In a humorous fundraising e-mail the Republican National Committee is playing upon the recent Obama vacation on Martha’s Vineyard.
Right after his tax-payer funded campaign tour of the Midwest this week, President Obama will be flying to Martha’s Vineyard for a nine day vacation. Before he jets off, send him a postcard.
He sure needs a break after a long year criss-crossing the country raising money to save his job – all the while over 14 million Americans are out of work and even more are suffering because of his policies.
After you send President Obama and your friends & family a postcard please take a moment to make a secure online contribution of $10, $15, $25, $50, $100 or more to support conservative candidates and help our Party defeat Barack Obama in 2012.
Sincerely,

Reince Priebus
Chairman, Republican National Committee
Well, it is kinder than Matt Drudge’s treatment of the President.

The Republican National Committee Video on Nancy Pelosi
The Republican National Committee has asserted a copyright claim to remove their Nancy Pelosi – Pussy Galore video from You Tube. As you can see above it has resurfaced for a time at another site.
Flap does not think the video is offensive and the RNC did NOT make a mistake so why the big deal now?
Do these GUTLESS WONDERS just like shooting themselves in the foot?

Republican National Committee Video on Speaker Nancy Pelosi
From Ben Smith:
The video, “Pelosi Galore,” was attacked from the left as sexist, and some Republicans also found it in poor taste.
RNC spokesman Trevor Francis confirned the committee had removed the video but declined to explain why.
Gutless.

Republican National Committee video on Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
The Politico has tried to make a big deal of the “below the belt” shot at Nancy Pelosi.
She’s the 69-year-old speaker of the House of Representatives, second in the line of succession and the most powerful woman in U.S. history.
But when you see Nancy Pelosi, the Republican National Committee wants you to think “Pussy Galore.â€
At least that’s the takeaway from a video released by the committee this week – a video that puts Pelosi side-by-side with the aforementioned villainess from the 1964 James Bond film “Goldfinger.â€
The RNC video, which begins with the speaker’s head in the iconic spy-series gun sight, implies that Pelosi has used her feminine wiles to dodge the truth about whether or not she was briefed by the CIA on the use of waterboarding in 2002. While the P-word is never mentioned directly, in one section the speaker appears in a split screen alongside the Bond nemesis – and the video’s tagline is “Democrats Galore.â€
Flap says BFD.
You think this is sexist?
Why?
Flap’s friend Darleen Click has the answer.
First off, we can probably question why little Ms. Andie’s editorial is listed in the “news†section of Politico. Secondly, we can then wonder where Ms. Andie was when Her Lord and Savior Obama was (using her metric of OUTRAGE over teh sexism) much less subtle in calling Sarah Palin a pig and flipping the bird to Hillary Clinton.
Two other women friends of Flap “GET IT.”
Fausta:
Well, booh-frickin’-whoo. Where was Politico when the Dems were calling Condoleezza Rice the “house negro“?
Little Miss Attila:
No, I don’t think the idea of the video below was to call the Speaker of the House a “pussy,†though the final tagline does allude to the Pussy Galore character, and does indeed imply that Nancy Pelosi is on the wrong side here, having taken on the intelligence community in the aggressive fashion that she did. Ultimately, the video’s implication is the opposite of what we usually mean to communicate with the word “pussy……”
What are they smoking? The President of the United States once made degrading remarks about Hilary Clinton’s menstrual cycles as part of his vicious primary battle against her; if the RNC is comparing Nancy to a femme fatale, that’s pretty small potatoes.
Alas, both AllahPundit and William Jacobson think the RNC shouldn’t have made the ad, since they should have known that it might be “distorted†by the opposite side. What are we permitted to say that cannot be distorted by the opposite side?
Again, BFD.

Republican National Chairman Michael Steele responds to a question during a news conference before the Vanderburgh County Right to Life fundraising dinner in Evansville, Indiana, April 16, 2009
Say what you will about RNC Chairman Michael Steele but he is raising the campaign cash for the Republican Party.
Moe Lane has run the numbers and finds that yet again, the RNC under Michael Steele has outraised the DNC under Tim Kaine, $5.76 million to $4.52 million; the RNC’s cash on hand margin is $24.38 million to $9.09 million; and the DNC owes $5.42 million in debt while the RNC has none.

Republican National Chairman Michael Steele
The Michael Steele GQ interview is here.
Some conservatives may NOT like it but Flap understands what Steele is doing – It is called OUTREACH.
On the other hand, it is Steele’s inconsistencies on the abortion question and OTHERS that have some wondering what utility Steele brings to the national GOP and Republican National Committee.
I have seen the man speak with conviction and passion at conservative events and leave everyone mightily impressed, but now we have to wonder whether Steele just tailored the message for the audience, as he appears to have done with Hughley and GQ. I don’t necessarily buy that, as he has easier ways to get media air time than being in the Republican Party, but it’s hard not to ask the question these days.
One thing is certain: he’s a lot less media savvy than most of us thought. And since he doesn’t seem to have much skill in organization, we have to ask ourselves why we should support his continued tenure as RNC chair.
Looks like to Flap that Michael Steele is a good pitchman on television and sells himself well, but that is all. California had that problem with Arnold Schwarzenegger – much to its later detriment.
