Shocker: McCain vs Obama – All Tied Up in Latest AP Presidential Poll
In a shocking new poll, the Associated Press has the Presidential race tightening.The presidential race tightened after the final debate, with John McCain gaining among whites and people earning less than $50,000, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll that shows McCain and Barack Obama essentially running even among likely voters in the election homestretch.
The poll, which found Obama at 44 percent and McCain at 43 percent, supports what some Republicans and Democrats privately have said in recent days: that the race narrowed after the third debate as GOP-leaning voters drifted home to their party and McCain’s “Joe the plumber” analogy struck a chord.
Three weeks ago, an AP-GfK survey found that Obama had surged to a seven-point lead over McCain, lifted by voters who thought the Democrat was better suited to lead the nation through its sudden economic crisis.
Conventional wisdom and most of the other Presidential polls have Obama up sometimes by double digits. So, this poll could be an outlier.
But, Flap believes the race with tighten and that the Bradley Effect may very well skew poll numbers until election day.
The GOP should not be discouraged in their GOTV efforts. There are other races down ticket as well.

Now, the IBD/TIPP Tracking poll shows a tightening race.
Contrary to other polls, some of which show Obama ahead by double digits, the IBD/TIPP Poll shows a sudden tightening of Obama’s lead to 3.7 from 6.0. McCain has picked up 3 points in the West and with independents, married women and those with some college. He’s also gaining momentum in the suburbs, where he’s gone from dead even a week ago to a 20-point lead. Obama padded gains in urban areas and with lower-class households, but he slipped 4 points with parents.
Again, stay tuned. This race is NOT over.

“The next president won’t have time to get used to the office. We face many challenges here at home and many enemies abroad in this dangerous world,” McCain said. “We don’t want a president who invites ‘testing’ from the world at a time when our economy is in crisis and Americans are already fighting two wars.”
McCain said it was even “more troubling” that Biden suggested supporters stick by Obama if the actions he takes are wrong or unpopular.
“Senator Obama won’t have the right response, and we know that because we’ve seen the wrong response from him over and over during this campaign,” he said.
Now, even former Clinton Administration Secretary of State Madeleine Albright agrees: it is a ‘statement of fact’ that terrorists will test Sen. Obama within first six months of his presidency.

Colin Powell to Endorse Barack Obama on Meet the Press This Sunday?
Former Bush Administration Secretary of State Colin Powell and Senator, Democrat Presidential nominee Barack Obama
It has been rumored quite a few times that former Bush Secretary of State Colin Powell would endorse Barack Obama for President. The latest poop is that Colin Powell will take the opportunity to finally make the endorsement on Sunday during his appearance on Meet The Press.Retired Gen. Colin Powell, once considered a potential running mate for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), now may endorse his opponent, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), according to Republican sources. But an air of mystery surrounds Powell’s planned live appearance Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” and no one is sure what he will say.
Powell, 71, a professional soldier for 35 years, has advised the last three Republican presidents.
The general’s camp is being coy about what he might or might not say on Sunday. But some McCain advisers suspect, without being sure, that Powell will endorse Obama.
“It’s going to make a lot of news, and certainly be personally embarrassing for McCain,” a McCain official said. “It comes at a time when we need momentum, and it would create momentum against us.â€
Powell, a four-star Army general, was national security adviser to President Ronald Reagan; chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the 1991 Persian Gulf war, when George H.W. Bush was president; and President George W. Bush’s first secretary of State,
Powell has consulted with both Obama and McCain, and the general’s camp has indicated in the past that he would not endorse.
Flap has maintained that it was just a matter of time for Powell to endorse Obama who he has said “would be electrifying” as President.

But how does he conjure this miracle, especially since more than a third of all Americans already pay no income taxes at all? There are several sleights of hand, but the most creative is to redefine the meaning of “tax cut.”
For the Obama Democrats, a tax cut is no longer letting you keep more of what you earn. In their lexicon, a tax cut includes tens of billions of dollars in government handouts that are disguised by the phrase “tax credit.” Mr. Obama is proposing to create or expand no fewer than seven such credits for individuals:….

Barack Obama’s tax plan for most middle income two worker families would impose higher marginal tax rates with Obama’s tax credits vanishing 40 per cent for each additional dollar earned over $40,000. Thus, there will be disincentives for American’s to either work harder or earn more.
Didn’t we have this argument in the 1980’s with Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter? And, Reagan won the argument about higher marginal tax rates, didn’t he?

Joe the Plumber asks Barack Obama a question last SundayEd Morrissey has a SAD BUT TRUE piece up about lessons we should all learn about Joe The Plumber and today’s LEFT plus the LEFT-WING IN THE TANK FOR OBAMA media.
- Thou shalt not offend The One by asking him a question. Of any kind.
- Anyone who questions The One will have to undergo a public pillorying of a kind unseen since the Red Scare, or perhaps the Inquisition.
- The Tanning-Bed Media will happily participate in any inquisition, as long as it keeps them from investigating irrelevant issues like Obama’s ties to the Chicago Machine, William Ayers, ACORN, or his record on protecting infanticide.
They examined, scrutinized, investigated every aspect of Joe Wurzelbacher’s life and then pilloried him with some of the same intense smears with which they hit Sarah Palin.
And, for what?
Asking Barack Obama a question in a random occurrence that OBAMA chose himself.
Team Obama knows that their candidate looked like a Marxist, talked like a Marxist and well exposed himself as a redistributionist Marxist which Obama was closely hiding from the American voters. This is not the image the Democrats wish to project to persuadable independent and undecided voters who continue to believe in capitalism and the American Dream.
So, SMEAR Joe the Plumber.
Flap agrees with Ed – please folks on the LEFT keep this story in the news for at least another week. The bloom has come off the Obama rose and the more transparency the better – particularly for those nasty tax increases and redistributionist welfare checks coming to a mailbox near you.

Gallup Poll: Presidential Race Continues to Tighten
Barack Obama maintains a 6 point lead but is now under 50 %.
But, among likely voters the gap is now 2 points:
The race is definitley tightening and Team Obama realizes that their lead in New Hampshire was lost at the last moment to Hillary Clinton. Obama lost the New Hampshire race.
Then, there is the Bradley effect. Most pundits have implied that less than double digit leads in the polls may spell trouble for Obama on election day.

But to — just because you work a little harder to have a little bit more money taken from you, I mean, that’s scary. You know as opposed to other people. I worked hard for it. Why should I be taxed more than other people?”
Sawyer: “Well if people making $250,000 should not be taxed additionally — by the way, it’s 3% from 36% to 39% under Senator Obama’s plan. If those people should not be taxed additionally, even though they’re in the top 5% of America, what about people who make $1 million? Or $5 million?”
Wurzelbacher: “Well, I mean, quite honestly, why should they be penalized for being successful. I mean, that’s what you’re telling me. That’s what it sounds like you’re saying. That’s wrong. Because you’re successful, you have to pay more than everybody else? We all live in this country. It’s a basic right. And Obama wants to take that basic right and penalize me for it, is what it comes down to. That’s a very socialist view and it’s incredibly wrong. I mean, $250,000 now. What if he decides, well you know $150,000, you’re pretty rich too. Let’s go ahead and lower it again. You know it’s a slippery slope. When’s it going to stop?”
