John Kerry Watch: The “Republican Attack Machine†Is Out to Get Me!
In this photo provided by FOX News, Sen. John Kerry , D-Mass., appears on ‘Fox News Sunday’ in Washington, Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006.
Ian at Hot Air: Video: Kerry on his troop remark: The “Republican attack machine†is out to get me!
John Kerry joined Chris Wallace on this Sunday’s edition of Fox News Sunday to discuss his troop remark and a potential White House run. Kerry immediately saw where the interview was going and tried to spin his way out of answering for his alleged faux pas and on to congratulating the Democrats for their “historic victory†earlier this month. However, Chris Wallace would not let him out of it. Kerry claimed the “Republican attack machine†masterminded the attack on him. It wasn’t everyday people who were offended that an United States Senator called our servicemen and women lazy and uneducated. It was Karl Rove who made Kerry say it.
Kerry is through politically before he knows it.
Flap bets Hillary and Obama are laughing their ASSES off.

Iraq War Watch: George McGovern to Meet with Congressional Progressive Caucus
AP: McGovern to Meet With Congress on War
George McGovern, the former senator and Democratic presidential candidate, said Thursday that he will meet with more than 60 members of Congress next week to recommend a strategy to remove U.S. troops from Iraq by June.
If Democrats don’t take steps to end the war in Iraq soon, they won’t be in power very long, McGovern told reporters before a speech at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
All the LEFTIE NUTTERS are coming out now.

Hugo Chavez Watch: Chávez Attacks Bush as a “Genocidal” Leader
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez speaks during a meeting with the foreign media at the Miraflores Presidential Palace in Caracas, Venezuela, Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006. Chavez said that Democrats made strong gains in U.S. congressional elections thanks to a ‘reprisal vote’ against U.S. President George W. Bush . The picture in the background is the Venezuelan liberator Simon Bolivar.
Venezuela’s president continued his criticism of President Bush after the pro-Chávez legislature declared that the 9/11 attacks were `self-inflicted.’
Miami Herald: Chávez attacks Bush as a ‘genocidal’ leader
When Venezuela’s leftist President Hugo Chávez called President Bush ”the devil” in a U.N. speech in September, many thought his ”anti-imperialist” rhetoric had reached rock bottom.
But fresh depths have since been plumbed. The Venezuelan government, to judge from recent events, officially regards Bush as a genocidal Nazi who arranged the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to justify aggression against other nations.
In a speech Tuesday, Chávez criticized the decision of an Iraqi court to sentence former dictator Saddam Hussein to the death penalty. ”If sentencing is to be done,” Chávez said, “the first one to be given the most severe sentence this planet has to offer should be the president of the United States, if we’re talking about genocidal presidents.”
His comments, which were fairly typical of his recent attacks on Bush, came shortly after the publication of a resolution by Venezuela’s legislative National Assembly describing the 9/11 attacks as ”self-inflicted” and after an exhibition at the Foreign Ministry building in Caracas in which Bush was portrayed as a Nazi storm trooper.
The resolution, which appeared in the official government gazette in mid-October, primarily criticized Washington’s decision to build a wall along the Mexican border to keep illegal immigrants out.
But in its fourth paragraph, it calls on the U.S. Congress to “demand that the government of President Bush explain the self-inflicted attack on the World Trade Center and its victims, the supposed aircraft that crashed into the Pentagon and the links between the bin Laden family and the Bush family.”
The resolution, drafted by the deputy chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission, Carlos Escarrá, was passed unanimously by the 167-member assembly, all of them Chávez supporters after an opposition boycott of elections last December.
Both Chávez and Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro have referred several times in the past to suspicions that the 9/11 attacks were planned by the Bush administration, and have called for an inquiry.
But this appears to be the first time that the term ”self-inflicted attack” has been used without qualification.
Asked how the legislature had reached that conclusion, Escarrá said that ”evidence and testimonies” had emerged in the United States and that ”for the rest of the world, there is no longer any question” that 9/11 was not an al Qaeda attack.
About the time the lawmakers were approving the resolution, an exhibition called ”Truths About the Empire” was on display in the foyer of the Foreign Ministry. It included a photo montage showing Bush dressed in the uniform of the German SS.
Flap wonders if John Conyers will pick up on this………

Impeach Bush Watch: Impeachment NUTTERS Begin
New York Daily News (Via Michelle Malkin): Ex-Dem pol’s how-to for impeaching W
Former Brooklyn Rep. Liz Holtzman has a new book out – and its premise is a dream come true for many Democrats. It’s called “The Impeachment of George W. Bush: A Practical Guide for Concerned Citizens.” Holtzman knows a thing or two about taking on a President because she worked on President Richard Nixon’s impeachment.
“This came out of what I would call my niche expertise,” Holtzman said. “I know what constitutes a high crime and misdemeanor.”
The genesis for the book were newspaper reports that President Bush had given the National Security Agency approval to engage in domestic spying.
“One of the grounds for Nixon’s impeachment was wiretapping in violation of the Constitution,” Holtzman said. “I said, ‘Oh, no, here were go again.'”
In her book, Holtzman and co-writer Cynthia Cooper lay out four other issues on which they believe Bush could be impeached: lying about weapons of mass destruction to justify invading Iraq, allowing the torture of prisoners, leaking classified information and botching the federal response to Hurricane Katrina.
“I thought that when we voted to impeach Richard Nixon, this would send a very strong message to future Presidents – do not put yourself above the rule of law,” said Holtzman, a Democrat. “That message was not heard by President Bush.”
The Moonbat NUTTERS are warming up in the bullpen. When John Conyers takes over the House Judiciary Committee in January the sparks will fly as well as the subpoenas. Will Speaker Nancy Pelosi be able to control Conyers?
Doubtful…….
Look what Ed Koch former Mayor of New York City says:
“I expect that [Rep. John] Conyers as chairman [of the House Judiciary Committee], now with great freedom, will do anything he can to commence such impeachment or investigatory activity, and we’ll see whether Pelosi will prevent it,” Koch says.
Earlier this summer, Conyers issued a 350-page “investigative report” on the Bush administration that was widely viewed as a road map for Bush’s impeachment if the Democrats took control of the House. Conyers charged that the Bush administration had violated “approximately 26 laws and regulations.”
The GOP can only hope Conyers calls this report up and begins the investigations. This will tie up the House until the next election cycle.
Besides Dick Cheney would then be the President should Bush be impeached and convicted. The way President bush is selling out the conservatives on immigration reform, perhaps a cheney Presidency would not be bad for the GOP or the country.
Stay tuned for more Moonbattery………..

Cindy Sheehan Watch: Sheehan Arrested in Washington AGAIN
Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan yells to fellow demonstrators as she is arrested outside of the White House in Washington, Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006.
AP: Peace mom Sheehan arrested in Washington
Activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested Wednesday as she led about 50 protesters to a White House gate Wednesday to deliver anti-war petitions she said were signed by 80,000 Americans.
The Berkeley, Calif., woman, whose son was killed in
Iraq more than two years ago, was arrested along with three other women on the sidewalk outside the White House gate, said Lt. Scott Fear, a U.S. Park Police spokesman. They were charged with interfering with a government function, he said. Before she was arrested, she joined the protesters in hailing the outcome of Tuesday’s elections and chanting “Stop the War” outside the gate.
“It was taking too long for them to decide whether to accept them or not, so we just delivered them,” said Sheehan, who waited about 15 minutes with other protesters before tossing the petitions over the fence.
Not real smart to throw something over the White House fence. But, then again, who said you were smart, Cindy?
The petitions opposed use of military force to resolve the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program.
Sheehan, 49, and other grieving families met with Bush about two months after her son died, before reports of faulty prewar intelligence surfaced and caused her to speak out. She has tried repeatedly to speak with the president again, including a 26-day vigil last year outside Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas.
Wednesday’s protest came as Republicans lost control of the House and the White House announced the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
“He’s being offered as a sacrificial lamb,” Sheehan said.
You mean Rumsfeld is NOT enough? How can that be? Rummy was the Man who sent your son to his death – NOT!
Cindy stop stalking Bush – it is getting old and very PATHETIC.

John Kerry Watch: I’m Sorry But…….
John Kerry, Democratic congressional campaigner in the Fifth District, speaks at a news conference Sept. 18, 1972 in Boston. During the Vietnam era, Kerry opposed a volunteer Army because it would be dominated by the underprivileged, be less accountable and be more prone to “the perpetuation of war crimes.
AP: Kerry’s ’72 Army Comments Mirror Latest
During a Vietnam-era run for Congress three decades ago, John Kerry said he opposed a volunteer Army because it would be dominated by the underprivileged, be less accountable and be more prone to “the perpetuation of war crimes.”
Kerry, a decorated Vietnam veteran who turned against the war, made the observations in answers to a 1972 candidate questionnaire from a Massachusetts peace group.
Is Senator Kerry FLIPPIN’ again? Or?
After Kerry caused a firestorm this week with what he termed a botched campaign joke that Republicans said insulted current soldiers, The Associated Press was alerted to the historical comments by a former law enforcement official who monitored 1970s anti-war activities
Kerry apologized Wednesday for the 2006 campaign trail gaffe that some took as suggesting U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq were undereducated. He contended the remark was aimed at Bush, not the soldiers.
In 1972, as he ran for the House, he was less apologetic in his comments about the merits of a volunteer army. He declared in the questionnaire that he opposed the draft but considered a volunteer army “a greater anathema.”
“I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown,” Kerry wrote. “We must not repeat the travesty of the inequities present during Vietnam. I also fear having a professional army that views the perpetuation of war crimes as simply ‘doing its job.’
“Equally as important, a volunteer army with our present constitutional crisis takes accountability away from the president and put the people further from control over military activities,” he wrote.
So, did he make the statements about Iraq and the troops before he meant them?
Or did Kerry BOTCH THE JOKE before he was AGAINST it?
Or is it a HYPOCRITICAL APOLOGY?

John Kerry Watch: Kerry Makes Direct Apology to Troops
PHOTO CREDIT: 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 34th Infantry Division
Reuters: Kerry makes direct apology to troopsDemocratic Sen. John Kerry apologized directly to U.S. troops on Wednesday for comments about Iraq that had prompted a firestorm of criticism from Republicans and President George W. Bush.
“I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform and I personally apologize to any service member, family member or American who was offended,” Kerry said in a statement.
Kerry said earlier in the day he was sorry for a “botched joke” about Bush that was interpreted as a slam on the U.S. military. Republicans demanded a more direct apology and seized on Kerry’s comments to students as a sign of Democratic weakness on national security.
About damn time…….
As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.
I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.
It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.
The White House statement:
Sen Kerry’s apology to the troops for his insulting comments came late, but it was the right thing to do. Our military is the best and the brightest, the most courageous and professional or an military in the world and the President is honored to be their Commander-in-Chief
Was this really an apology?
Not really……more of – “well the DNC made me do it and it is right before an election – so……”

Hot Air: John Kerry on America’s lazy, uneducated military
The Quote:
“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.â€
All Flap can say is MORON.
Now, Senator John McCain is calling on Kerry to apologize.
Senator Kerry owes an apology to the many thousands of Americans serving in Iraq, who answered their country’s call because they are patriots and not because of any deficiencies in their education. Americans from all backgrounds, well off and less fortunate, with high school diplomas and graduate degrees, take seriously their duty to our country, and risk their lives today to defend the rest of us in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.
They all deserve our respect and deepest gratitude for their service. The suggestion that only the least educated Americans would agree to serve in the military and fight in Iraq, is an insult to every soldier serving in combat, and should deeply offend any American with an ounce of appreciation for what they suffer and risk so that the rest of us can sleep more comfortably at night. Without them, we wouldn’t live in a country where people securely possess all their God-given rights, including the right to express insensitive, ill-considered and uninformed remarks.
And Kerry should apologize……..
Update:
The White House accused Sen. John Kerry on Tuesday of troop-bashing, seizing on a comment the Democrat made to California students that those unable to navigate the country’s education system “get stuck in Iraq.”
“Senator Kerry not only owes an apology to those who are serving, but also to the families of those who’ve given their lives in this,” White House press secretary Tony Snow said. “This is an absolute insult.”
Update #2:
Kerry, who is considering another run for the White House in 2008, angrily fired back.
His statement called Republicans “assorted right-wing nut jobs.”And at a hastily arranged news conference in Seattle, Kerry said: “I apologize to no one for my criticism of the president and of his broken policy.”
Kerry said the comment in question was “a botched joke about the president and the president’s people, not about the troops … and they know that’s what I was talking about.”
Update #3
American Legion to Sen. Kerry: Apologize Now
The National Commander of The American Legion called on Sen. John Kerry to apologize for suggesting that American troops in Iraq are uneducated.
“As a constituent of Senator Kerry’s I am disappointed. As leader of The American Legion, I am outraged,” said National Commander Paul A. Morin. “A generation ago, Sen. Kerry slandered his comrades in Vietnam by saying that they were rapists and murderers. It wasn’t true then and his warped view of today’s heroes isn’t true now.”
Update #4
AMVETS Calls on Senator to Apologize to Troops
AMVETS’ National Commander expressed disbelief and disappointment in the comments by Senator John Kerry Monday.
“For the Senator to suggest that today’s United States military is made up of uneducated men and women who didn’t ‘study hard’ or ‘make an effort to be smart’ is ridiculous and appalling,†AMVETS National Commander Thomas C. McGriff said Tuesday. “The men and women in uniform today make up the most advanced, highly-educated force ever seen. To suggest otherwise is a slap in the face to every soldier, sailor, airman, Marine and Coast Guardsman who has spent countless hours working to better him or herself. This is also an insult to every person and organization who has worked tirelessly to provide our troops and their families with education benefits.
“Senator Kerry should retract his remarks and apologize immediately,†McGriff said after listening to comments made by Senator Kerry at a political rally in Pasadena, Calif., Monday. “It is especially outrageous coming from a member of the U.S. Senate.â€
