Rush Limbaugh and Leaving New York

Jon Stewart yesterday on The Daily Show

Rush Limbaugh says he is leaving New York due to excess taxation.

Conservative standard bearer Rush Limbaugh told his radio audience that if Governor David Paterson’s new budget passes, he’ll move his show out of New York.

He told listeners, “I don’t know what the breaking point is … when people leave, I’m leaving … I’ll sell my condominium, I’ll sell my apartment. I’m going to get out of there totally. This is just absurd.”

Limbaugh is just one of many New Yorkers angry about the Governor’s weekend proposal to hike taxes for those making more than $250,000. The controversial talking head, who came clean about an addiction to pain killers in October 2003, is well in tune to his reputation in the Big Apple.

“New York is probably going to celebrate that I’m not going to come back … They hate me, so they’re happy I’m not coming back,” he said on his radio show. “They’re going to praise Paterson for driving me out, even though I am rarely there anyway.”

Limbaugh quoted a statement made by Mayor Bloomberg years ago saying that, “there are 40-50,000 taxpayers in this city of 8 million that pay so much tax they essentially support the city. If even 5,000 of them leave because of the tax hikes, there’ll be a big problem.”

This is certainly Limbaugh’s perogative and the fact that New York Governor is being reported to have said that if he knew that Rush would leave the state then he would have raised taxes earlier certainly cannot be settling for high income New York earners.

Besides left-wing comedian Jon Stewart can pay his fair share instead.

Obama Administration Backs Away from Veteran’s Policy After Jon Stewart Rips Obama’s Plan to Charge Wounded Veterans for Medical Care

It only took two days of concerted discussion with Veteran’s groups which became hopping mad to get the Obama Administration to back away from their outrageous policy to charge wounded veterans for their medical care.

The White House on Wednesday backed off a controversial plan that would have dramatically altered the way the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) handles insurance claims, after veterans groups staged an all-out fight against such a proposal.

President Obama will not pursue a proposal that would have allowed the VA to charge private insurance companies for the treatment of veterans with service- and war-related injuries. The proposal raised the ire of prominent Democrats on the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs panels. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was the first to announce Wednesday afternoon that the president won’t pursue such a proposal.

For the second time in a week, representatives from prominent veterans organizations went to the White House on Wednesday to meet with the White House chief of staff on VA budget issues.

Jim King, the national executive director for American Veterans (AMVETS), said that the meeting with Rahm Emanuel lasted all of 15 minutes and that the health insurance issue was the only topic discussed. The representatives of the 11 veterans organizations told Emanuel they were not willing to back down, and the chief of staff told them that he thought the issue was “off the table,” but that he needed to talk to Obama.

Another problem with Obama’s competence? Like AIG? Or does Obama not truly respect Veterans – since he ain’t one?

In the meantime, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spins the full retreat by Obama (Via Ed):

“President Obama listened to the genuine concerns expressed by the veteran service organizations regarding the option of billing service-connected injuries to veterans’ insurance companies,” said Pelosi. “Based on the respect President Obama has for veterans and the principle concerns of our veteran leaders, the president made the decision that combat wounds should not be billed through their insurance policies.”
Pelosi made her comments at a meeting with veterans’ service organizations at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. After her announcement, the group gave her a standing ovation.

Jon Stewart: That Can’t Be Right – Veteran’s Health Insurance

Obama is doing rather poorly when Jon Stewart rips his wounded veteran’s policy. No wonder “The One” is going on Jay Leno tomorrow night.

By the way, I have ridiculed this betrayal of trust Obama policy a number of times.

Jon Stewart Hammers Jim Cramer on The Daily Show – What About Bush?

Cramer vs. Stewart: ‘Mad Money’ Host Faces Multiple Slams in ‘Daily Show’ Showdown

Now the discussion about the economic meltdown is about the greed and corruption of Wall Street and NOT Boooooosssh. Why is it not focusing on the Obama Administration’s attempt at a solution?

    By spending $Trillions……..

No, Stewart who is a left-wing supporter of “The One” would rather focus on Cramer.

Jon Stewart hammered Jim Cramer and his network, CNBC, in their anticipated face-off on “The Daily Show,” repeatedly chastising the “Mad Money” host for putting entertainment above journalism.

“I understand that you want to make finance entertaining, but it’s not a … game,” Stewart told Cramer, adding in an expletive during the show’s Thursday taping. The episode was scheduled to air at 11 p.m. EDT on Comedy Central.

It was perhaps the hardest lashing Stewart has given to a TV commentator since 2004 when he called Tucker Carlson and his then co-host Paul Begala “partisan hacks” on CNN’s “Crossfire,” the since canceled political commentary program.

    How relevant is this?

Shocker: John Stewart Drops the F-BOMB on Sarah Palin

Jon Stewart, performing at homecoming festivities for Northeastern University in Boston, Mass

Flap fully expects this video to disappear under some copyright infringement BS so enjoy it while you can.

Here is a transcript that the LEFT thought police cannot take down:

“He (McCain) made an interesting vice presidential choice.

I like the woods…I just don’t know if I would pull my vice president out of the woods randomly.

She came out again today. She was talking to a small town, she said that small towns, that’s the part of the country she really likes going to because that’s the pro-America part of the country.

You know, I just want to say to her, just very quickly…[expletive] you.

I’ve never seen someone with a greater disparity between how cute they sound when they’re saying something and how terrible what they’re saying is.

Don’t ya know, Obama, by golly, he just is a terrorist? What? Oh, you know, he just, gosh, kills babies, you know.

I’m so over the idea that only small-town America is the heart and soul. Small-town America is fine, but it’s the same as cities. Cities are just a lot of towns piled on top of each other in one place.

They have this whole thing that somehow we can write off entire swaths of the country, that we are somehow…I get it. You know, New York City wasn’t good enough for [expletive] Osama bin Laden, it better be good enough for you.

I can’t take it anymore. After eight years of this divisiveness, we’re back to this idea that only small-town America is the real America.

I get it. I’m from New York. We have a lot of gay people. But homosexuals don’t have sodomy on Russian flags.”

    Real class from John Stewart.

Flap does not watch him, Colbert or Comedy Central much in any case. But, this cannot do much for marketing his show in red states, now will it?

But, Flap is positive the Hollywood Left will give him points and another Academy Awards hosting gig.
