she said. “Cindy’s was the final tear.”
Oh Please……
This anti-war crowd have been waiting ever since Vietnam to hit the streets again and protest something – anything.

Downtown, more Bush supporters arrived at a pro-Bush camp that had been set up as a reaction to Sheehan’s. As of Sunday afternoon, more than 150 people had visited the large tent with “God Bless Our President!” and “God Bless Our Troops” banners and a life-size cardboard cutout of Bush.
“When we saw this, we said, `Thank God you’re here’,” said Frances Lee, who came from Douglasville, Ga., with neighbor Brenda Bohanan. They planned to hold pro-Bush banners down the street from the protesters.
“We said, `We wanted y’all to know that there are people from all over the United States that care’,” Lee said.
The pro-Bush camp is called “Fort Qualls,” for Marine Lance Cpl. Louis Wayne Qualls, 20, killed in Fallujah last fall. His father, Gary Qualls of Temple, said the anti-war demonstrators are being disrespectful to soldiers.

Down the street, another group of about a dozen set up tents and pro-Bush signs on private property over the weekend.

A group of California nurses who have been a thorn in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s side ever since he said he wanted to “kick their butts” protested at Fenway Park yesterday to shame the Governator for a political money-grab during the Rolling Stones show.
“We are going to fight like hell. Fight like mad to stop him,” said Kelly DiGiacomo, a cardiac nurse in Roseville, Calif.,whowas dressed in her red nurse’s uniform and white hat to protest the governor’s plan to cut nursing staff levels.So, what else is new. These nurse union activists want mandatory staffing ratios that Gray Davis, the Democrat Legislature and their union contributors doled out before he was recalled. California Governor Scwarzenegger last Fall issued emergency orders to temporarily stay the reduction of staffing ratios from 6 patients per nurse to 5 patients per nurse. These emergency orders will end in 2008. Hence, the wrath of the California Nurses Association and their sympathetic union buddies. They have been stalking the Governor ever since.
Schwarzenegger peddled tickets – donated by Ameriquest – for as much as $100,000 each in exchange for a seat with him.
About 60 California, Chicago and Massachusetts nurses, as well as Bay State teachers and firefighters protested with signs that read “Stop Arnold” and chanted “Arnold, Arnold he’s no good. Send him back to Hollywood.”
The California Nurses Association has protested at 75 public appearances in the past nine months to show their disgust for his plan to eliminate California’s mandatory patient-to-nurse ratios.The shortage of nurses in California guarantees well paid work in their field. In fact, the nursing to patient ratio in California seems to work well in my observations of recent hospital visits.
This is a union power grab for more dues paying members – nothing more. And union intimidation tactics.
California Special Election Season has begun.

Cindy Sheehan Watch: Rasmussen Poll, 35% Favorable 38 % Unfavorable
Rasmussen Reports has Cindy Sheehan: 35% Favorable 38% Unfavorable.
Cindy Sheehan, the grieving mother who maintained an anti-War protest outside of President Bush’s ranch, is viewed favorably by 35% of Americans and unfavorably by 38%.
Sheehan is viewed favorably by 34% of men and 35% of women. Forty-two percent (42%) of men and 34% of women have an unfavorable view
Understandable.
Fifty-five percent (55%) of Americans say they are following the Sheehan story somewhat or very closely. That is a lower level of interest than Americans have in stories about Iran’s nuclear capabilities. It is roughly comparable to the interest in stories about Supreme Court nominee John Roberts.
If Sheehan wasn’t the poster child for the Code Pink and MoveOn.org folks Flap wonders if the MSM would cover this story at all.

The key questions that curious radio industry veterans, financial observers, skeptical investors, and business reporters should be asking Air America:
What is Nova M? And why now?
There may be an easy explanation for Nova M. It will be the replacement company for Air America Radio after Piquant LLC files for bankruptcy.
Of course, the poor kids at Gloria Wise will never be repaid and the federal government will now after exposure of this scandel search out, indict and convict Evan Cohen and the rest of his cohorts for various federal crimes. Then, the New York authorities will file their charges.
Nova M will be the purchaser of the bankrupt assets of Air America Radio.
A shell game, you betcha.

If the Times wants us to believe that it objectively reports the news, especially that which occurs in its own back yard, then we expect to see some in-depth coverage of the apparent fraud involving Piquant Media, Progress Media, Air America, and Gloria Wise, and not just a bloodless regurgitation of facts already well known to anyone with an Internet connection.
Barney whipped out his Sherlock Holmes hat and magnifying glass, conducted a thorough investigation, and found that the Times is not a liberal newspaper! It’s the perception problem — a perception of liberal bias for which I haven’t found any evidence after checking with editors at the paper.”
Reassuring, isn’t it? Liberal bias at the Times does not exist. It is a “perception” problem “inspired by conservative bloggers.” It is all in your imagination. The Great Oz has spoken! Besides, Calame has proof. He called the editors who ignored the Air America story, and they denied that liberal bias was the reason. So the Times is not liberal. Time to go back to the divan.

California Nurse Watch: Stalking Schwarzenegger at Stones Concert
The Moron of the Day Award goes to the California Nurses Association and National Nurses Organizing Committee for vowing to STALK California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and travel to Boston to protest his corporate fundraising and policies harmful to nurses and other Californians. Their protest will occur outside a $100,000 per ticket fundraiser he is holding at the Rolling Stones kickoff concert at Fenway Park in Boston.
They will be joined by RNs from the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA), as well as local teachers, firefighters, and activists at a pre-concert press conference this Sunday, August 21st at 5:00 p.m.

Air America Scandel: Inside Air America, An Investigative Blog Report

It’s not just the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls that’s knocking on Air America Radio’s door looking for lost money. According to court records obtained by Radio Equalizer/MichelleMalkin.com, another major creditor has been demanding that Air America pay up. The liberal radio network has refused to do so, despite a court order and scathing words from a New York judge overseeing the case. Now, the creditor–Multicultural Radio Broadcasting Inc.–has filed a new complaint, accusing Air America and Piquant LLC (Air America’s current owners) of engaging in a “sham transaction” and “fraudulent conveyance” of assets in order to avoid paying its debts. (See the prescient Professor Bainbridge for corporate law background.)
The initial battle between Multicultural Radio and Air America was widely covered last year.
Now, here’s the rest of the story the MSM has yet to report.
On June 23, 2004, New York Supreme Court Judge Marylin Diamond filed this order. The matter concerning the two parties’ time brokerage agreement was not settled in Air America’s favor.
Five months later, on Nov. 24, 2004, Judge Diamond filed a default judgment ordering Air America to pay Multicultural Radio the sum of $255,518.86 in damages.

Six months after that order was filed, Multicultural Radio still had not been paid. On May 24, 2005, the company filed another complaint with the New York State Supreme Court–this time with legal guns blazing. Named as defendants were past officers and directors of Air America Radio, as well as current officers, directors and investors of Piquant LLC, including:

The complaint next documents Air America’s p.r. strategy of smearing Multicultural Radio president Arthur Liu.
According to Multicultural Radio, dissenters from the “classic shell game” scheme were met with threats.
And the deal proceeded.
In addition to its obligations to Multicultural Radio, the complaint alleges that Air America owed more than $2 million in accounts payable and had no means to repay its obligations. Multicultural Radio further alleges that Cohen and Sorensen made a deal with Piquant promising never to sue, retaining an ownership interest in Piquant, and all agreeing to “indemnify and hold harmless” one another “with respect to claims for any breach or default or failure to perform any undertakings pursuant to their agreement.

Now you know why the current owners of Air America seem so disinterested in holding Cohen accountable for the Gloria Wise mess.Now you know why Air America and its defenders are using smear tactics to disparage critics and bloggers and journalists asking hard questions about its past and current finances.
But what’s next for Air America as it travels down its trail paved with debts?

“If George Bush believes his rhetoric and his bullshit, that this is a war for freedom and democracy, that he is spreading freedom and democracy, does he think every person he kills makes Iraq more free?”
“The whole world is damaged. Our humanity is damaged. If he thinks that it’s so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense of freedom and democracy, then he needs to sign up his two little party-animal girls. They need to go to this war.”
“We want our country back and, if we have to impeach everybody from George Bush down to the person who picks up dog shit in Washington, we will impeach all those people.”

Air America Scandel: Where is Evan Montvel-Cohen?
Michelle Malkin asks were is Evan Montvel-Cohen and why is Air America and Al Franken not pursuing him in this piece, AIR ENRON: AL FRANKEN NEEDS HELP.
The subject of my latest column: Where in the world is Evan Montvel-Cohen? The former chairman of Air America Radio and disgraced development director of the Bronx-based Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club has been unavailable to the MSM. New York investigators will not comment on whether they have been able to interview him. And current Air America management and on-air talent seem not to care–even as they attempt to pin the blame on their latest financial woes on the man Al Franken is calling a “crook.”
It seems that the radio personalities at Air America are more concerned with corporate jets to take them to Crawford, Texas than repaying the hundreds of thousands of dollars to Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club. Radioblogger has this story in this piece, Al’s Priorities. and Internal Dissent?
One hopes the FBI and the New York state authorities have a better explanation of Evan Montvel-Cohen’s whereabouts because the Air America folks seem to care less.
But, Franken, Air America is repaying the money, right? When?
Will there be an indictment soon? Is there already one under seal?
