Look at the latest.Russia will deploy new missiles aimed at U.S. missile defense sites in Europe if Washington goes ahead with the planned shield despite Russia’s concerns, President Dmitry Medvedev said Wednesday.
Russia will station missiles in its westernmost Kaliningrad region and other areas if Russia and NATO fail to reach a deal on the U.S.-led missile defense plans, he said in a tough statement that seemed to be aimed at rallying domestic support.
Weakness in an American President (like Obama is) has NEVER been a good thing for world peace.

Pakistanis Burn Obama Effigy as America Increases Pressure on Pakistan
The Obama international honeymoon is definitely over.The United States on Tuesday demanded that Pakistan dismantle a terrorist network blamed for attacking a U.S. embassy as Pakistanis defended efforts to fight militants and demonstrated against the increasing U.S. pressure.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said Pakistan “needs to take action to deal with the links” that U.S. officials say exist between the Pakistani intelligence agency and the Haqqani Network, based along Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan.
He repeated claims by other U.S. officials that the Haqqani terrorists are “responsible for attacks on the U.S. Embassy” in Afghanistan and on other Western targets.
The United States has been publicly increasing pressure on Pakistan since Navy Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Congress last week that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency helped plan the attacks on the embassy and NATO headquarters in the Afghan capital, Kabul, two weeks ago.
Pakistan defended its efforts to fight terrorism Tuesday, when Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar told the U.N. General Assembly that her country has lost more than 30,000 people to terrorist attacks over the past decade.
But, never fear, the weak-kneed Obama Administration is now walking back on Mullen’s statements.
Adm. Mike Mullen’s assertion last week that an anti-American insurgent group in Afghanistan is a “veritable arm” of Pakistan’s spy service was overstated and contributed to overheated reactions in Pakistan and misperceptions in Washington, according to American officials involved in U.S. policy in the region.
The internal criticism by the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they did not want to challenge Mullen openly, reflects concern over the accuracy of Mullen’s characterizations at a time when Obama administration officials have been frustrated in their efforts to persuade Pakistan to break its ties to Afghan insurgent groups.

President 2012: Michele Bachmann on Afghanistan = “Stay the Course”
As President Obama announces Afghanistan tropp withdrawals, likely GOP Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann takes a different approach. Here is her statement in an interview with The Weekly Standard.
On Afghanistan, I firmly believe that we are at a point where we’ve got to stay the course, and we’ve got to finish the job. Reports coming out of Helmand right now are positive. … David Petraeus, who wrote the book on counterinsurgency and on the surge strategy, is successfully prosecuting the surge.
Now, President Obama has not told the story the way President Bush did. President Bush did let the country know where we were at, and I give him a lot of credit because when he was getting all sorts of invective pointed against him, he stood against the world for what he knew to be right in dealing with terrorism. And perhaps no other would have stood the way that he did. I give him great credit for that.
Now in Afghanistan, we are making great progress. We have to win southern Afghanistan, then we have to go on and win eastern Afghanistan. I believe that we will be victorious, and we’ll end it. I understand why people are frustrated. I completely understand. But I do trust General Petraeus in that effort and in what he is doing over there. And I think that they are doing what we need to do.
This is a constrast to both President Obama and the GOP’s Mitt Romney. But, it is a safe policy position and what Obama’s general are recommending.
However, American voters are tired of years of war (on the LEFT and RIGHT) and the massive costs associated with them, especially with Osama Bin Laden’s death.
And, remember Obama’s troop withdrawals will be modest at best.

Day By Day by Chris MuirChris, while Obama’s foreign policy disasters like selling out our democratic allies are renown, the American economy looms as the prime argument against his re-election. The price of gasoline, food and the bankruptcy of many states will loom heavily as voters decide on the Presidential race.American Jews vote 70% for the Democratic Party. Now, why they will accept the anti-Israel nonsense from Obama is anyone’s guess? But, historically they have an establisned voting pattern and since they live primarily in a few very blue states a few percentage points towards the GOP will be negligible.

Twin American Dentists’ Path Leads to Iraq

Suffering from a toothache in southern Iraq may land you in the chair of either of two brothers with an interesting story of adversity, perseverance, and the unique bond of identical twins.
Army Capts. (Drs.) Aleksandr and Dmitry Baron both serve in the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment as dentists on separate bases in southern Iraq. Both are augmenting the unit from their home base of Fort Stewart, Ga. Aleksandr deployed to Contingency Operating Site Kalsu at the end of October to work with the Regimental Support Squadron, and Dmitry joined the regiment’s 3rd Squadron at Contingency Operating Site Echo in April.
Both men volunteered for the deployments, but Dmitry’s recent arrival to the same unit in Iraq was mere coincidence, the kind of common occurrence that has kept these twins together for most of their lives. The tight bond between them was forged when their parents, Vitaly and Emma Baron of Aberdeen, N.J., decided to take them from Russia to America when they were 6 years old.

Israel has rejected President Obama’s statement about the ’67 borders and America’s democratic ally in the Middle East is now pissed off. Will the American Jews who are a mainstay in Obama’s Democratic Party be able to persuade him otherwise?Well, at least one supporter is calling for a truce on Israel.
A close friend and political supporter of President Barack Obama, Alan Solow, is urging American politicians to avoid partisan mudslinging over the issue of Israel.
“We cannot allow Israel to become a wedge issue that divides our community and dilutes its strength,” said Solow, a Chicago attorney who serves as the president of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations. “Of course, we as individuals can prefer some candidates over others, but we must not allow the U.S.-Israel relationship to become the distinguishing factor between the major parties. Our goal should be exactly the opposite: to promote all political actors to adopt strong pro-Israel positions across the board.”
Solow’s comments came days after some Republicans–along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other staunchly pro-Israel voices in Israel and the U.S.–jumped on Obama for publicly suggesting that Israel’s pre-1967 borders should be the “basis” for peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, for instance, unleashed some of the most strident criticism by declaring that Obama had “thrown Israel under the bus.”
Solow, speaking from the podium at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee policy conference Monday night, did not mention any GOP politicians by name. However, he urged Israel supporters “to avoid demonizing leaders merely for political gain.”
“We cannot allow the politics of the moment to distract us and to interfere with our success,” warned Solow.
No. The Jews will make peace with Obama and march in lock step as he sells Israel MORE down the river in his second term.

President 2012: Obama’s Speech on Middle East and North Africa – The Reaction

Obama on Thursday invoked the killing of Osama bin Laden as a chance to recast relations with the Arab world and said the top U.S. priority was to promote democratic change across the region. Obama, in his much-anticipated “Arab spring” speech, also ratcheted up pressure on Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, saying for the first time that he must stop a crackdown on protests and lead a democratic transition “or get out of the way”
The reaction to President Obama’s speech (transcript) yesterday (video) was swift and certain from his potential 2012 GOP opponents. Here is a sampling.
- Mitt Romney – “President Obama has thrown Israel under the bus. He has disrespected Israel and undermined its ability to negotiate peace.”
- Tim Pawlenty – “To send a signal to the Palestinians that America will increase its demands on our ally Israel, on the heels of the Palestinian Authority’s agreement with the Hamas terrorist organization, is a disaster waiting to happen. At this time of upheaval in the Middle East, it’s never been more important for America to stand strong for Israel and for a united Jerusalem.”
- Mitch Daniels – “What is going on in the Arab world these days has little or nothing to do with Israel or Palestine, it has to do with tyrannical regimes which have really stifled prospects for their people who are now restless for a better life… I don’t think right now it pays very much of a dividend to try to cut the Gordian Knot of Israel and Palestine.”

My take on this is that most Americans don’t give a flying flip about this issue. They object to their tax money being used to adjudicate a dispute that has been going on for thousands of years.
So, this will not hurt Obama (execpt with his left-wing Jewish donors) and certainly not help the GOP candidates (since Jewish voters go about 75% for the Dems and are concentrted in New York and California – states which won’t be in play in the Electoral College.)
