Barack Obama Watch: Bundler and Code Pink Co-Founder Jodie Evans Meets with Ahmadinejad
Cindy Sheehan, Jodie Evans, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and Medea Benjamin, January 28, 2006
Jodie has a history meeting with the world’s thugs. So, why not Iran’s President Ahmadinejad?Kristinn Taylor writes about the meeting.
A founding member of the campaign of Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois met in New York City Wednesday night with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Jodie Evans, who co-hosted Obama’s first major fundraiser in Hollywood in February 2007 just after Obama announced his candidacy and is a top fundraiser and donor to Obama’s campaign, led a delegation of leftist anti-American groups that held a private meeting near the United Nations. The stated purpose of the meeting was to “serve as an opening for diplomatic resolution” to prevent war between Iran and the United States.
The government of Iran is listed as a state sponsor of terrorism by the State Department and is strongly believed to be developing nuclear weapons.
Obama has stated that he would be willing to meet with Ahmadinejad and other enemies of the United States without conditions. Evans met with Obama in Beverly Hills last week at an exclusive $28,500 per person fundraiser. As a bundler for Obama, Evans is granted regular briefings with top Obama staff members and meeting with Obama and his vice presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware.
Obama has come under heavy criticism from military families and troops support organizations over his alliance with Evans.
Evans is co-founder of the pro-terrorist group Code Pink and works with state sponsors of terrorism to undermine America in the war on terror. She also has publicly announced her support for the terrorists in Iraq, her sympathy for Osama bin Laden and her “love” of Hugo Chavez.
Given Evans’ closeness to regular contacts with Obama and his campaign, it is fair to ask if she is acting as an intermediary for Obama.
Obama recently put his seal of approval on Evans’ attempt to storm the stage during the acceptance speech of Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska when he welcomed her to his two Hollywood fundraisers last week, the exclusive $28,500 per person event and the $2500 per person event Barbra Streisand sang at the same evening.
Others attending the meeting with Ahmadinejad included anti-American activists who support the terrorists in Iraq and work anti-American governments: Medea Benjamin, Brian Becker, Leslie Cagan, Larry Holmes and Ramsey Clark.
Maybe Barry will appoint Evans as Ambassador to Iran or Venezuela should he be elected President. This is just another outrageous anti-American left-wing radical who is supporting and closely associated with Barack Obama.
The press release announcing the meeting is here.
The press release from Code Pink is here.
The CODEPINK women proposed inviting American and Iranian artists to build a “peace park†in Tehran, a memorial dedicated to people-to-people commitment to peace and diplomacy between our two countries.
They also proposed a plan to invest funds in an Iranian business, one that produces green and sustainable products, such as bicycles. This grassroots investment would be the opposite of efforts by the Bush administration and Congress to tighten sanctions, a move which CODEPINK thinks would only hurt ordinary, everyday Iranians. Such a symbolic CODEPINK investment in a green, sustainable business would challenge U.S. regulations blocking trade with Iran and would show how diplomacy and trade are preferable to war and sanctions.
Bicycles and a “Peace Park” – Wow!
How about asking Ahmadinejad to stop providing weapons to kill American soldiers in Iraq or sending missiles to Hezbollah to fire against Israel?
No, this would be asking to much for these radical apologists.
Here are a few more photos of the Obama major fundraiser Jodie Evans who will be co-hosting “Voices for a Senate Majority” fundraiser to support Democrat senatorial candidates this coming Saturday.

We last saw Jodie Evans (left) and Medea Benjamin at the RNC where they tried to storm the stage during Governor Sarah Palin’s talk. They entered the arena using stolen identities of Republican delegates.

As for local government endorsements, there seems to be a certain sense of unanimity. Strickland has all the city council members in the Republican-dominated cities of Santa Clarita and Lompoc. In the Democratic-dominated areas of the district, Jackson has the entire Ventura Unified School District board, the entire Santa Barbara City Council, five out of seven members of the Ventura City Council.
If you want to see a full list, one is available on Jackson's website. On the Strickland website under "endorsements," however, the message reads: "This page will be updated shortly."

Then Timm, how did you figure out the endorsements? Oh yeah, by press release. Like the rest of us.

Although Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden routinely mocks his Republican counterpart, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, for her onetime support of the infamous "Bridge to Nowhere," Biden and his running mate voted to keep the project alive twice.

A recent AP-Yahoo! News poll found that 18 percent of likely voters are up for grabs — undecided or willing to change their minds — little more than five weeks before Americans choose between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain.
A large chunk of these voters say they are hurting on a personal level from the country's economic woes, and, like everyone else, they say the economy is the top issue. Most haven't decided who would best solve their problems as president; neither candidate has an advantage on handling the economy.

One of the reason it went nowhere? The opposition from guys like Barack Obama. You know, the guy taking more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's folk than anybody else except Chris Dodd.
So let me spell it out for you even clearer, Dan. Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae didn't have to buy access to John McCain because they had already bought your guy.

Time's Mark Halperin has posted an advance copy of the cover of US Weekly magazine, the tabloid published by Rolling Stone's Jann Wenner. That cover shows a smiling Sarah Palin, holding her youngest son Trig. The screaming headline: "Babies, Lies and Scandal: John McCain's Vice President."
Wenner has contributed $5300 to Obama's campaign since 2007.
The cover was sent to select news organizations by Mark Neschis, the head of corporate communications for Wenner Media and former director of television in the Clinton White House. An email from Neschis that accompanied the cover read: "Thought I would send over our Us Weekly/Sarah Palin cover story, on stands Friday, if helpful in your coverage. Might be useful as an illustration of how the news is playing out. (Us Weekly has 12 million, mostly female readers)"

But doesn't it seem a bit more appalling that now-taxpayer-backed Freddie Mac has been paying Davis' firm $15k a month for the past two years — $315,000 since January 2007 — to, in their own description, do nothing? I mean, no wonder that place's management ran it into the ground.
-
Today the New York Times launched its latest attack on this campaign in its capacity as an Obama advocacy organization. Let us be clear about what this story alleges: The New York Times charges that McCain-Palin 2008 campaign manager Rick Davis was paid by Freddie Mac until last month, contrary to previous reporting, as well as statements by this campaign and by Mr. Davis himself.
In fact, the allegation is demonstrably false. As has been previously reported, Mr. Davis separated from his consulting firm, Davis Manafort, in 2006. As has been previously reported, Mr. Davis has seen no income from Davis Manafort since 2006. Zero. Mr. Davis has received no salary or compensation since 2006. Mr. Davis has received no profit or partner distributions from that firm on any basis — weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual — since 2006. Again, zero. Neither has Mr. Davis received any equity in the firm based on profits derived since his financial separation

If we are to believe the Jewish leaders in Iran and accept their words that Iran is a paradise for Jews to live in, then why has the once 100,000 strong Jewish community dwindled down to 20,000? Why have thousands of Jews fled Iran since 1979 and been forced to leave billions of dollars in assets behind if the regime is so fair and gives rights to Jews? If Iran is such a just and fair country to the Jews, then why do Iranian Islamic laws, have separate punishments for the same crimes depending on whether the victim is Muslim or not, or whether the offender is Muslim or non-Muslim? For example, in the case of rape…if the man is a Muslim and the woman a Jew (or any non-Muslim) the man will face no penalty, except pay the woman compensation if it was a very violent rape. But if a non-Muslim rapes a Muslim woman, the only punishment he will face is execution!

All four of these rapes occurred after the law was signed in Alaska protecting sexual assault victims from having to pay for the cost of rape kits. Experts, including Del Smith, the Deputy Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Public Safety, Lauree Hugonin, Director, Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, and Trisha Gentle, Executive Director, Council on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault, noted in committee testimony that no law enforcement agencies in Alaska were known to have billed rape victims for the cost of forensic medical exams, but that some hospitals had done so.
As noted above, the city of Wasilla paid for the only two rape kits used in in 2000, and the two used in 2001. Four kits were used over these two years, for a total of $2,238.

Mr. Johnson and Mr. Raines aren't the only figures in the subprime mortgage scandal to be connected to the Obama campaign. Jamie Gorelick, rumored to be an attorney general candidate in an Obama administration, was vice chairman of Fannie Mae from 1997 to 2003. Penny Pritzker, Mr. Obama's national finance chairman, has been described as "the Michael Milken of the subprime mortage crisis" for her pioneering of the packaging of bad loans with good ones at her now defunct Superior bank in suburban Chicago.
"The financial engineering that created the financial meltdown was developed by the Pritzkers and Ernst and Young, working with Merrill Lynch to sell bonds securitized by sub-prime mortgages," said Timothy Anderson, a retired bank consultant.

Sarah Palin Watch: An Affair?
The National Enquirer says it has the goods on Sarah Palin and her former lover, Todd Palin’s former business partner, Brad Hanson. So, who spilled the beans – the ex-brother-in-law of estranged wife of Palin’s lover or put it this way: Jim Burdett – the ex-con former brother-in-law of Brad Hanson’s wife Carolyn’s brother Craig Bratton.
Confused? Those family lineage things are always confusing.
Supposedly Burdett, the “inside source” took a polygraph and passed. Another anonymous source provided a sworn affidavit to the Enquirer.
Does Flap buy the story?
Nahhhhh. IT is the National Enquirer, after all. But, they were right on the John Edward’s affair.

Credit Markets Begin to Seize Up Over Bailout Fears
This is why the President was addressing the nation tonight and why Congressional leaders, plus the Presidential candidates are meeting tomorrow at the White House. The fight over the Bush administration’s plans for a $700bn financial rescue package unnerved markets and spilled over into the US presidential race on Wednesday as John McCain, the Republican nominee, said he would put his campaign on hold until a deal was reached.
Amid uncertainty about the plan’s prospects, US money market funds controlling thousands of billions of dollars in assets led a stampede to safety, buying short-term government debt, selling commercial paper and withdrawing funds from the interbank market. As a result, the rates that banks charge each other soared, while yields on Treasury bills plunged.
As officials struggled to address the mounting political objections, Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve chairman, told Congress turmoil in the markets could lead to greater economic pain. Peter Orszag, head of the Congressional Budget Office, warned lawmakers of possible “chaos†if Congress did nothing. “You would have a financial market meltdown that would cause very severe dislocations  . . . maybe on the magnitude of the Great Depression.â€
Back to the drawing board tomorrow but they better work quick and through the weekend if need be. If the credit markets seize up then the layoffs start on Monday afternoon.

Timm Herdt of the Ventura County Star Learns of Political Endorsements from Websites?; Update: And Still Gets Tony Strickland’s WRONG
If you want to see a full list, one is available on Jackson’s website. On the Strickland website under “endorsements,” however, the message reads: “This page will be updated shortly.”
But, how did he write the rest of his piece?
Oh Yeah!
Press releases or actual reporting.
So, the piece’s title should read: Tony Strickland’s web master failed to write down his too numerous endorsements.
Right?
Try this link, Timm.
Update:By the way, Timm, please revise your piece. Tony Strickland has won the endorsement of Santa Barbara City Councilman Dale Francisco so your statement that Hannah-Beth Jackson has the unanimous endorsement of the Santa Barbara City Council does NOT pass FACT CHECK.
