Sarah Palin Watch: Florida Democrats Slam Palin As Dangerous Right-Winger

From the Press Release e-mailed from a little bird:

    Florida Democrats Florida Democrats

    Dear Friends,

John McCain rolled the dice with his VP pick today – in an attempt to woo women voters.

But we cannot gamble with women’s lives.

Don’t let your friends, family and co-workers be fooled: Alaskan Sarah Palin is a dangerous right-winger who lacks the judgment to lead.

In 2000, Palin endorsed Pat Buchanan for President. Yes, that Pat Buchanan.

In 2006, Palin ran for Alaska Governor on a message of change – and then turned out to be just another corrupt Alaska politician who’s now under investigation in her own state.

She’s no Hillary Clinton. She’s Dan Quayle in a dress.

Women voters who care about equal rights, choice, family and other issues, will not see a partner in Palin.

Help us fight for these issues by electing Democrats up and down the ticket. Click here to donate today:

    https://secure.fladems.com/page/contribute/

She is lockstep with Bush and McCain on issues important to women. Every one of them. That’s scary.

The corrupt trio of Ted Stevens, Don Young, and Lisa Murkowski all raised campaign money for Palin.

John McCain claimed that Barack Obama lacked experience. Then he picked a VP who has just 20 months at the helm of a state with a population smaller than the city of Jacksonville, and zero foreign policy experience. Palin would be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Barack Obama is ready to lead. Last night he showed us what the next American President will look like. He and Joe Biden will deliver change we need.

The stakes are too high to risk another four years of the same. If you have $25, $50 or $100 to spare, please contribute today to the Florida Democratic Party’s campaign to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. We’re on the verge of major change in Florida, but we need your help.

    Contribute today.

    Sincerely,

    Congresswoman Karen L. Thurman
    Chair, Florida Democratic Party

Does anyone think these arguments will fly?

First, I never remember Pat Buchanan bombing the United States Capitol or saying God Damn America, now did he?

And, besides, Flap was a Team Buchanan member in 1992 and running for President in the GOP.

The Florida Democrats think what about Tony Rezko, a convicted federal felon raising money for Obama?

    Stay tuned……

Howard Dean Calls the GOP – A “WHITE” Party

Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democrat National Committee – “If you look at folks of color, even women, they’re more successful in the Democratic party than they are in the white, uh, excuse me, in the [laughs] Republican party.”

Carly Fiorina, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee’s Victory 2008 campaign and prominent supporter of John McCain responded to Howard Dean’s comments:

“It is disappointing to see Howard Dean trying to use gender and race to divide voters,” Fiorina said Friday evening in a statement released by the McCain campaign. “His comments are insulting, inappropriate and have no place in this election.”

But, Howard Dean and the Democrats have made race an important issue with their recruitment of African American voters to support Barack Obama.

Ceratainly with a ninety per cent plus lock of African American voters historically voting for the Democrats, Howard Dean simply misspoke and should have said his party was the “BLACK” party.

Sad to say Presidential politicis has broken down to race, religion, gender and national origin, but it has.

Barack Obama Watch: Praying for No Rain in Denver

    Pray for rain?

    As Flap said before:

Invesco is an open air stadium with no retractable roof. This will make a pretty picture for television as the Democrats will pack the place but if it rains or there are thunderstorms……..August is the fourth highest average rainfall month for Denver.

If it rains, the Democrats will move back inside to the Denver Pepsi Center. And, Flap does not care one way or another. A big stadium camp meeting will reinforce John McCain’s “celebrity” image of Obama.

Democrats for Tony Strickland Goes Live

    democrats4strickland

A new website Democrats for Tony Strickland, California State Senate, District 19

Looks like former GOP Assemblyman Tony Strickland and candidate for California State Senate is obtaining bipartisan support in his campaign.

A new website of DEMOCRATS for Tony Strickland is now on the net.

This does NOT surprise Flap since Strickland’s opponent Hannah-Beth Jackson is from the FAR-LEFT wing of the Democrat Party.

And, while you are at it. How about heading over to Tony Strickland’s regular site and contributing a few bucks?

    Joe Lieberman Watch: Democrat Divorce?

Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman

A trial balloon for the Lieberman-Democrat Party divorce and switch to the GOP caucus?

The Democrats know the divorce is coming and some on the LEFT want to press the issue before the September GOP convention. But, Joe Lieberman will be patient and will make a choice of his own choosing.

Lieberman may be more effective for John McCain if he remains in the Democrat Caucus – at least for now.

Barack Obama Watch: Invesco Field in Denver will Be Site for Nomination Acceptance

Invesco Field in Denver, Home of the Denver Broncos

Marc Ambinder says that the Democrats will announce the venue for Barack Obama’s acceptance of the party nomination for President tomorrow.

For the day, August 28th the Democrats will move from the Denver Pepsi Center to Invesco Field. The field, the home of the NFL’s Denver Broncos seats around 75,000.

Invesco is an open air stadium with no retractable roof. This will make a pretty picture for television as the Democrats will pack the place but if it rains or there are thunderstorms……..August is the fourth highest average rainfall month for Denver.

Barack Obama Watch: Denver Democrat Convention to Be Cut Short for Obama Bounce?

    DNConvention

The rumor was floated yesterday that in order to give Barack Obama a larger post convention bounce in the polls before the following week start of the Republican Convention in Minnesota that the Democrat Convention in Denver would be cut a day short – ending on Wednesday.

    This rumor has been debunked.

“I can guarantee you that’s not happening,” Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper said, adding that, unless he hasn’t been told about it, discussions Wednesday with officials from the Democratic National Convention Committee and the Obama campaign indicated both camps were planning for a full convention Aug. 25-28.

And, why would Team Obama EVER entertain such an idea?

Team McCain WILL announce the Republican Vice President nomination as soon as the Democrat Convention ends, immediatley proceeding the GOP Convention. Cutting the Democrat Convention short gives McCain and the GOP an extra day to hype their ticket.

Another Howard Dean staff screw up?

The Democrats do not wish any 1968 type protests at their Denver National Convention this summer, so why not keep the rift raft behind chicken wire barriers?

But, where will the party leaders be keeping Bill Clinton? What sort of “CAGE” will contain him?

And, what about Hillary? Will she be delivering a keynote speech during prime television time? Or is paying off her $20 million campaign debt enough for Obama to give her?

Flap wants to see that chicken wire restrain the Code Pink folks. Wait, you say that they are Obama delegates and wil be on the convention floor.

    Oh…..

Senate GOP Blocks Oil Windfall Profits Tax

Michael Ramirez on oil and gas prices

Michael Ramirez on Congress and Oil

United States Senate Republicans today blocked an attempt by Senate Demcorats to impose a windfall profits tax on American oil companies.

But the Democrats had to try to overcome staunch Republican opposition to any new taxes on the oil industry. The five largest U.S. oil companies earned $36 billion during the first three months of the year.

Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., needed 60 votes Tuesday to proceed with the oil tax legislation in the face of a threatened GOP filibuster.

A Republican energy plan, rejected by the Senate last month, calls for opening a coastal strip of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska to oil development and to allow states to opt out of the national moratorium that has been in effect for a quarter century against oil and gas drilling in more than 80 percent of the country’s coastal waters.

The Democrats including Barack Obama who supports this taxation are a pathetic bunch. Why do they want to go back to Jimmy Carter days and tax big oil to increase supply and relieve gasoline prices?

Did not work then and will not work now.

Flap remembers the gas lines, the shortages and the rationing.

Earth to the Democrats: Drill for oil and build new refineries while pushing conservation and alternative energy sources.

If the Democrats had NOT blocked drilling in ANWR eight years ago when President Bush and the GOP proposed it, we wold be receiving oil today from the site.

But, the Democrats control Congress and what have they done about HIGH gasoline prices?

    NOTHING but tax……..

While the Democratic National Committee’s Rules and Bylaws Commitee work out a plan to nominate Barack Obama or to screw Hillary Clinton, Flap will be off for a day of an eye exam, and shopping at the Glendale Galleria and other assorted venues in the greater Los Angeles area.

Watch the Donkey on Donkey action at the DNC here.

Flap might stop by the Tony Strickland event in Camarillo as well.

I will post photos of the sojourn. They can be found at Twitter, Friendfeed and Flap’s Flickr Photostream.
