Global War on Terror Watch: Hezbollah and Syria Make a MOVE in Lebanon

    lebanonnovember21aweb

Lebanese security forces surround the bullet-riddled car of assasinated Lebanese Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel in the Beirut northern suburb of Jdeideh, in the latest in a spate of attacks to target anti-Syrian politicians.

AP: Lebanese Cabinet minister is killed

Pierre Gemayel, an anti-Syrian politician and scion of Lebanon’s most prominent Christian family, was gunned down Tuesday in an assassination that heightened tensions amid a showdown between opponents and allies of Syria that threatens to topple the U.S.-backed government.

Gemayel, 34, was the fifth anti-Syrian figure to be killed in the past two years and the first member of the government of Prime Minister Fuad Saniora to be slain. A car rammed his vehicle from behind and then a gunman stepped out and shot him at point-blank range, his Phalange Party radio station and Lebanon’s official news agency reported.

Footage from the scene showed Gemayel’s car, the driver’s-side window dotted by about a dozen bullet holes, and the second car behind it with a crumpled hood.

The assassination, in an afternoon shooting in Gemayel’s mainly Christian constituency of Jdeideh, threatens further instability in Lebanon at a time when Hezbollah and other parties allied with Syria are planning a massing wave of street protests unless Saniora reforms his government to give them more power.

    A move by Hezbollah?

    Probably

Israel will be back in Lebanon like Flap said the first time.

    Civil War brewing?

Global War on Terror Watch: Thousands in Indonesia Protest Bush Trip

Indonesian Muslim protester shout slogans during a rally against the visit by U.S. President George W. Bush, Sunday, Nov. 19,2006, in Jakarta, Indonesia. Thousands wound through the streets of Indonesia’s capital and gathered at mosques Sunday to protest U.S. President George W. Bush’s visit to the world’s most populous Muslim nation, some chanting ‘War criminal’ and ‘You are a terrorist!’

AP: Thousands in Indonesia protest Bush trip

Warmly greeted by world leaders in Vietnam, President Bush drew a different reaction Sunday at his upcoming stop in Indonesia, where thousands angrily protested America’s policy in the Middle East and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The White House said it was confident about security precautions for Bush’s visit Monday despite police warnings of an increased threat of attack by al-Qaida-linked groups.

The president was to spend just six hours in Indonesia, most of it at Bogor Palace, a presidential retreat outside the capital of Jakarta and far from the scene of protests Sunday where Bush was denounced as a “war criminal’ and “terrorist.”

While President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is a close U.S. ally in the war on terror, Bush is highly unpopular in Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation.

    Islamic Jihadis abound in Indonesia.

Remember last year’s Muhammed Cartoons and the Indonesian protests.

Michelle Malkin talks about Bush Assassination-Mania in Indonesia.

Security is tight and President Bush’s visit is expected to last six hours tomorrow. I will be praying for his safety.

    What can it all mean?

    Organized Islamic hate…………………

You have to hand it to President Bush. He does have the COJONES to stare down the Jihadists in Indonesia. Now, we will see if the Indonesians can protect the President. Scary stuff……

Global War on Terror Watch: Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam) Allowed to Enter United States to Promote CD

New York Post: Mission Of Peace

YUSUF Islam, formerly Cat Stevens, is being allowed back into the United States to promote his first new album in 30 years, “An Other Cup.” The 1970s singer happens to share his Muslim name with someone on the government’s “No-Fly” list and was refused entry to the U.S. in 2004. His name has since been cleared, but Islam is shying away from political controversy. Fox 411’s Roger Friedman got a sneak-listen at the CD (which includes a cover of the Animals’ “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”) and said, “There’s nothing on ‘Cup’ that could offend anyone and plenty of love and peace for everyone.”

Nothing to offend but the profits going to terrorist front organizations.

Why would the State Department allow him to enter the United States – especially with his ties to radical Islamic clerics?

Global War on Terror Watch: Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam) Tied to Radical Islamic Clerics

    Yusuf-Islamnovember11aweb

The Jawa Report: Claim: Cat Stevens Financed Terrorists, Tied to Radical Clerics

The Jawa Report has obtained evidence that Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, was once connected to radical clerics Omar Bakri Mohammed & Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman. According to at least one credible source, he was also involved in terrorist financing.

In an online voice chat from exile in Lebanon where he fled after British authorities banned several groups connected to him, Bakri told followers that various prominent Muslims would once frequent his office. Among those listed is Cat Stevens.

    Read it all.

Flap dosn’t think most Americans would want to purchase Cat Steven’s soon to be released CD if they knew the proceeds were to finance radical Islamic terrorist organizations that want to kill Americans.

Is there any wonder why he continues to be barred from the United States?

Global War on Terror Watch: Nancy Pelosi – Just Afghanistan?

    gwotnovember5aweb

LOOK WHERE AL QAEDA & CO. HAVE STRUCK SINCE 9/11

THE woman who will become Speaker of the House, should Democrats pick up sufficient seats on Tuesday, believes passionately that the War on Terror is only the war in Afghanistan.

Reality check: The map above shows a selection of the major, memorable terrorist attacks world-wide since Jan. 1, 2002, as well as indicating nations which the Rand Corp. Terrorism Database lists as hosting a significant al Qaeda presence.

(Just a selection, of course – a map of attacks in Israel or Iraq could fill the whole page.)

Only Afghanistan? It is staggering to think that anyone of such naivete could soon leading one house of Congress.

Nancy Pelosi’s defenders will point out that she answering the question, “Do you not think that the war in Iraq now, today, is the War on Terror?”

But her full answer was, “No. The War on Terror is the war in Afghanistan.”

Mind-boggling. She doesn’t even deny that terrorists have flocked to Iraq, “but that doesn’t mean we stay there,” she says. “They’ll stay there as long as we’re there” – implying . . . what? That they’ll just retire if we go?

True, some would leave – but only to do killing elsewhere. How many would come here?

None of this is to defend every particular of Bush policies in Iraq – would that that were all that divided America’s two political parties.

But it’s not. No, the overriding divide is that one party generally understands that America faces a determined and utterly ruthless enemy of global reach and ambition, an enemy that will keep on coming and keep on killing until it is stopped . . . and the other party just doesn’t want to think about it.

Sure, there are exceptions – one honorable one is Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut.

But he was rejected by his state party because of his firm stance in the War on Terror. He’s not the mainstream of the Democratic Party.

    Nancy Pelosi is.

The political consensus is the GOP WILL lose majority control of the House. But, will the next Speaker of the House be Nancy Pelosi?

Flap is not so sure. It depends upon the nature of the majority.

But, then again, is the GOP in the midst of a “COMEBACK?”

    Stay tuned……

Global War on Terror Watch: Pakistani Airstrikes Spark Protests

    gwotoctober31eweb

Pakistani activists from Islami Jamiat Tulba — the student wing of the Jamaat-i-Islami fundamentalist party — shout slogans after setting US flags alight during a protest in Karachi. Radical Islamic leaders in Pakistan called for mass protests 31 October after around 80 people died in an airstrike on a suspected Al-Qaeda-linked training camp at a religious school.

    AP: Pakistani airstrike sparks protests

Pakistan’s army spokesman said Tuesday that the military used intelligence from U.S.-led coalition forces in a helicopter attack that left 80 people dead. Thousands of angry tribesmen decried both governments over the killings.

Maj. Gen. Shaukat Sultan, the chief army spokesman, told The Associated Press that American forces did not take part in Monday’s attack on a religious school, or madrassa, that Pakistan called a front for an al-Qaida training camp.

But he said his government received intelligence as part of long-standing cooperation with the U.S.-led coalition forces in
Afghanistan to battle terrorists operating along the porous border between the countries.

“Intelligence sharing was definitely there, but to say they (the coalition) have carried out the operation, that is absolutely wrong,” Sultan said. “One doesn’t know … what was the percentage of help (was provided).”

Sultan later contacted the AP to deny he had made the remarks.

    Ok, whatever!

How much did the Coalition forces contribute to yesterday’s airstrike is irrelevant. The fact that the airstrike happened and struck into Pakistan is noteworthy. But is it enough?

    gwotoctober31cweb

Pakistani students from Islami Jamiat-e-Talba group shout slogans and burn an effigy of U.S. President George W.Bush during a protest held in Peshawar October 31, 2006 to condemn an army attack on a religious school in the Chenagai area of the Bajaur tribal region bordering Afghanistan . Over 15,000 armed Pakistani tribesmen protested on Tuesday against a Pakistan Army helicopter attack on an al-Qaeda-linked madrasa in Bajaur tribal region that killed around 80 suspected militants.

Bill Roggio has more about the airstrikes.

How was the attack carried out?

Also Alexis Debat reports U.S. ‘drones’ – actually this would be Predator UAVs, conducted the strike, and not Pakistani helicopters. An American intelligence source informs us that the Pakistani Army does not possess the capabilities to conduct precision night strikes such as this attack. There are several possibilities here: it could have indeed been a Predator strike, or, more risky would be a strike by U.S. C-130 gunships. Conducting manned strikes over Pakistani airspace has its risks, including that of a shoot down and follow on rescue mission. The Asia Time’s Syed Saleem Shahzad reports this was a ‘NATO airstrike” by “helicopter gunships,” however it is highly unlikely this strike occurred under the aegis of NATO. Look for signs of Task Force 145 having carried out this raid, with unmanned Predators firing Hellfire missiles.

The protests will come (children were killed, the Korans were burned in the attack) but the message is continuing to be pounded into the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

    America is the STRONGER HORSE

ABC News: Zawahiri Was Target in U.S. Attack on Religious School in Pakistan

Ayman al Zawahiri was the target of a Predator missile attack this morning on a religious school in Pakistan, according to Pakistani intelligence sources.

ABC News has learned the raid was launched after U.S. intelligence received tips and examined Predator reconnaissance indicating that al Qaeda’s No. 2 man may have been staying at the school, which is located in the Bajaur region near the village that is thought to be al Qaeda’s winter headquarters.

Despite earlier reports that the missiles had been launched by Pakistani military helicopters, Pakistani intelligence sources now tell ABC News that the missiles were fired from a U.S. Predator drone plane.

Osama bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahiri

Stay tuned for the demonstrations of American incursion on Pakistan’s sovereign territory. But. some bad guys seem to have bitten the dust.

Between two and five senior al Qaeda militants were killed in the attack, including the mastermind of the airliners plot in the U.K., according to Pakistani intelligence sources.

No word yet on whether or not Zawahiri was killed in the raid, but one Pakistani intelligence source did express doubt that Zawahiri would have been staying in a madrassa, which is an obvious target for strikes against militants. That source, however, did express confidence that Pakistani intelligence is closing in on Zawahiri’s location.

One of the clerics who is believed to have been killed today, Maulana Liaquat, was one of the two main local leaders believed to be protecting Zawahiri.

Pakistani intelligence sources tell ABC News they believe they have “boxed” Zawahiri in a 40-square-mile area between the Khalozai Valley in Bajaur and the village of Pashat in Kunar, Afghanistan. They hope to capture or kill him in the next few months.

Global War on Terror Watch: Aussie Sheik Mohammed Omran – Judges Discriminate Against Muslim Rapists

    gwotoctober30gweb

The Australian (Via LGF): Muslim controversy spreads to Melbourne

Just as Sydney’s Sheik Taj al-Din al-Hilaly takes leave after his comments about women, the spotlight fell on comments by a Melbourne cleric, Sheik Mohammed Omran.

Sheik Omran reportedly told his flock on Friday judges discriminate against Muslim rapists.

He said rapes committed by Australian non-Muslims such as bikies or football stars were treated more leniently than those committed by Muslims, The Australian reports.

“I feel there is no justice here. Not 60 years and someone else three years, and they did the same crime. Why?,” Sheik Omran told worshippers at his Brunswick mosque.

“They make a big fuss about these kids because one of them, his name is Mohamed.

“Even if you kill someone you don’t go for 60 years.”

It is believed he was referring to notorious Sydney gang rapist Bilal Skaf, a Muslim sentenced to 55 years jail for a series of rapes in 2000.

“This is where everything has gone unbalanced,” Sheik Omran said. “We don’t support criminals or crimes, but at the same time we want justice for everyone.”

Sheik Omran also reportedly strongly defended Sheik Hilaly.

Oh and why not give special dispensation to the Muslim rapist? These women had it coming – they were UNCOVERED MEAT, right?

More 7th century “ENLIGHTENED” ideology from the radical Islamists.

In the meantime, Sydney’s Senior Muslim cleric, the proclaimer of UNCOVERED MEAT has asked for an indefinite leave from his duties.

Sheik Hilaly has asked for indefinite leave from his duties as Australia’s senior Muslim cleric.

On a dramatic day in which he collapsed and was rushed to hospital, the strain was showing on the religious leader whose comments comparing immodestly dressed women to pieces of meat have ignited a firestorm of controversy.

The sheik collapsed with chest pains during a meeting with Muslim leaders at Sydney’s Lakemba Mosque that was to have decided his future.

AP: Pakistani attack on al-Qaida kills 80

Pakistani troops and helicopters firing missiles killed as many as 80 militants training at a religious school used as an al-Qaida training center near the Afghan border, officials said.

Local leaders said all those slain when the school, or madrassa, was destroyed were civilians.

Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Shaukat Sultan said initial estimates based on intelligence sources on the ground indicated that the attack killed about 80 suspected militants, who appeared to be in their 20s and were from Pakistan and other countries.

“These militants were involved in actions inside Pakistan and probably in Afghanistan,” Sultan told The Associated Press.

The bodies of 20 men killed in the attack were lined up in a field near the madrassa, in Chingai village near Khar, the main town in the Bajur tribal district, before an impromptu burial attended by thousands of local people, according to an Associated Press reporter at the scene.

    gwotoctober30bweb

Pakistani tribesmen offer prayers during a funeral of alleged militants, who died in the Pakistani military attack, Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 in Chingai village near Khar, the main town Bajur, Pakistani tribal area along Afghan Border. Pakistani troops backed by missile-firing helicopters killed an estimated 80 militants when they destroyed a purported al-Qaida-linked training facility near the Afghan border, the military said.

Bill Roggio has more of the story: Airstrikes on Bajaur Training Camps

It is not believed any major al-Qaeda figures were present at the time of the strike. A good sign of this will be if any Uzbeks or Chechens are reported killed, as these two groups have deep roots in the Taliban and al-Qaeda in the region. Liaquat Hussain, the person that ran the madrassa, was believed to have been killed. And the ubiquitous Faqir Mohammed, who hosted the January Taliban and al-Qaeda leadership dinner party in Damadola, is also believed to have been inside the mosque during the strike. His death has not been confirmed. The custom of immediately burying the dead in unmarked graves makes it difficult to quickly identify those killed. The recent confirmation of the death of Muhsin Musa Matwalli Atwah highlights this problem. He was killed in a similar strike in Danda Saidgai in North Waziristan in April of 2006, and was only positively identified at the end of October.

While the Pakistanis are taking credit for this strike, the question arises as to whether this may have been conducted by Task Force 145, the U.S. special operations terrorist hunter-killer teams. Task Force 145 was responsible for the April raid in Danda Saidgai on the al-Qaeda’s training camp for Osama bin Laden’s Black Guard, his elite praetorian guard. Pakistan initially took credit for the Danda Saidgai strikes, but the Washington Post later revealed this was indeed a U.S. mission. Dawn notes the raid occurred “at around 5:00 am,” which means it was conducted in the dark, which means the Pakistani helicopter pilots would need night training in flight and targeting.

And the rationale for the attacks:

    gwotoctober30cweb

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shakut Aziz (L) escorts Britain’s Prince Charles during welcome ceremony at the Prime Minister’s house in Islamabad October 30, 2006. Prince Charles and his wife Camilla thanked Pakistan for efforts to counter terrorism on Monday at the start of a visit aimed at fostering goodwill in a country where most of Britain’s Muslims have family.

Unfortunatley it seems that this attack may be window dressing for the Brits while Prince Charles is in country such as it was the previous time when President Bush was in Pakistan. So will Pakistan keep up the operations on Al Qaeda and the Taliban?

Well, if Pakistan doesn’t then America and NATO WILL.

The Pakistanis have a knack for delivering a high level al-Qaeda leader or conducting a high profile strike when the need arises. The strike on Danda Saidgai occurred just as President Bush visited Pakistan and less than a week after the bombing of the Karachi Consulate that killed a U.S. diplomat. Britain’s Prince Charles, the future King of England, is currently in Pakistan, country. The NATO commander in Afghanistan, General James Jones, has just visited Pakistan and stated “the movements [of Taliban and al-Qaeda] across the border have increased since the signing of agreements on the other side of the border,” referring to the Wazristan Accord.

France Riot Watch: France Sends Riot Police to Marseille

A man looks at the wreckage of a bus that was set alight in the port city of Marseille. A young woman is in critical condition after a night of gang violence in parts of France that coincided with the first anniversary of the suburban riots that gripped the country.

AP: France sends riot police to Marseille

France’s interior minister sent riot police to patrol the southern port city of Marseille on Sunday after a group of marauding teenagers torched a bus, gravely burning a young woman.

French police braced for violence this weekend, the anniversary of last year’s riots in poor neighborhoods where immigrants from former French colonies in Africa live with their French-born children on the fringes of society.

On Saturday, 46 people were taken into custody, most of them in the communities around Paris, and two police officers were slightly injured. The most serious violence was the brutal bus attack in Marseille.

A group of young people burst onto the bus and tossed in a bottle of flammable liquid before fleeing, police said, citing witnesses’ accounts. The resulting fire injured a 26-year-old woman, who suffered second- and third-degree burns on her arms, legs and face and was in a medically induced coma on Sunday.

Why do the French people tolerate this crap from Muslim immigrants?
