CA-Sen: Carly Fiorina Calls on Senator Barbara Boxer to Stand Up for California on Obamacare

    From CallMeBarbara.com

    From the press release:

U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today asked Californians to join her in calling on Barbara Boxer to stand up for California by voting against the health care overhaul plan currently working its way through Congress by launching an online petition.

“Instead of giving away sweetheart deals to other states and casting votes as if she were Nebraska’s third senator, Barbara Boxer should stand up for the Californians whom she was elected to represent by voting against this health care plan,” said Fiorina. “Not only does the plan fail to improve the quality of patient care, but it also burdens our state budget with another $3 billion, raises taxes on the middle class and increases health care premiums at a time when Californians can least afford it.”

The online petition, which is available by clicking here, allows voters to sign the petition and send Boxer the message that they not only oppose this plan, but want her as their representative to vote against it.

This petition is the latest addition to CallMeBarbara.com, a Web site launched by Carly for California in November to provide voters with more information about Barbara Boxer’s failed and ineffective representation. The site asks voters to give Barbara Boxer a break and send her back to California, where she can be referred to as just “Barbara” instead of her insisting on being called “Senator.”

“Our representatives in Washington were elected to fight for California – not to capitulate to the special interests,” Fiorina added. “I urge all Californians who care about the health and well-being of their families and loved ones to join me in calling on Barbara Boxer and our other congressional representatives to defend our state by voting against this terrible plan.”

The Senate Obamacare bill is a disaster for California taxpayers. In fact, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has called it a rip-off and an illegal buying off of a vote.

Come on Barbara – stand up for California and vote NO on Obamacare.

By the way, go and sign the Carly Fiorina online petition here.

How will Obama’s lies play into the healthcare debate?

Some Senators may be very reluctant to accept any changes in the Harry Reid crafted Senate bill knowing the GOP will beat them over the head with the non-transparency issue in November.

On the House side, Nancy Pelosi lefties will find it hard to swallow the”sell out” of the public option.

Even if some sort of a healthcare reform bill passes, it will be a watered-down version which will be reversed before it ever goes into fuill effect. At best Obamacare will be a massive tax increase to support more Medicaid spending which will bankrupt the states.

    Some change……

Flap cannot envision young students who are contemplating a career in medicine or dentistry embarking upon over eight years of study, massive education debt to end up working for bureaucrats and military type salaries.

And, under Obamacare, California’s MICRA law which has capped medical malpractice awards will most probably be repealed or modified. When the professional liability premiums start to skyrocket, Flap will retire from the practice of dentistry.

Maybe the government will pay for my retraining?

    How ridiculous is this?

One wonders with all of the machinations of Obamacare and a final bill yet to be crafted what effects this will have on the nation’s physicians and dentists.

But, I suppose all of the politicicans and trial lawyers consider them all rich and so screw them.

The problem will be when you are sick or in an accident there will be nobody to treat you.

To all of Flapsblog readers, I wish a Merry Christmas.

Day By Day December 23, 2009 – 24 Hour Bug

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Chris, some members of the Democrat Hard LEFT like Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse have become unhinged over Obamacare. I mean comments like the following are just unbalanced and they were made on the floor of the United States Senate:

“Voting ‘no’ and hiding from the vote are the same result. Those of us on the floor see it. It was clear the three of them who did not cast their yes votes until all 60 Senate votes had been tallied and it was clear that the result was a foregone conclusion. And why? Why all this discord and discourtesy, all this unprecedented destructive action? All to break the momentum of our new young president.

They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one.”

But, name calling and Saul Alinksy tactics are NOT working as evidenced by the latest polls. The Democrats have to craft a bill in Conference Committee which will make all of their desperate party elements happy. This will not be an easy job.

In the meantime, the American voters will become even more acquainted with the tax increasing, budget busting details of Obamacare.

And, just in, the White House is now telling the press that due to January’s crowded congressional calendar, Obamacare talks will move into February past President Obama’s State of the Union address.

    Stay tuned…….

Obamacare: American Voters “Mostly Disapprove” By 17 Points

Nebraska Democrat Senator Ben Nelson as the Joker (Graphic Courtesy of Michelle Malkin)

The joke is on the Democrats as American voters overwhelmingly oppose Obamacare health reforms.

As the Senate prepares to vote on health care reform, American voters “mostly disapprove” of the plan 53 – 36 percent and disapprove 56 – 38 percent of President Barack Obama’s handling of the health care issue, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Voters also oppose 72 – 23 percent using any public money in the health care overhaul to pay for abortions, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds.

And, Senator Ben Nelson,a Democrat in red state Nebraska who provided the swing vote to invoke cloture and push the Senate health care reform bill forward is particularly feeling the heat.

Joker indeed and one who will be soon feel the wrath of Nebraska voters.

Day By Day December 22, 2009 – What They Can Understand

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Chris, President Obama and the Congressional Democrats have quite the record to run on in the 2010 Congressional midterm elections. And, George W. Bush will NOT be there to kick around anymore.

The American economy has NOT faired well under Obama. Voters continue to worry if their job is the next to be lost. They are NOT worried about redistributing health care to someone else while watching their taxes go up.

As @lesliecarbone said recently on Twitter: The Democrats ramming Obamacare though the Congress is a Christmas present for the GOP.

Indeed it is and the Democrats will be punished next November. The Obamacare votes and machinations of the past few weeks will ALL be reversed.

Day By Day December 21, 2009 – He Works Hard for the Money

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Democrat Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska provided the 60th vote necessary to invoke cloture and speed a watered-down version of Obamacare to a full Senate vote. It is being called by the GOP as “Cash for Cloture.”

It was the concern of Nebraska’s Republican governor over expanded Medicaid costs in the proposed Senate health care overhaul bill that led to a compromise to cover his state’s estimated $45 million share over a decade, U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson said Sunday.

Gov. Dave Heineman “contacted me and he said this is another unfunded federal mandate and it’s going to stress the state budget, and I agreed with him,” the Nebraska Democrat said. “I said to the leader and others that this is something that has to be fixed. I didn’t participate in the way it was fixed.”

But Heineman expressed anything but gratitude, saying he had nothing to do with the compromise and calling the overhaul bill “bad news for Nebraska and bad news for America.”

“Nebraskans did not ask for a special deal, only a fair deal,” Heineman said in a statement Sunday.

That criticism is only a taste of what Nelson has received since announcing Saturday that he would become the 60th vote needed to advance the landmark legislation.

Despite the perks Nelson managed to garner for Nebraska in finally agreeing to support the overhaul bill, the backlash from those who wanted Nelson to hold a hard line against the measure was immediate.

Abortion foes howled in protest. Nebraska Right to Life, which has long endorsed Nelson, issued a scathing statement that dubbed Nelson a traitor. The state’s Catholic bishops followed Sunday with a statement that they were “extremely disappointed” in him.

The chairman of Nebraska’s Republican Party declared Nelson’s decision to be the end of his political career in Nebraska, and within hours of Nelson’s announcement, the state GOP launched a Web site, , to collect funds to oust the Democrat in the 2012 election.http://www.givebentheboot.com

Nebraska’s Republican Sen. Mike Johanns said he was “stunned and incredibly disappointed,” and called the compromise’s abortion language a “watered-down accounting gimmick that leads to Nebraska taxpayers subsidizing abortions in other states.”

The Obama sanctioned Senate bill must now be voted upon by the full Senate and then proceed to a House-Senate Conference Committee where it will be reconciled.

Stay tuned as the more LEFT members of the House attempt to place back “big government” and abortion-funding provisions which were summarily removed from the Senate version.

What was noteworthy on the Senate vote, was that NO GOP Senators voted for the bill. The Democrats own this bill and will OWN all of the tax increases and deficit spending.

Day By Day December 15, 2009 – Change!

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Should President Obama NOT be able to persuade his Democrat Party colleagues in the Senate regarding Obamacare, he may be changing his own shorts. Obamacare has changed as the Democrats in the Congress have failed to achieve a consensus as to what health care reform REALLY is.

President Barack Obama will meet with Senate Democrats at the White House Tuesday to press for action at a make-or-break moment for his health care overhaul.

All 60 members of the Democratic caucus have been invited, according to three Democratic officials. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement was not yet public.

The meeting comes as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid works to round up votes to get a sweeping health bill passed before Christmas. The outcome is uncertain with moderates in danger of defecting on issues including abortion and a proposed expansion of Medicare.

The latest proposal ot hit the skids is the Medicare Buy-in Provision.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is prepared to give in to demands from centrists in order to pass the healthcare legislation before Christmas, senators say.

Reid indicated at a closed-door Democratic Conference meeting on Monday that he would drop a controversial Medicare buy-in provision, which was offered as a replacement to the government-run health insurance option, to win the votes of Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Ben Nelson (D-Neb.).

The public option was eliminated last week.

What really is left? Portability? Increasing medicaid?

And, your grade now, Mr. President?
