Update: Olbermann Responds – Keith Olbermann Fired by Current TV

+++++ Scroll down for the Update +++++

Not really surprising – Keith Olbermann is just too high maintenance.

Current TV has fired Keith Olbermann, a network spokeswoman told TheWrap.

The controversial news host has been at the fledgling cable channel for less than a year.

Eliot Spitzer will replace Olbermann starting Friday night, the network announced.

Olberman got into a contretemps with the network over his role during Republican primary election coverage last December. But the host has a history of butting heads with management and other bosses, starting with ESPN, including MSNBC and now with the leadership at Current.

In its move on Friday, Current was clearly fed up with its star newsman.

“Current was also founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it,” the network wrote in a letter to viewers published on its website.

    So long, Keith.

You really won’t be missed and I hope you have some savings/investments, since I think you are pretty much finished in television.

    Update:

    Keith Olbermann responds:

    My full statement:

I’d like to apologize to my viewers and my staff for the failure of Current TV.

Editorially, Countdown had never been better. But for more than a year I have been imploring Al Gore and Joel Hyatt to resolve our issues internally, while I’ve been not publicizing my complaints, and keeping the show alive for the sake of its loyal viewers and even more loyal staff. Nevertheless, Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt, instead of abiding by their promises and obligations and investing in a quality news program, finally thought it was more economical to try to get out of my contract.

It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current’s statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently. To understand Mr. Hyatt’s “values of respect, openness, collegiality and loyalty,” I encourage you to read of a previous occasion Mr. Hyatt found himself in court for having unjustly fired an employee. That employee’s name was Clarence B. Cain. http://nyti.ms/HueZsa

In due course, the truth of the ethics of Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt will come out. For now, it is important only to again acknowledge that joining them was a sincere and well-intentioned gesture on my part, but in retrospect a foolish one. That lack of judgment is mine and mine alone, and I apologize again for it.

Good luck, Keith, with that next job.

OOPS Video of the Day: Mark Halperin Says Obama “Was Kind of a Dick”

Oh the horrors! I guess the bloom is off the rose and the press has taken the goves off for “The One.”

MSNBC has suspended Mark Halperin from being its senior political analyst after he called Pres. Obama “kind of a dick” on “Morning Joe” today. Statement from MSNBC:

Mark Halperin’s comments this morning were completely inappropriate and unacceptable.? We apologize to the President, The White House and all of our viewers. We strive for a high level of discourse and comments like these have no place on our air.  Therefore, Mark will be suspended indefinitely from his role as an analyst.

But, I remember some statements from Keith Olbermann on MSNBC about President George W. Bush…..ultimately calling him a fascist. Oh but wait, Bush had it coming. Olbermann wasn’t even suspended.

Alas, Mark Halperin has apologized, will be scolded, be back to work soon and I wonder who will next tell it like it is about President Obama?

How about the voters in November 2012.

Updated: Video: Keith Olbermann Says Conservative S.E. Cupp Demonstrates the Necessity of Planned Parenthood

    +++++Update+++++

Keith “I am a Moron” Olbermann cannot leave his assinine remarks about S. E. Cupp and Planned Parenthood alone.

Last Thursday, future Current TV host Keith Olbermann touched off some controversy when he tweeted, about conservative pundit S.E. Cupp, “On so many levels she’s a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does”

After several days of Twitter fighting, and online buttals and rebuttals, Olbermann has opted to make non-factual statements about his intent, rather than simply to apologize.

    Here are the tweets:

Pot calling the kettle black without a doubt. Watch the video below and the original post and I think you will agree.

S.E. Cupp and Jerry Springer on the Joy Behar show

Keith Olbermann is always the master of class.

The leviathan of all things wise, former MSNBC host and Current TV’s chief news officer Keith Olbermann, tried to cover his tracks Thursday afternoon after implying on Twitter that he wished Planned Parenthood had prevented conservative pundit S.E. Cupp’s birth.

“On so many levels she’s a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does RT @meow_6 #worstpersons S.E Cupp bashing PP on Joy Behar last nite. http://j.mp/hktGUX,” Olbermann posted.

Upon receiving a number of negative reactions, Olbermann revisited his sentiment, bringing the current debate about the actual work of Planned Parenthood into the mix and an ad hominem attack at Arizona Republican Senator John Kyl for good measure.

“.@oakdogg I said no such thing. Only 3% of PP’s work is abortions. Unless you’re moron Jon Kyl,” he posted, referring to Kyl’s exaggeration that 90 percent of Planned Parenthood’s business was abortions.

The more he backed away, the more evident the tenor of his original posting – that he wished S.E. Cupp had never been born.

“@JonesNetIT I never mentioned abortion. I said her parents could have used counseling by PP rather than get the results they did,”Olbermann wrote, adding, ”@maggiefanelli no, I insinuated her parents would’ve helped the earth had they consulted PP for birth control.”

Here is the tweet that started the flap:

Well, Olbermann is a MORON and what do you really expect? He fits right in there with the equally moronic Al Gore at the Current television operation.

But, what equally shameful was the conduct of Jerry Springer (also a lefty, but an older one) who continued to make make faces and condescending remarks while S.E. Cupp was making her point (see the video above).

    Shame on you too, Jerry.

Day By Day by Chris Muir May 17, 2009 – Bitch, Yet Still Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals

    day by day 051709

Day By Day by Chris Muir

The LEFT is attempting to marginalize their opposition using the Saul Alinsky Rules for Radicals. Look at some of the rules and apply them to modern day situations in the media and blogosphere.

Alinsky provides a collection of rules to guide the process.  But he emphasizes these rules must be translated into real-life tactics that are fluid and responsive to the situation at hand.

RULE 1: “Power is not only what I have, but what the enemy thinks I have.”  Power is derived from two main sources — money and people.   “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.

(These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply.  Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.)

RULE 2: “I never go outside the expertise of ‘my people’.”  It results in confusion, fear and retreat.  Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.

(Organizations under attack wonder why radicals don’t address the “real” issues.  This is why.  They avoid things with which they have no knowledge.)

RULE 3: “Whenever possible, I go outside the expertise of the enemy.”  I look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.

(This happens all the time.  Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”  If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, I send 30,000 letters.  I can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.

(This is a serious rule.  The besieged entity’s very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”  There is no defense.  It’s irrational.  It’s infuriating.  It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

(Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh?  He wants to create anger and fear.)

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one ‘my people’ enjoy.”  They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more.  They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.

(Radical activists, in this sense, are no different than any other human being.  We all avoid “un-fun” activities, and but we revel at and enjoy the ones that work and bring results.)

RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.”  Don’t let it become old news.

(Even radical activists get bored.  So to keep them excited and involved, organizers are constantly coming up with new tactics.)

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”  I keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance.  As the opposition masters one approach, I hit them from the flank with something new.

(Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”  Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.

(Perception is reality.  Large organizations always prepare a worst-case scenario, something that may be furthest from the activists’ minds.  The upshot is that the organization will expend enormous time and energy, creating in its own collective mind the direst of conclusions.  The possibilities can easily poison the mind and result in demoralization.)

RULE 10: “If I push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.”  Violence from the other side can win the public to my side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.

(Unions used this tactic.  Peaceful [albeit loud] demonstrations during the heyday of unions in the early to mid-20th Century incurred management’s wrath, often in the form of violence that eventually brought public sympathy to their side.)

RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”  I never let the enemy score points because I’d be caught without a solution to the problem.

(Old saw: If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.  Activist organizations have an agenda, and their strategy is to hold a place at the table, to be given a forum to wield their power.  So, they have to have a compromise solution.)

RULE 12: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”  I cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy.  I go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

(This is cruel, but very effective.  Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

According to Alinsky, the main job of the organizer is to bait an opponent into reacting.  “The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.”

Do we see some interesting examples in our every day lives with the media LEFT, President Obama and the Congressional Democrats?

How about Keith Olbermann and the daily “Worst Person in the World Award?”

The Democrats demonizing first Karl rove, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Steele, then Dick Cheney, etc. etc.. A designated RIGHT hater of the week, so to speak.

Kind of falls into a strategy, don’t you think?

Now, how will the RIGHT fight back with a winning playbook of its own?

Video: The Obligatory Gay Gynephobia and Miss California USA Carrie Prejean

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and Gay Writer Michael Musto practice their special brand of misogyny on Miss California USA Carrie Prejean

Yeah, the gay marriage and homosexual folks are not through yet with Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean.

You remember the Flap about her comments to Gay Blogger and Hollywood Gossiper Perez Hilton favoring traditional marriage.

Now, here comes the ridicule and mocking about Carrie Prejean’s breast implants and this is not the first time.

So, typical of the LEFT and the gay marriage proponents – attack the messenger. Saw this type of crap during and after the California Proposition 8 campaign, now didn’t we?. And, more than once or twice.

And, it will continue because the whole point of the gay-rights movement is to abolish your right to disagree with them.

Keith Olbermann v. Twitter – The Worst Person in the World Apology

Keith Olbermann Apologizes to Twitter and Dan Cooper for being called the Worst Persons in the World?

It ONLY gets better for Keith Olbermann. Remember the Flap and Olbermann calling Twitter the WORST in the world?

I’ve previously written at length about Keith Olbermann smearing Twitter and Dan Cooper, suggesting that they, along with Fox News, conspired to defraud America by setting up a fake Twitter account in Keith’s name. As we all know by now, Keith couldn’t have done a worse job with that segment. Not only was the Twitter account legit, he actually had a second account for his show, which tweeted the very segment where he denied being a part of Twitter!! Well, Keith has finally decided to address the smear.

Well, Olbermann really does NOT apologize but says just enough to probably avoid a lawsuit from Dan Cooper and Twitter.

Keith Olberman remains, the biggest IDIOT in the Woooooorrrlllllldddddd…….
